I had used Freedom Heating and Cooling to do a pre-winter checkup on the furnace and I thought they did a fine job. When my Furnace stopped working, I did not hesitate to give them a call based on my prior experience with them. I scheduled an appointment in the afternoon between 1:00 and 5:00. On the Day of the appointment I got a call at work around 11:00 that the person would be there in 20 minutes. I was able to meet the technician no with no problems. They got right to work seeing what was wrong with the furnace, and quickly found out it was a bad pressure switch. He did not have one in his van and told me it would be 225.00 for the switch and installation. I thought this was on the high side, but I wanted my Heat to work again. He also suggested I replace the igniter in the furnace for 195.00. The technician wanted to call his boss and see if there were any other jobs he needed to be at or if he could go pick up the pressure switch right now and return and install it. After he received the go ahead he told me he wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be charged a pickup fee on the parts. Once he left I called him after about 5 minutes to say I wanted to hold off on the igniter because I did not want to spend the extra money. He said that was fine and he would be back in about 20 minutes. Once he returned he installed the pressure switch and made sure everything was working. As he was drawing up the bill he paused for a moment and then said that I saved 195.00 by not doing the igniter, but that he was going to have to charge me another 55.00 to pickup the pressure switch. He said his bosses would not allow him to not charge this. So the total was 69.00 for the diagnostic call. 225.00 for the pressure switch and installation, plus and addition 55.00 to pickup the part. I think 350.00 is pretty high for a pressure switch. I am really not happy about being charged the extra 55.00, because I did not want to spend the 195.00 that was not needed right now. My furnace is also a standard York 90 so not an old or rare furnace. The pressure switch is right on the outside so nothing needs to be taken apart to get to it. In the future I will look for someone else for my heating and cooling needs. If you can get a deal for this company I would use them, but I would hesitate to use them for anything else.

My heater was going through cycles of starting up and then stopping without actually running for more than 30 seconds. It would do this several times in a ten or fifteen minute period and then stop completely. Eventually, it would come on for real and run properly but I was really thinking that it had stopped altogether. I called at 2pm on a Saturday (one of their normal business days) and the technician was here within 90 minutes. He happened to walk in while the heater was doing its cycle on/off routine so he was able to diagnose the problem right away. He told me the unit should be cleaned also and proceeded to do that and replace the sensor. He was done in about 45 minutes. Told me the cost up front for the work and the part and that was exactly what he charged.

This was a deal I bought through Angie's list. The technician was very through and he found a crack in the heat exchanger. He showed me the crack and explained that this meant I would need a whole new furnace. They gave me an estimate. I decided to go with a different company for a new furnace and installation.

$ 5 part - ignitor probe- cost $90.

Everything went well. Freedom previously came out in the spring to check our air conditioning unit so we were comfortable they would do another great job with the furnace inspection and clean. The new parts were replaced quickly and it sounds like our unit is operating better. No complaints and we will continue to use Freedom heating and Cooling for our heating & air conditioning needs.

We initially found Freedom a few years ago on Angie's List when they helped get one of our rental units heat the day before Thanksgiving at around 4PM. They had everything back up in less than 4 hours. I was sold! We had Freedom come out to do their annual maintenance on the heater a few weeks ago and the tech informed us that the secondary heat exchanger was cracked. It wasn't a bad crack but the unit was 22 years old and we figured the crack wasn't going to repair itself so it was probably time to replace the unit. We also decided to replace the A/C unit since it was the same age. We did what most people do and got a few estimates. Throughout the entire process, Pete was always gracious with his time and very patient as I had questions along the way. Freedom came in cheaper than the others and at one point, I flatly asked Pete why he wasn't trying to upsell me because I knew he could sell me what some of the others were recommending. His answer was that he wanted to build a long term relationship with us and really felt the recommendations we were getting were for things that were unnecessary. That's all I needed to hear. They came out the next day and did a great job. Knowing whatever company we went with would be responsible for maintaining it, it's refreshing to know that Freedom has the ethics that they do.

Sean was excellent. I am a first time home owner. Sean was very patient with me and answered all my questions. He was very thorough in his diagnostic check to help determine what was causing the rattling noise. I can't say it enough to how fantastic, friendly, and professional Sean was. I will be using them again for all my heating and cooling needs in the future!

cannot say enough good words about this company. In my 60+ years on this planet, this company is one that I am continually impressed with. Would recommend to everyone.

Very personable and professional service. Nice guy. No problems. Excellent communicator. Only complaint would be the cost of thermocouple replacement, which he had no control over.

Tech arrived within time window. Proceeded to cleaning test 2 furnaces. Replaced a part that was near it's lifecycle end for cost of $85.

I hope this review finds the owner of Freedom Heating & Cooling. Guillermo, a technician for Freedom Heating & Cooling, is simply an outstanding steward for your company. He performed excellent service, was extremely knowledgable, polite, honest, and sincerely helpful. I wish all service technicians would exhibit anywhere near the professionalism that Guillermo did. It was honestly the best service I've ever experienced from a technician, and probably darn near the best service I've had anywhere. A++++

Went well. They were prompt and professional.

I have requested for an annual Furnace tuneup. Service person suggested me to replace my Furnace capacitor and added a charge of $105. Since I am not the expert, I took his recommendation to replace it.

Bought a special for air conditioning annual maintenance check-up for $39 but that did not cover the whole cost when he came out. Charged a high amount for Freon refill and put more Freon in than has ever been required in prior years, so price ended up being higher than I've ever paid. Also said both capacitators were bad and needed to be replaced, even though I had them replaced a year ago. I have no way of telling whether it was needed or not, the units were working well last time used, so large fill-up was surprising. So a "deal" of $78 for service for two units turned out to be $470. Never had that high of expense to service air conditioning units. I service them every year and the house is only 9 years old. Very disappointing for what should have been a routine service call - that both of the units supposedly needed so much extra work.

We've used them before. They're good. The guy who came was really helpful. He did a couple of things extra. He checked and made sure the stuff was working correctly. He helped set up our thermostat. He charged me an extra hour of labor. It was a good experience.
