I spoke with Danny about doing the resurfacing of floor but after we removed the carpeting the floor was so badly damaged it was not worth investing money to have it refinished. The entire floor needs to be replaced.

Danny and his team were great. Danny suggested a stain that ended up looking perfect and he added a small area of wood to make a threshold look much better. There was a damaged area in one bedroom but even that looked a million times better after the refinish. It's very clear Danny and team know what they are doing and take a lot of pride in the work. Totally on time and budget.

Everything was done satisfactory. Additional work done a bit pricey.

These guys were terrific! Our floors look FANTASTIC. Beautiful , clear, and clean. They completed the work in the span of one afternoon, and their included dust-containment system worked wonderfully. There was virtually no cleanup for my wife and I to take care of after they left. We will most certainly be using them in the future!

It went great!! They were very professional. I forgot to leave the wood panels out for them to replace a couple spots on the floor. when I got home and noticed that I had forgot, I called them. They came back the next morning and installed them which was amazing because I thought I would have to wait awhile for them to come back, but they did it right away!! I will be using them in the future. And most importantly, the floors look great!!

Our job went well from beginning to finish. Dan is a friendly and very knowledgable professional who responded to our call quickly, listens well and answered all our initial questions patiently and clearly. His follow up proposal was fair and set out all the work to be done. As others have said,he clearly takes pride in his work instilling confidence that it will be completed to his client's satisfaction. Dan set out his process for us, then arrived on schedule daily and let us know what was being done each day and when the work would be complete for the day. His was as dustless a process as can be expected of any floor sanding and he took care that all AC/heating vents and other openings were sealed before beginning the work. In other words, he did an excellent job on the floors as well as respecting all our concerns and we could not be more pleased.

Danny and his crew refurbished our kitchen and pantry wood floors. In addition to sanding, staining and putting on three finishing coats they removed the gouges, the scraps from the chairs, fixed nails that were not properly installed and moved a piece of wood that was not properly placed when the floor was originally installed. They worked with me to create a custom color to match the marble flooring that meets the hard wood floors. It looks lovely and is a much warmer and inviting color. The floors look much better than when originally installed. Truly a professional job. They arrived when scheduled and on time each day. They covered everything in plastic to minimize mess and then did a thorough job in cleaning at night and when the job was completed. They worked around my schedule (I work at home) and our two dogs. Very flexible and accommodating. Danny quoted prices when I wanted custom heat vents placed in the areas. They look great. and disappear as they should. There was some odor with the stain and the finishing products but not a great deal. In fact, someone dropped by and commented that the smell was not offensive or strong. He had just had their hardwood floors done and he said our odor was much less. It was freezing outside so the house was closed and the furnace running with the fan on 24/7. I do not think the smell was any stronger than when having the walls painted. I would recommend Modern Quality Flooring to our friends and would use them again when needed.

They did a great job. The guys were professional and timely. The price was fair.

They were good. They did a good job, they did charge me a lot for the kitchen, although the rest it was under the 600 square feet, 400 square feet or whatever it was but then they said they would charge extra. They charged me quite a bit to move one piece of furniture that I couldn't manage on my own, they charged $80 for that but the job they did was very good. They came, gave me an estimate, there were no surprises, they held to the estimate, they were prompt and cleaned up. They did it very fast, it was like 2 hours and then they were gone. They charged me another $350 for the kitchen and $80 to move a piece of furniture so it came to $975. The actual square footage came to 80 square feet more than the offer but that was the kitchen area and they charged me $350 just for the edging around the cabinets, they had to do it by hand, it's a small area. They filled a couple of cracks. They charged $80 to move a large furniture in the adjoining room, they didn't go upstairs or anything but they had to come back the next day to put it back in place so it was 2 trips. Originally, they charged $100 but I kinda bulked at the price, I said I've moved every piece of furniture except for this one because it takes 2 people to have to tip it over an arched way, otherwise it was on rollers but it had to go under a couple of arch ways so there's no way I could just roll it in to another room. I thought that the men were going to take a lot more time but they came at about 7:00 and they were gone by 11:00. It went very quickly but they did protect everything, they did the dust control and they did a pretty job on that. It's a very easy job other than the little kitchen area, I thought that was a little high. There was no stain or anything. I think it was reasonable price if you look online the standard charges would have been in that region, even with the extras, and I understand that they had to come back twice so the time involved for 2 people to come back and move it even if it took them only 5 minutes to move it. I was satisfied with the service.

It was easy to schedule them to come out and give me an estimate. They showed up on time. We then scheduled the work to be done about 1-2 weeks later on a Saturday morning. Again, they showed up on time. They were reliable and professional and I am happy with how they repaired and patched up the wood floors in my closet. They made the repair work blend in with the original wood floor.

I am very happy with my new floors and the service Danny and his crew gave. There was a question of two sliding doors not clearing the newly installed floors but it was quickly resolved and everything came out perfect. Danny also suggested some new 1/4 rounds and other trimming missing that made a big difference. The workers were prompt every day and left the area always very clean. Simply put, the entire experience was outstanding.

They were friendly and efficient. Helped me pick a stain for the floor, which, by the way turned out beautifully. There were four people working on the floors, very efficiently. They started on Monday and by Wednesday they were done. There was a little problem with the stain not drying, and Danny went to the condo at 6 to 8 oclock to make sure everything was totally dry before they put the finish on. I would recommend them without hesitation, and being in the real estate business would refer them to any of my clients looking to have work done on their floors. The best!!!

I could not have asked for more. Danny and his crew of three were on time explained what they were going to do, what the problems were going to be. Floors had never been sanded before and the old finish that was used back then would require some extra sanding and there would be an extra charge for materials which was minimal. The team arrived on time, worked very efficiently, and was done in a matter of hours. The dustless sanding system worked well and they took extra care to tape off the room to further contain any remnant dust. The contractor discussed in detail what I needed to do following the project (not walk on for 24 hours, floor finish will maintain longer if no shoes, don't drag furniture across the floor, get felt bottoms for the furniture legs). The floors were in reasonably bad shape before and look as good as new today. Beautiful job. Thank you!

Purchase this deal, but did not need the work done after the fact. Have reached out to the vendor to get a discount. The vendor so far has provided very fast communication and responses.

This work was done at a house I own in Chicago that was built in 1957. The house had wall-to-wall carpet. About five years ago, I decided to pull up all the carpet and refinish the floors myself. No too long after I pulled up the carpet I became ill and was unable to finish the floors. Last year, I found this Deal on Angie's List and decided to buy it and have the floors finally refinished. They were able to come out and start working the day after I called them. The job was slightly bigger than the work specified in the deal, but the extra charges weren't that much. I could tell they knew what they were doing, but I was unable to judge the work until it was completed. They used a very toxic smelling floor coating which made it impossible for me to be in the house too long while the work was being done. Once the the work was completed I could see some "shattering" in the floor. I asked why why did not correct this, and they informed me that the floor was too thin to sand anymore. I consulted someone else on this matter, and they told me that there was more than enough wood to do more sanding, Modern Quality just chose not to. At first glance the floor looks good, my wife thought they did a good job, but after finer inspection, they are little things here and there that should have been resolved, like filling in the holes were the carpet staples were. That being said, there are areas of the house that look great and have no issues. I just wish their work had been a bit more consistent.

I couldn't be more pleased with Danny Arnatu and Modern Quality Floors. He and his staff were personable. professional, punctual, and efficient. They did an outstanding job installing hardwood maple floors in three bedrooms within my desired timeframes at a price that was thousands below competitors estimates. I had originally been a little hesitant as I had wondered if Danny would be able to do quality work at that price. I was encouraged to accept his bid & hire him for the job based on reviews of other Angie list members. However, from my first encounter with Danny I realized I had found an individual who took extreme pride in his work and concern for satisfying his customer. How great to find someone who was trustworthy! I strongly recommend Danny and Modern Quality Flooring as the one you should choose for projects that require floor installation or refinishing!

Danny was great in communicating and was flexible in scheduling this work. His crew arrived at the stroke of 8 am and were finished with the job before noon. I am very satisfied with the work and it was a pleasure working with Danny and his men.

Danny was very responsive throughout the process and did an excellent job refinishing the hardwood floors. This project was on a tight timeline as a new tenant was moving in soon. Danny completed the work exactly as he said he would and the results were excellent as was the price. Highly recommended!

Arrived on time. One hic-up was that I wanted to move a few pieces of furniture into the garage so that I would have access to the stairs to the second floor and be able to use kitchen. I had paid $250.00 extra to move furniture. We worked out the problem and furniture was moved to garage. The work was finished in two days and it looks great . The two helpers that moved the furniture back in place also put felt pads on the legs which I appreciated. It would be a plus if a painter would be recommended to paint the quarter round where the paint was removed during sanding. After all the add ons the price went from $545.00 to $1365.00.

Went great! The floors look brand new and they were in bad shape before. Very pleased with the process from start to finish.
