Joe is the best plumber I know. Hes an "old pro" who will never cheat you out of $. His prices are fair and his work is outstanding. I call him for the smallest jobs as well as the big remodelling projects. Hes golden!

This was a follow up visit that took four months to schedule. Brand new toilet had developed a crack. Without even coming to inspect, they insisted that it was not due to improper installation and they charged me for the labor to fix it (more than the part). Though I got Kohler to agree to replace the bowl, I am not convinced that the original bowl was properly supported because the floors are uneven in this house. The new bowl did appear to be properly shimmed and supported. The caulking around the base was sloppy and unsightly, so I had to dig it out and redo it myself. They also did not have a ladder, so they helped themselves to a chair in the basement that I had recently painted for my son, getting it muddy and chipping the paint in the process. I chose this company because of glowing reports on Angie's list, but after thinking about what to say for the past six days, I simply do not have confidence in them and would not use them again. I will say they are nice gentlemen.

"IT'S REALLY UPSETTING TO RECEIVE A REPORT LIKE THIS. WE REALLY GAVE THIS MEMBER A FAIR PRICE ON THE FIRST INITIAL JOB. THERE WAS A WATER LINE THAT OUR COMPANY WAS UNHAPPY WITH AND WANTED TO STRAIGHTEN OUT AND WE DID NOT CHARGE. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TOILET HAVING A CRACK INSIDE THE BOWL, WHICH IS NOT SOMETHING WE WOULD EVEN COME IN CONTACT WITH AND IS THE ONLY REASON KOHLER EVEN AGREED TO REPLACE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE 4MONTHS OF SCHEDULING PROBLEMS WAS THE TIME SPENT WAITING FOR THE DETAILS TO BE WORKED OUT TO GET THE TOILET COVERED. IT IS COMPLETLY ABSURD TO EXPECT MY COMPANY TO PAY FOR GAS AND A TECH TO COME OUT AND REPLACE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. THIS WHOLE REPORT STEMS FROM THE $150 CHARGE TO REINSTALL A NEW TOILET. AS FOR A CHAIR BEING USED, ALL MY TRUCKS ARE FULLY STOCKED WITH LADDERS INCLUDED, AND WORK WITH GOOD HELP WHO WOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM RUNNING OUT TO GET THE LADDER."

Joe is local and was able to fix the problem with ease. In typical fashion, customer service from the builder was unresponsive even though the problem was a result of poor quality work during construction.

For almost every job Joe and Chris have worked on, they have had to return many times because the job is never completed and something always leaks. I recently had them out to replace some plumbing to a small ejector box in my laundry room. That resulted in two more trips back because they couldn't seem to complete the repair and leave me without leaks. Then they proposed that they replace it by digging a sump pit in the laundry room which I agreed to. He and Chris have returned twice already to fix leaks in the plumbing from the laundry sink to the new sump pit and it's still leaking. Wouldn't you think that a licensed plumber could cut and glue PVC so it wouldn't leak? The toilet they reset still moves when one sits upon it. Joe said he would be back. I haven't heard from him in weeks. I wonder whether Chris is a licensed plumber since almost every repair leaks. I didn't ask to see his license. Stupid me! Joe is often difficult to reach because of personal problems.

"I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. WE EXPLAINED TO THIS MEMBER THAT THINGS NEEDED TO BE MOVED AROUND. SHE CHOSE TO LEAVE THEM AND MAKE REPAIR ANYWAY. WE HAD TO MAKE 2 TRIPS OUT TO FIX THE PIPE, DUE TO STRESS ON THE PVC. NO EXTRA CHARGE, THAT IS WHY WE WERE WANTING TO MOVE THINGS ACCORDINGLY. IT WAS UNDER A ONE PART LAUNDRY TUB AND EVERY TIME THE SINK FILLED UP, IT PUT STRESS ON THE PIPE. HAD WE BEEN ABLE TO DO THE REPAIR AS SUGGESTED, THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. THE TOILET IN QUESTION IS NOT THE TOILET THAT WE WORKED ON. THAT TOILET WAS IN HER BEDROOM BATHROOM, THE TOILET SHE'S TALKING ABOUT WAS THE HALLWAY TOILET WHICH WE NEVER TOUCHED BEFORE. BUT WHEN SHE CALLED, WE TIGHTENED IT DOWN, AND MADE A FEW ADJUSTMENTS AT NO CHARGE. MEMBER DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR NEW TOILET TO BE REPAIRED CORRECTLY, SO WE DID ALL WE COULD. SHE INSISTED THAT WE HAD WORKED ON THAT TOILET, WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. THIS BASICALLY COMES DOWN TO MONEY AND NOT WANTING TO PAY FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THAT TOILET. AT DIVITO PLUMBING, WE WARRANTY ALL OUR WORK AND BACK ANY SERVICE WE PROVIDE. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH OUR SERVICES, WE WOULD CORRECT THEM AT NO CHARGE. WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON GOOD REPORTS."

What was going to be an installation of a sink and toilet became a greater project because of poor condition of galvanized pipes. Price was fair, but some work still needs to be touched up and have not heard back after several weeks. Also, concern about the size pipe used to replace cold water laterals. Divito used 3/4 inch pipe to feed three and a half baths, a kitchen and laundry sink and washer. They promised that this was more than adequate, but other companies suggested using larger pipe. Worth mentioning that Joe was in middle of caring for personal health and personal matters which created some delays.

The best part was that he diagnosed the problem over the phone, probably saving me at least an hour's worth of his time at my house! Plus he went in to repair the leak in the most minimally invasive way possible. I have to repair a small hole in the downstairs bathroom rather than what could've been thousands of dollars in repairs for having to remove the bathtub upstairs. He was very communicative and very nice. Easy to reach by phone, too. Highly recommended!

CHRIS, THE PLUMBER WAS VERY POLITE AND WORKED HARD. HE HAD TO COME BACK A SECOND TIME TO FIX THE LEAK IN THE CRAWL SPACE. HE DID HIGH QUALITY WORK, AND EVEN RODDED OUT A FLOOR DRAIN FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE.

MR. DIVITO IS ABOUT 70 YEARS OLD AND HAS 45 YEARS EXPERIENCE. HE DOESN'T MOVE AROUND QUITE SO FAST, BUT HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. WHEN NECESSARY HE WILL BRING ALONG A YOUNGER MAN TO HELP. MR. DIVITO IS A VERY NICE MAN AND AIMS TO PLEASE. I GOT A FEW BIDS FROM OTHER PLUMBERS HERE ON ANGIE'S LIST AND MR. DIVITO WAS 25% LESS THAN THE LOWEST BID I RECEIVED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MR. DIVITO. I DOUBT IF ANYONE COULD DO BETTER IN TERMS OF PRICE, QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
