Maggie Johnson was a great help in organizing all the fixtures and providing us with a summary of what was to be installed. (Separately, I had selected the sinks, faucets, shower heads, etc. from several plumbing supply houses.) The actual installation was quite a disappointment. First, we had asked that our dual, adjacent sump pumps be connected at the pit level and that each pump have its own discharge line. That way, if one pump were to fail, the water from the second sump pit would flow into the working pit. And, each pump could discharge without constraint through its own unique discharge line. Our requests were ignored. After the work was completed, we were told by the general contractor that our requests were really overkill; he and the TRINAC plumber, with their vast experience, unilaterally deemed our requests unnecessary. (See photos at the bottom showing our flooded basement.) Secondly, Trinac Plumbing did not install the well pump where we had asked. We had left a note for the Trinac plumbers in the crawl space asking the pump be installed on the south wall so we would be able to read the gauge without crawling into the crawl space. Instead of contacting us to discuss any concerns Trinac might have had, the Trinac plumbers installed the pump on the west wall and threw out our note. After a big brouhaha with the general contractor, the well pump was repositioned. Really, this drama should not have been necessary. Thirdly, I ordered a Kallista Glamour sink for our master bath vanity. When the sink arrived, I noticed the logo was not centered behind the drain. I returned the sink to Trinac and asked that they order a non-defective replacement. When the replacement arrived, it also had the logo off center. At this point, Trinac told me that I should handle getting this resolved. Below is a copy of the email sent from Trinac's Maggie Johnson. Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 10:01 AM, Subject: "Kallista Glamour sink." "I spoke with WaterWare, and a Kohler Company representative (of which Kallista is an arm of), regarding the placement of the "Kallista" word imprinting on the replacement Barbara Berry Glamour sink for the vanity in the Master Bath. Should the homeowner want to pursue this issue further, the following was recommended: Call 1-888-452-5547 and ask to speak with the Technical Department (s/b extension 0). This will enable the homeowner to relay what she sees, directly to a Kallista technical representative, no intermediaries like myself or Maureen at WaterWare. Hope this is helpful." Helpful? You be the judge. (What happened? Trinac installed the sink with the off-center logo, backwards. See photo below.) My takeaway is that Trinac Plumbing is not interested in doing a good job. They are on autopilot and just do whatever they feel like. If you have nice plumbing fixtures, find a plumber who is proud of his work.
Description of Work: Trinac Plumbing was the plumbing subcontractor for our general contractor. We added an addition onto our single-family home. In the process, we gutted the existing plumbing. Trinac was responsible for installing all new plumbing and fixtures for six baths, one half bath, two washing machines, three kitchen sinks, one laundry sink, two water heaters, sump pumps, one ejector pit, well pump, and three outdoor spigots.
