Description of Work: We contacted both Mr. Electric and Mr. Sparky listed on Angies List and got no response from either so we are using a retired electrician from Sandwich. Disappointed not to hear anything from either of these companies.

Description of Work: Al Mahan, Mr. Electric of the Western suburbs, was always very punctual. He arrived on time for the initial review and quote and answered calls and emails promptly. He arrived as scheduled for the scheduled work (2 days). His attitude is very professional and his work is excellent. He is the only electrician that I talked to that told me that he would do all of the installation that I requested WITHOUT any damage to the plasterboard that would need repair after he was finished. He installed 6 can lights, 2 extra outlets, wiring and proper support for two ceiling fans, and other wiring. |We would highly recommend Al Mahan, Mr. Electric, to anyone interested in high quality work for a reasonable price.

Description of Work: Was going to replace a light fixture as it was hard to get the globe off and one and seemed to burn out bulbs too often. He rechecked the connections, suggested new bulb vendor, offered suggestion on how to put the globe in easier. I was satisfied with the service Mr. Electric provided.

+ -1 moreHe was very good, efficient, helpful and nice to work with. It didn’t take him too long and the price was reasonable. He did suggest that we upgrade the wiring in our home, but I’ve never had any problems with our wiring thus far. The next day, I was able to install the dishwasher without any problems.
Description of Work: I was going to install a new dishwasher myself, but when I began, I found out there was an electrical pipe in the way, so I needed someone to eliminate that. It was a small job.

+ -1 moreHe showed up on time and got to work right away. It took just about 4 hours I think for the job to be completed. The price was the same as the estimate. After the job was done the building inspector liked everything that was done except for the type of of receptacle. I called and he came out the same day to replace it. No problems. No questions asked. I have some interior things I'd like to have done and Mr. Electric is first on the list of who I would call.
Description of Work: Lucas from Sugar Grove Mr. Electric came out and gave me an estimate of what exactly I needed to have done and showed me how, where and why. He trenched a line through the backyard around to the side of the house and made a dedicated breaker for our pool pump. He also run another wire in the same "conduit" so I can tie into that for my shed when I get that finished.

+ -1 morethe electrician arrived on time, gave us an estimate and we had him do the work. he covered the area with a drop cloth, used his 14 ft ladder and carefully removed the old chandelier and and hung the new chandelier. made sure everything worked and adjusted the height of the light and cleaned up his work space. he offered to do a free inspection of our outlets and circuit breaker cabinet. only found one small item that should be changed which we did ourselves.
Description of Work: needed to hang a new chandelier in a 2 story foyer and remove the old one.
