I made a call to Freedom first thing that morning since my air conditioner had stopped working the night before and Rita said she had someone in the area but made no promises since he had several calls before me. She called back around 1:30 to say he was on his way! When he arrived he was very polite, thorough, and talked to us as he was checking everything out so we could understand what he was doing and all the possible reasons why our air conditioner wasn't working even using comparisons to help us understand. In the end we needed a new compressor and freon. He told us all of our options including the price to install a new compressor and we asked for quotes on a new unit. We did not feel at all like we were being pressured into purchasing a new unit as he was also happy to simply replace the compressor and fill the unit with freon. In the end we decided to go with the new air conditioning unit. They worked late to install the unit so we would have a cool house that evening. They also took away the old unit and cleaned up after themselves. I was very happy with both the technician and the man who came later to install the new unit. I would definitely recommend Freedom!

Following a full inspection, Danny explained my AC unit (14 years old) was competely out of Freeon, and the type of machine I had (R2) was hard to replace. If Freeon was added there is no way to confirm there were no leaks in the coils. Danny provided an estimate to replace everything. Being the mediator, Danny helped me understand the pros/cons to the units and let me know the new AC unit could be replaced that day. Within an hour, Keith came with the new unit and helped install it. Danny and Keith worked on one of the hottest days of the year, in full sun to replace the AC unit (not to mention 4 flights of stairs). Danny and Keith were so professional, kind, friendly, etc. Danny also explained what to do in the fall, how to ensure a proper working HVAC sytem. I will be using their company in the future. Fantastic, fantastic service.

This was a Big Deal from Angie's List for $49. The two men from Freedom Heating and Cooling called and said they were on their way but did not arrive for one hour after they called. Only after I asked them if they had trouble finding my house did they tell me that there was a lot of traffic, but never apologized for being late. I liked it that they removed their shoes and were very pleasant. Once we got down to the furance in the basement they asked me when I last checked the air ducts. I felt they were trying to sell me somethng I hadn't requested in the first place. Then they asked me why I was having the furnance cleaned and serviced in the summer which made me feel that I was not doing the right thing. When I asked them why they asked that, they said "Just wondering". I felt really irritated at this time and felt put upon to purchase more from them when I just wanted my furnace serviced! In about 20 minutes one of the men comes up from the basement and tells me that the flame sensor should be replaced for $85 and the blower motor capacitor needed to be replaced for $ $116. Now the total bill is $201 plus the $49 I've already spent to JUST HAVE MY FURNACE SERVICED! I was upset, called my husband, he said go ahead with the job because Freedom got such good reviews on Angie's List. My next door neighbor (newly moved in) is a Heating and Refrigeration employee. I showed him the flame sensor and he said it just needed a little sand paper cleaning but was in good shape. I have no idea about the other item installed and if it really needed replacing. The men also put the company logo on my air conditioner without asking permission when they only worked on my furnace. It was my first time with Angie's List and it didn't give me much confidence of moving on with other Big Deals. I don't think the companies that sign up for the Big Deals are making much money UNLESS they are like Freedom Heating And Cooling!

Excellent timely service. Very efficient.

Our air conditioner went out last night. We called Freedom Heating & cooling this morning to schedule an appointment. A service technician was here by 2:30 this afternoon. Due to the age of our existing unit, we decided to have the unit replaced rather than repaired. When we asked the technician when someone could be out to install a new unit, we were told possibly this afternoon or tomorrow. I was thrilled when he called the office & was informed that someone would be out this afternoon to finish the installation. The service tech left for another call in the area. He finished that call & had time before his next appointment. In order to save time for the installation technicians, he came back to our house to begin the "prep" work for the old unit to be dismantled. Before 6:00 P.M. this evening we had a brand new A/C unit up & running. Freedom's prices were extremely reasonable & their service was exceptional. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They deserve an A++++++++. We will definitely use them again.

The guys were great, very professional, and informative, answering lots of questions and explaining everything they did. But I have been disappointed with some follow up details. I asked for a quote for a couple of air purification systems and it took about 2 weeks to finally get a price over the phone. Also, they left a case of equipment here which is still sitting out on my front porch waiting for them to pick it up almost a month later.

Freedom A/C phoned to book the A/C service but the caller couldn't understand my accent (British so not the most complex) and after several attempts she bruskly informed me that she couldn't understand a word I said and I would need to get someone who spoke clearly Needless to say I cancelled the big deals as soon as I got off the call

They arrived early, and though not fast, were very thorough.

I was pleased with Freedom. The company reconfirmed my appointment the day prior to service. Technicians were timely and ensured what they do. They ensured their findings and made recommendations to increase efficiency of the unit.

Technician arrived on time and performed the maintenance efficiently everything went well.

Dan came during 11-12:00 time slot, called 10 minutes prior to arrival. Told us what he would be doing, recommended a surge protection and why it is used to protect AC compressor and condenser motors from power surges. He cleaned condenser, checked furnace filter, check freon, capacitor.

Great. san was punctual, friendly & knowledgeable.

Danie did a great job on explaining what he was doing from start to finish. He took the time to explain, what he was doing and also gave me tips to keep up the maintenance.

Rick was early, helpful and professional.

I don't know how much freon it only cost, I don't know, I guess it was fine.

Services were performed in a timely manner; technician explained problems clearly and fixed the issue.

It was all good...the called ahead of time to let me know they were on their way, they showed up on time, they were courteous, professional and clean.

Did good work. On-time, worked hard throughout the day, and described everything to me in laymen's terms. Would recommend to others.
