Our concrete backyard patio had settled drastically lower and had become very uneven. Atlas came out right away for an estimate, and also suggested we include two front steps for a small additional charge rather than have to pay extra for another visit in the future. They called to provide the date they would be here, and the work was completed that day as promised. We weren't even at home during the process - they just left the bill and asked to mail a check. The patio and steps are now nice and level.
Description of Work: Mudjacked concrete patio in the backyard and two steps in the front walk.

The work was done on May 5th while no one was home and i came home to find the work exceeded my expectations. All the segments of the concrete walks were now level and at the same elevation and none of the segments had cracked. The front post was now plumb and Mark's crew had even extended the concretethat was injected under the post to the near by driveway (below the grass so that the concrete bridge to the driveway is not visable) to helpprevent tipping of the post in the future. I couldn't be more pleased with their work.
Description of Work: Called week of April 18th and asked for a quote to raise two concrete walks that lead to our front and side doors. Mark came out while i was gone and left a quote between our front door and the screen. The quote totaled $1050 to bring the individual segments of each walk to level and to slightly pitch them away from the foundation of the house. Some of the segments had dropped as much as 5 inches. Upon getting the quote i relised that i had forgotten to mention that our brick post, that contains both our mailbox and a light was leaning and that i would like to get it straightened. I approved the first quote and Mark came out again to look at the brick post. He quoted $500 to straighten it. This amount was less than he normally would have quoted but since he was already coming out to do the other work he adjusted his quote.

I rang and arranged an appointment with Mark. He was friendly, polite, efficient and punctual and arrived to supply a quotation within days. I completely wasted this gentleman's time as he does not supply the service that I needed but he was the ultimate professional. Not only was he incredibly kind when I realised with horrifying clarity that I had misunderstood my service needs but he took time to explain to me what services I did need and what to expect. Mark is a consumate professional and exactly the type of businessman I or anyone else would want to work with. I am confident in recommending that you contact Mark and discuss your concrete needs with him as I am sure he will impress you as much as he did me.

The estimator called me and pointed out that it would be impractical for me to have the patio squares lifted because the underlying grade had settled to the point that water would still run off towards the house/foundation. When I arrived home, I realized he was entirely correct. Because all the estimates I had received for the front were similar, I chose Atlas because he provided this information. The work was done prompty (within a week) and the crew was very friendly and professional. The only drawback is the holes that had been drilled in the stoop no longer match the color of the surrounding concrete, but I knew that was a possibility going in, and I don't know that anyone else would be able to match it exactly. Overall I was very pleased with the work and would recommend them highly.
Description of Work: I had requested quotes for lifting the front stoop and a concrete patio made up of concrete squares separated by wooden spacers. I ended up only having the front stoop lifted based upon their recommendation.

They did the work on time and the job essentially performed as was expected. There was a one year guarantee. After the second year, a section has dropped a little bit but I was advised that this could happen given the slope that the sidewalk sits on. This company advised me to change some drainage to reduce the effect the runoff was having. I can’t say I’m unhappy with the company because they don’t have control over the elements. The only thing that was disappointing was that there was an Angie’s List discount that I tried to negotiate but they refused to take it. I don’t recall what the reason was but I used them anyway because I needed the work done and the quote was inside a reasonable range. It lasted the full year of the guarantee. I may have the company come out again next summer to do the job again. I appreciate that they are local and my money stays within the community.

Several concrete slabs and a private sidewalk had sunken and/or tilted to one side. Atlas did the job as they promised--came in on-budget--and arrived on time. Very meticulous work and everyone is amazed at the final result. Saved us thousands in that we did not have to remove the old concrete and have the sections re-poured.

The job was scheduled for the end of April 2010. Their office called a day before to confirm the date and time. The workers (two of them) arrived, a little late because of delays on the previous job. They prepared the work site and set to work. The slab was raised to the proper level. It was almost magical to see. The technician, Jack, really knows his stuff. After the job was completed, they sealed the holes that had been drilled in the slab, and removed all excess material that had dripped from the hose when the hose was being moved. They even spread the outdoor carpeting over the slab, the way it was when they got there. Jack also gave me a couple of pointers to be aware of when getting the step replaced. The whole job took a couple of hours, and you would not have known that they had been there, except that the porch looked a lot better.
Description of Work: The front porch concrete slab was slanted to one side. One side was about 6" lower than the other. Mark came out to prepare an estimate, punctually. He explained to me how the job would be performed, and what I could expect as the finished product. They were going to drill 3 or 4 holes in the slab, and force a specially formulated mixture into the holes. The mixture would lift the slap to the desired level. He sketched the job details and marked the areas that could be repaired and those (like the step at the foot of the slab) that couldn't. Mark quoted a fixed price for the job, and pointed out that, although there was no way of determining how much the soil under the slab had eroded, there would be no additional charge if the amount of material needed exceeded his estimation.

While I thought only the sidewalk would need lifting, the estimator said the driveway also needed to be lifted as it had sunk over time as well. The workers arrived at the prescribed time and went about the work. The gentleman in charge helped by explaining how the sinking of the concrete had occurred, and pointed out how I might level the soil in my yard to prevent it from happening again. My house is built into a hill, and I did not realize how much of the soil was being washed down the hill over time. The soil was pulling away from the concrete and allowing the concrete to sink. The concrete was lifted and leveled back to where it was originally. Since the work was done, there has been some cracking and chipping on the driveway, but I was forwarned this could occur. It has been four months since the work was done and the concrete remains leveled. The workers were very nice, cleaned up the area well and even helped by shooting some "mud" into the area under the front porch where ground squirrels were living as a result of the front sidewalk pulling away from the porch.

Mark was excellent to work with. Came out quickly to give an estimate. Offered follow up via cell phone and e-mail. When I called the main office to schedule the job, I was told that it would take "couple 3 days" to get back to me. When I asked why so long just to schedule, I was told ratherly rudely that they were working on the schedule for the new season. Someone different and far more pleasant actually called me back the same day. The work was done to our satisfaction.

They did a fabulous job! The driveway is now slanted away from my house. I didn't have water in the basement after very heavy rains the day after the job was done. The sections are now even so the drive to the garage is now smooth. I didn't see any damage to my perennials next to the driveway.

I had another local company give me an estimate and they were hesitant to raise my sidewalk more than 3 or 4 inches. But Mark from Atlas assured me that this was not a difficult task for them and if they could not do it, he would have told me. However, both he, and the foreman (I didn't catch his name), told me I would need a lot of dirt for backfill, which I had already anticipated. I was also made aware of the fact that the material could ooze out from under the slabs where the greatest lifting was done. The original contract called for 6 squares to be raised, but the foreman did all 8 between the stoop and the garage, to insure they were all even at the edges and lined up just right. This was done at no extra cost and the sidewalk looks great! I should say that at one point the mix unexpectedly shot out of one of the holes and hit the front of my house and windows and they quickly hosed it off with no problem.

The communication was very good. When I made the initial contact, I was told that they couldn't come out for an estimate until the temperature and weather were more consistent. I appreciated that they wouldn't come if they couldn't give a thorough estimate. The estimate was e-mailed to me and a follow up call was made. I made an appointment for a couple of weeks out. The workers came while I wasn't home. They did a nice job on the driveway. It no longer has a sunken section. The area surrounding the driveway was clean of cement.

Mark quickly came out and gave us a thorough explanation of the work required and an estimate. After talking to Mark again the next day with more questions, we felt very confident with Mark and decided to hire his company for the project. The work began on time as scheduled and ended sooner than we expected. We are very satisfied with the result. I asked Atlas to come out and give me an estimate for mud jacking the slabs. Altas come out and drew up which slabs needed to be mud jacked so that the patio would slope slightly away from the house foundation. Also noted was an option of mud jacking two sidewalk sections leading to my front porch step. These had always collected water and iced up in the winter, so it was a great suggestion. I opted to have both the patio and front sidewalk mud jacked. Atlas scheduled my work for the following week, and completed the work as detailed on the written estimate. The Atlas office followed up with a phone call to make sure the work met my expectations. It has improved the overall appearance of my house. I would use Atlas again.
Description of Work: One side of my patio (consisting of concrete slabs) had settled unevenly, and was slopping towards my house. Atlas mud jacked about seven large slabs so that they were level and sloped slightly away from the house foundation.
