+ -1 moreI got the angies list coupon and they came in and tried to do tests but couldn't since it was too warm. They stated that they would need to come back and would need to arrange a new time never did. In the end if they knew that it was too warm then why bother setting up appointments at all, just gives you a bad reputation as not knowing what you are doing. Waste of my time and I never did get a full imaging done with the angies list coupon that I paid for. Ended up just going with Home Depot and got attic insulation and solved all of my problems.

The inspector that came was knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. They were on time, courteous and professional. I would use them again.

There was a hiccup the second day (the insulation came in the house through one of our vents by mistake- lucky it was "green"!), but Andrei was responsive and even gave me a $100 credit to get my house professionally cleaned (which I needed anyway!). Overall, I am so happy. My house is toasty warm! We also received a $1200 instant rebate of the price above.
Description of Work: R60 blown in insulation in the attic. Also installed attic ventilation. Insulated overhangs.

Since each company quoted different materials, I had several questions in order to make my decision. Andrei was very good about answering my questions completely in prompt fashion. He spend quite a bit of time making the energy analysis of my home, explaining everything as he went along. The work was easily set according to my schedule, and the crew worked non stop the entire time, doing a nice clean up when they were done. I would absolutely recommend them to any of my friends.

+ 0 moreI hired this company via the state's Energy Impact Illinois program. The company conducted an energy audit which determined that my home was not as efficient as it could be. It was determined that my home could be more efficient by air sealing and installing insulation in my attic. Over a period of two days Demitri, Andrei and their crew used caulk to seal around windows and doors and installed cellulose insulation. The company was was recommended by the Energy Impact Illinois staff as being familiar with bungalows. I was not disappointed. Demitri and Andrei are very knowledgeable and their crew are very hard-working. I noticed that in the summer my house stayed cooler with less effort from my window air conditioners. Now that it is winter I have been able to keep the thermostat set 2 degrees less than I had in the past. The Energy Impact program paid $1700 toward the cost of the service.
Description of Work: Conducted initial energy audit. Air sealed in home and installed cellulose insulation.

Description of Work: Insulation of an attic -- built a path to furnace that is up in the attic. Sealed all the ducts and lights. Insulated a large family room crawl space. Very professional and Andrei and his crew definitely knew how to best insulate a very old house.

+ -1 moreAndrei's crew were extremely professional, clean, personable and had a tremendous work ethic. A great room in the rear portion of the second floor of our home is open to the attic peak; the front half of the attic is unfinished and must be accessed by ladder. They blew the insulation along the peaked ceiling of the great room as well as into the unfinished part. It took two full days and because they needed even more insulation to finish the job returned on Saturday afternoon even though they had other jobs scheduled. The head of the crew, Demitri, took time to address all our questions. All were very sensitive to our desire to minimize any dust or dirt from the installation. They did a great job.
Description of Work: Removed old insulation, removed some inactive mold, constructed raised walkway in attic to air conditioning unit, provided required protection to fireplace chimney and can lights, blew in cellulose insulation.

+ 0 moreExcellent! Best inspection ever. Was great to meet Andrei and find out where my home is in need of some attention. The reverse air circulation together with the infrared camera sure told the entire story. After Andrei inspected the attic, he showed us the pictures and explained why the furnace is constantly running in the winter, and why the air conditioning is constantly running in the summer. I should point out that we had not talked about what we were experiencing in the house until well after his energy audit. It sure is excellent to learn that this can all be fixed and I look forward to Andrei's recommendation on how I can fix some things myself, and what the total cost for him to fix the rest would be. A very enlightening experience...thanks to Angies List and Andrei, our home will be energy efficient for the coming Chicago winter!

+ -1 moreExcellent job. Very thorough, hard workers. They spent a lot of time doing the job right and we are very pleased with the results. It was a lot of work. The owner kept in contact with me before and during the job. He told me beforehand what was to be done, what was needed and sent all information ahead of time via email....including invoice, proof of insurance and infrared photos of temperature ratings in my attic. He was very helpful and I knew I was getting good service. The workers were conscientious and friendly. They laid down tarp to keep the area they walked on clean; also offered to spray my tiled bathtub wall with the extra mold cleaning solution to kill mold that comes through the grout. They were happy to answer all my questions and explain what they were doing. It's good to know there is nothing toxic in the insulation and that it is much safer and more fire-retardant than fiberglass or other types of insulation typically used. It also has better insulating properties. I am sure we will have a much warmer house this winter and that the attic temperature will be far more regulated in the summer, now that we have everything brought up to standard with proper venting and insulation. I highly recommend Green Attic Insulation.
Description of Work: Applied appropriate chemicals by spraying wood in attic to kill mold and prevent future growth; built new flooring 6" above existing for storage and to accommodate new insulation; built up opening into attic, installed channel vents over soffits; filled attic with new insulation, wired attic fan and repositioned light.

+ 0 moreveI seen an ad from Angie's List informing of the energy efficiency evaluaiton. I signed up and paid the requested amount. I then recieved an e-mail from the company and we set a date for the evaluation. The company showed up at the time and date that we had set and did the evaluation which took about an hour. Within two weeks I received a complete written evaluation with pictures and recommended work with a written estimate. It was an easy and good experience. In September I made an appointment to the the recommended insulation installed, they showed up at the appointed time and did the work. Before leaving the workers cleaned up everything and left. I met with the work manager and he reviewed with me everything that they did according to the job contract.
Description of Work: Insulated the attic floor, insulated around the windows and outlets, insulated the ceiling joists in the basement. Cleaned the area up and removed all debris.
