A couple areas of initial concern were quickly and completely addressed when brought to their attention. Description of Work: This was a classic analysis of heat loss in the house. But my particular interest was more focused - excess heat in the attic. They hooked up the fan to the door to lower pressure in the house and then found all the leaks. They also used an infrared camera to show the heat losses pictorially. Very quick and thorough.

+ 0 moreAndrei and team were very good to work with. Both Andrei and Dimitrei spent the extra time to walk me through every step of the analysis and the insulation project. We identified a significant lack of insulation over one bedroom and over our kitchen cabinets where we had been having temperature problems. They were able to get insulation into these very hard to reach area's and we noticed an immediate difference the next week when the temperature dropped into the 30's and the wind was blowing hard. Overall, very good to work with and did a good job of cleaning up.
Description of Work: Performed Energy Audit and identified several area's that were in need of air sealing and insulation. Included a whole home thermal camera scan and provided the pictures along with the recommendations in a report. Provided a proposal. Services provided: 1. Whole home blower door testing to identify and quantify unwanted air infiltration through windows, doors, attics, crawlspace, hvac duct work and electrical outlets 2. Analysis of current insulation & thermal envelope 3. Health and safety checks for asbestos and mold 4. Detect pest & rodent nests None detected at the time of inspection 5. Detect water leaks and their origin - walls, flooring, roof, moisture that cannot be physically reached with moisture meters 6. Detect electrical “hot spots” which can cause potential fire hazards 7. Recommendations and prioritization for efficiency improvement measures

They did the audit on one of our coldest days of the year (I felt sorry for them) and provided pictures, explanations and a plan to seal up all the leaks. I will be hiring them to execute the plan now that the temperature is tolerable.

+ 0 moreIt was amazing--Dimitri and his crew were fantastic--cleaned up each day (it took 4 days for them to complete everything). They were punctual and stayed as long as possible each day. I was extremely impressed and would highly recommend this team for your work.
Description of Work: This project began with an energy audit using the blower fan and infrared camera. It confirmed my suspicions of all the leaks but also showed all the interior wall problems. We have an attic that is the full length of our ranch house that we use for storage and had flooring. Andrei looked at it and consulted other experts and said that trying to blow in insulation over the entire area and then trying to restore the storage capabilities would be cost prohibitive. Instead, he added 3 inch dense foam board insulation on top of the floor and then also added another layer of plywood so we could still use it for walking and storage. He also added eaves and blew in insulation in the sides where we had no flooring. His men also boxed in our heating vents and caulked the entire inside of the house (windows, doors and walls)

+ -1 moreWe called the company in and they came in a timely fashion. He met with my husband. He said the man was gruff but thorough. Then when the estimate came we asked if he could perform not the whole thing - but a simple insulation portion in our daughter's room; he refused. That was a year and a half ago. Since that time I called once more to ask if he would please just do her crawl space. We never got a reply. It was time to write a review for the unfortunate experience and to warn others that this man is looking for a big payback and won't stick to the $500 insulation deal.
Description of Work: We bought a deal ($150 for $500) worth of services and it was throwing money in the toilet. He came in and estimated to insulate the roof and two crawl spaces. He said the work was more than $2000 dollars, which blew us away. We then asked if we could only do the crawl space next to our daughter's room because it gets so cold in there; he said no. It should not be an all or nothing approach. If you put a deal on Angie's List, and we only want one portion of our home done (as a cost saving measure and to keep our kid warm) then you should do it. Now we are out $150 with no insulation to speak of.

The service man peeked his head in the attics and never went in them. He said, "Some areas look good and some don't". Then he said the crawlspace wasn't worth doing anything. We basically spent $250.00 for nothing. He said "If you want to add some insulation to the top attic it would be around $1,500.00". Outrageos price for a small area.We now have discovered ventaltion issues that cause moisture problems. He never said anything about that. He basically came out for his check of $250.00

Description of Work: I am very pleased by their work. Green Attic went out of their way to make sure the house was kept clean. They put a barrier in our front door during the installation to prevent cold air from entering and laid down tarps from the door to the attic stairs. I had previously built a platform in my attic for storage and at no extra cost, they raised the platform (a process that took several hours) so that additional insulation could be blown in under the platform. In addition, they actually added more insulation than was called for in the contract. I all areas, they went above and beyond what was expected and what was contracted.

The team came on time and put rulers throughout the attic to monitor insulation levels. We can clearly see how much insulation was applied. The team was very professional and laid cloths over the carpet to keep it clean. The process took less time than told which was a bonus.
Description of Work: We were very satisfied with the service received. Our concern was that the deal was not really a "Big Deal" when comparing with other companies' charges for this service.
