Went very well - done in the time they said - very professional

Had requested for the home energy assessment which was handled very professionally. The assessment was scheduled and the individual arrived at the promised time. He did his job very well and explained his findings very meticulously. Everything was fine so far and I was very happy with the overall process. The problem started after that. Post the assessment, I was told that I would receive a detailed assessment report along with their recommendations in about a weeks time. 2 weeks passed by and I had not received the report hence dropped an email to Donna Dattilo who promised to look into the same and have the report sent ASAP but did not receive it. I have followed up twice since then and this time around did not even receive an acknowledgement of my email. Since I do not have a report yet, this whole assessment was a waste of my time and money as I do not have details of the problem areas and recommendations which is the main essence of doing an assessment.

Everything went great, EXCEPT ..... we were told we would receive a comprehensive report of the Energy Audit findings via e-mail. Never got anything, nothing .... no report ... and yes, I did check my spam folder. I even sent an e-mail stating we never received our comprehensive report and we never received a response. So basically, I spent $49 to have my time wasted as I have no idea what the findings were.

Company never returned calls or emails. Apparently went out of business.

Keith did the on-site work. He was professional, told me what we should do, and walked around with me to do the thermal imaging. I learned a lot. He gave me a rough figure of how much air was exchanged in the house during an hour. He gave some recommendations and said he would write the full report plus a quote for the work, and send it in one week. I checked March 16 by email and phone. No response. I checked by email on March 17 with Donna - who made the appointment - and with Keith - who did the work. No answers. Called March 21. Left a voicemail. No answer. I called Angie's list on March 22 to complain and start this process to get a refund for incomplete work.

Keith arrived promptly and was here for about an hour. He was very nice and we had a quick conversation about his findings before he left. He said he would email a report in about a week. Weeks went by and I never heard anything. I emailed him and the office and called the office and have not received any response.

Keith explained everything to me as he performed the work. He reviewed the results with me and recommended solutions to fix problems, and also identified what he thought I might be able to handle myself. He later sent me a report. I haven't hired them yet, but plan to for some of the attic work.

Well, the service rep was professional and found value in the inspection.

They went out of business, which explained why I wasn't getting any return phone calls to clean up some relatively minor issues.

They cancelled on me twice. The first time, they called me after they were already supposed to be at my house. The second time, I got an automated e-mail saying that my appointment had been cancelled, followed by a second e-mail saying that they had hired another company to complete the service.

Awful, as stated above. Never delivered any results and seem to have disappeared.

Overall it went fairly well. They were not the cheapest, but based on the reviews and my experience with their estimator, I decided to go with them. Everything went great with the insulation and air sealing, done pretty quickly, but my gable vents needed to be custom ordered. After a few weeks of not hearing anything, I called to see when we could get them installed to find out they misquoted the vents and needed to get authorization for a slightly higher cost. It didn't bother me too much that they misquoted the cost of the vents (the increase was pretty minor), but more that I had to follow-up to find out my project was on hold. Unfortunately, by the time they got the vents winter had started and it was too cold to install them - once again, I found this out by checking in after a month and asking when the vents would be installed. So I had to wait for it to warm up. Once it did warm up, I followed up and to their credit they did get the installation done within a week. Overall, the quality of the work was excellent, but the issue with them not contacting me about the gable vents and then the fact that I was the one that continually had to follow-up prevents me from giving them an A overall.

Keith did all the work, but still trying to get the full report a few weeks later and the receptionist told me the company just folded when I emailed her. She said the owners shut the business down. Now I am seeing reviews from this week that the are still in business so I don't know what to believe.

It went very well. Keith is very knowledgeable and thorough.

What a joke. Purchased on Jan. 6th. Waited almost 2 weeks and they never contacted me. Called them and left message on their answering machine and they called back later that day. They said they had emailed me to set up a appointment, which they never did, and they stumbled when I asked them what email address they sent it to. I know they never emailed me and I check my spam folder daily. They said their 1st opening was March 9 - almost 2 months away. So I set it up for that date. On the morning of that date I receive a email from them saying that their energy auditor that does the work had to take a emergency personal leave and my appointment was cancelled. They said they would contact me later for a re-schedule. They ended up farming the job out to Arc Insulation who set up a appointment with me for March 24. They came out that day and did a excellent job. I have heard that 1 Temp Home is out of business and If it is true I can see why. If they are still in business stay away from them. They are not very professional or reliable.

Chris came out promptly as scheduled, and was clearly very knowledgeable. I was able to walk around the house with him, and see what he was seeing in his thermal imaging device, so there was no possibility that he was just making something up in order to sell me further work. The outcome was a total surprise: I was thinking that we needed more insulation in our walls, but he discovered that the walls are fine but we have virtually NO insulation in our attic! Because we are trying to prioritize a lot of things that need work in our house, I do not know yet when we will do this insulation project. But I was very impressed with his straightforward & educational manner.

Not Keith's fault but it seems like the things I need to do to fix the problem aren't cheap. There are some smaller things I can do like spray insulate the attic, but even that will cost a few grand. I have to determine if we would recoup the cost before (if) we move.

I think it was good. He was ok and I guess he knew what he was doing. It's a good starting point just to have thermal imaging of the house.

He was here yesterday, the day before yesterday. It was very very well. I was very pleased. The building was built in 1898. Its a three story. Wanted some information, and they had it, and it was excellent. I haven't received an invoice yet, on his card it said free estimates. They are going to send me an proposal, so I don't know yet. Without question. An hour or two to complete. Their job was done good. He did an excellent job. They were excellent.

It went well. The best. I don't know. A couple of hours I think. It was great. It was fine, nothing was messed up.

All was good. A follow-up with the heat sensor gun would have been nice, as it didn't appear to make much of a difference.

Part of their work included removing old insulation in our attic where they found mold and removing the mold. They left half of the attic insulation in place, When they carried the chemical used to treat the mold up our stairs to the second floor, it dripped on our carpeting an left more than a dozen spots where it bleached the color out of the carpeting. They did return to complete the work in the attic -- but, in my opinion, their work was sloppy. (Maybe this is the nature of adding blown in insulation?). We are still waiting for them to have a company come out to fix the damaged carpeting. Once that has been done (or not), I will update/revise this review.

Process took a little more than an hour. Technician was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of this engineer's questions.

From the time I purchased the deal to the time they came out was close to 2 months. I'm not sure why have a deal if you can't come out in a timely manner. When they did come out I was told that I would get a quote within 5 days. It's been nearly a month and I haven't gotten anything. This was a complete waste and I won't be using their services.
