The icynene spray foam for exterior walls went great. The showed up when expected, and did a professional job. The ceiling insulation truck just did not show up. I was told they would be at my home within 35 minutes(after the icynene guys completed their work) and 3 hours later the company finally said they would not be coming. Another appointment was scheduled, and they were very late. But everything seemed to be done well.

They used a thermal imaging device to check my ceilings for cold spots. Unfortunately, I have radiant heat in my ceilings so the images didn't show much else. Since it was unseasonably warm that day, the man said he was going to have the office call to set up another appointment when it got colder, but they never called. He suggested that spray foam insulation in the crawl spaces might help, but I already knew that. I thought he might have something to say about insulating the walls, but he didn't seem interested in that idea when I brought it up. I just expected something more.

Initially there was a small communication issue, but they quickly resolved it and did what they were supposed to do. I have used them before on a very big job and I will use them again.

He was very professional and nice. He would have had to cut through the walls and damage the tire and I do not want that done, so I did not end up going with them. He did nothing wrong, I just did not want to do that type of work.

Very professional from start to finish. Crew arrived on time, prepared the areas, explained the agenda for the day and was very professional in all aspects. I would definitely use Eco Tec again.

They were professional and cleaned as they went. Were very receptive to any areas we found that we could see light. We will use them again.

Big Deal thermal imaging of house for heat loss/drafts.

James came out and we walked through my house looking at the thermo imaging camera. He explained what to look for and what he saw. Just as I suspected there was 0(no) insulation in the basement. Also, there was an addition to the house where the floor was always cold. James remained in contact with me throughout the process. We were able to schedule very quickly which I appreciated and the two gentlemen did an excellent job. They taped up everything and cut the sheetrock almost perfectly. They had to do this due to the depth of my walls (I have about a 6 inch gap from the sheetrock and studs to the exterior wall in my basement. Usually they can go in through tiny holes from the outside and you don't even know they were there. Again this was all explained to me in the beginning. They installed the foam quickly and cleaned up well. They even asked if I wanted them to leave the plastic as I would need to sand down the spackle for the sheetrock. I chose to have them take it down. It was very nice that they asked. James called me after they left and asked how it went. Now that is service! They did a great job. I only wish I could afford to have them do my attic. Maybe before next winter.

They were prompt and made an appointment. They came by to give me a bid.

Phil arrived on time and was very professional. He went through every room with his heat/cold seeking device and showed me where insulation could have been installed better and where cold we entering. He was very pro and explained all options to me. I feel I could trust him and would use his companies service if it was needed down the line.

It was easy to schedule and all persons were very professional & informative. Work was completed on the date & time promised. Workers explained all aspects of the job fully & clearly. They were very neat & cleaned up after themselves. ( a am physically disabled with mobility issues and they were extremely helpful.

Eco Tec did an incredible job. They were flexible with scheduling changes and punctual for our start time. They were descriptive about the process and did the work in a reasonable timeframe. The kitchen is as insulated as a cooler now. I have no criticisms at all. They did what they said they would do at a surprisingly resonable price. I would recomend to anyone looking at a more efficient alternative to bat insulation.

He was a bit late. I called the office and they said he tried to call me but the number he had was wrong. I checked and they had an older number that I had in Angie's list when I lived sompeplace else. We walked from room to room looking for hot spots (It's summer now) and he found two places of interest. One I can't do anything about. The second I can. Other than being late due to traffic he encounterd, he was in and out of the house in 30 minutes. There was no written report which would have been nice when I go to sell the house. The attached photo is the hot spot in our living room.

We have the highest energy costs in our neighborhood according to Comed so we had them come out to figure out why. They sell insulation and according to them, we had no leaks. It didn't really help in figuring out our problem. He did offer to come back in the winter, free if charge, for a second evaluation. He was prompt and courteous.

Great job. This was the 3rd time we used their services. Professional service and quality product provided. Very happy.

James called me the morning of the appointment to say that his previous appointment ran over and that he could still come out but would be about an hour late. So I told him I was still available and to come on out, well he called me back to ask if he could reschedule and so we did. For the next scheduled appointment he called and said he had car problems could he reschedule again. Third time around he finally makes it to the appointment he shows up with no company information, no product information doesn't even know the name of the foam product his company uses. Then, he quotes me a price of $900 and says since you live so far we're going to have to charge you $1200 for the job. This guy was a TOTAL waste of my time, inexperienced with little to no people or sales skills at all. With this guy being the face of the company I wouldn't hire them if they agreed to do the job for half price!

Do not call this company for small jobe. Do not assume that they will follow-through on their committments. If you have a big job give it a shot.

Overall, I was quite happy with Eco-Tec, but there were some snafus with the insulation process itself. We were very happy with the process of getting the estimate and getting everything set up for the installation. We scheduled the installation for a Friday, to start at either 8-9 or 10-11, depending on an earlier job. However, the team was substantially delayed and only got to our house around 2pm (there was some communication to keep us updated, but we had to initiate it to find out what was going on). We were told that they might not be able to actually finish the installation since they got such a late start, and got mixed messages about whether it would be possible for them to come back the next morning, but eventually found out they wouldn't be able to return until Monday. Since they had removed all of the old insulation, we were concerned that this would make the house very uncomfortable (particularly since my wife was 8-months pregnant at the time), but fortunately it ended up being a decent weekend. Putting the new installation in was okay, although they needed to borrow a flashlight and extension cord from us, and returned the extension cord with quite a bit of dried insulation on it. We were warned ahead of time that the insulation would smell very bad that day, and we requested that they open windows to help air it out, although they ended up only opening a window at one end of the house, and not the other so there wasn't much cross-breeze. By late afternoon, it was possible to go upstairs for short periods of time, as they had said, but we found that the smell was fairly strong for a couple of weeks afterwards, despite trying to air it out every day. The final product has been outstanding, however--before, we couldn't properly regulate the temperature upstairs, even with the heat or AC going almost non-stop. It's very comfortable now, with much less work from the furnace and AC.

We had been considering doing this for quite awhile, and researched our options extensively. We were very pleased with our experience with Eco-Tec, and we're looking forward to seeing the effects of their work during the coming winter months.

The estimator was a little late but again very professional and knowledgable. He estimated the insulation alone would run $1000 for the sq footage involved, the ceiling of the garage. He told me that I would need a contractor to remove the exsisting drywall and then come back to reinstall new drywall and that would run approximately $500 to $700. This was more than I had expected and was not prepared to invest this much at this time. I would call them again in the future if I decide to do this project.

Best contractor of the year, Eco Tec Insulation. Just had all my exterior walls sprayed with icynene spray foam. You have to see it to really appreciate the entire process. Josh, the installer did a fantastic job apply it. And Katrina (executive director) was so helpful from suggestions to producing a simple and clear contract. Plus there storage facility/dock is so clean and very organized. I plan to use them later this year for my attic insulation. You guys really deserve the Servive Award that you receive every year.

All of my communication this month was with Kat. She and I are equally at fault for not putting the updated estimate in writing. But when I called her back she had no idea what she had told me. It was 3 weeks later so I don't fault her memory, but she should have had something to reference (I had the notes I took). She then gave me a price $100 higher than what I had been told earlier. I talked her down to $25 higher; I wouldn't have accepted even that if I had gotten her estimate in writing. I asked, via email, for a few extra clauses in the agreement (no smoking, any overspray will be cleaned up without permanent damage). Kat readily agreed to the first but, through several email exchanges, kept equivocating on the latter. A fair summary (IMO):Me: "I'd like to add wording saying any overspray will be cleaned up without damaging anything."Kat: "There should be no overspray."Me: "Right, but if there is, will it be cleaned up, and will there be no resulting damage?"Me, a day later: "Could I get in writing either a commitment of no damage or an admission there could be some?"Kat: "The removal of any overspray should not damage anything."Me: "But it might? What sorts of surfaces *have* you seen damage on in the past? I am concerned about the brick."Kat: "Here's the product URL." (which I interpret as, "it's not my responsibility, blame the product manufacturer")Me: "Forget it." Kat kept trying to make me think she'd answered my concerns while always leaving herself an "out". A straightforward admission of the risks might have been okay; answering questions like a lawyer or politician is not. My impression is that Eco Tec can not be trusted to be honest or "straight" with customers. They also attempt to tilt the playing field unfairly in their favor, imposing numerous legally binding terms on their customers while commiting to little themselves.
