They were hard to schedule (which is the only downfall), because they do not do air-duct cleaning on weekends. However, the office and the guys who showed up to do the job were super friendly and did a great job.

I purchased a big deal for a furnace cleaning and check-up which took all of 20 minutes. A 20 minute check is hardly a full service cleaning and maintenance. Beware! The service provider came to my home, opened up the furnace, accessed a part and later indicated that the mystery part needed replacing (wasn't written down or referenced on a form ). The provider wrote his name on a the company sticker that measured at least 8x10 and he glued it on my furnace. Weeks later I called the company asking when would the defective part be available but it was never ordered. The customer representative stated it was up to me to request the part. As long as I have been an auto and/or homeowner, I have never had a company leave me to order machinery. What a rip -off! I spoke to the manager who was not a nice person and I will never do business with them for sure.

He called before arriving in a timely manner, was very knowledgeable and had the repair finished within an hour.

Willie came on time. He was very thorough and thoughtful (he wore booties when he came inside first because it was raining and he wanted to keep the house clean). He educated me about the A/C service. I am a return customer because of the first experience.

I called this company on 6/18/2014 because my air conditioning was not cooling the house. Only hot air was coming out through the vents. It was late, so I left a message for a call back on 6/19/2014. On 6/19/2014 at 8:15 am, I called and a female told me that the service call was $69. She will call me later or a technician will call me today before coming out. At 8:30 am a male was returning my call that I left last night. Informed him that I spoke to a female in the office, and she said that someone will call me today to service the air conditioning unit. He said that someone will be after 12 pm today. A technician arrived at 11:30 am. Rick was very professional. He told me that there was a leak. He could try to find the leak for $109 labor per hour, or I could put in sealant and freeon for @$350. I went with the cheaper route: sealant and freeon. After that was done, the freeon did not go to the evaporator coil, so I had to purchase the evaporator coil. They arrive after 2:00 pm today to install the evaporator coil. I paid $1300 for the evaporator coil, $109 for 1 hour of labor, and $69 for service call. I had a service man, Jason, from Riley Heating & Cooling in Melrose Park, IL. He came to my house on 6/18/2014, and he told charged me $185 for the service call. He didn't clean the air conditioning unit outside. Put a sealant and tried to put freeon, but it did not go to the evaporator coil. Instead of giving me a price for the evaporator coil, he tried to sell me a new unit for $5,300. And, he through out the cover for the air conditioning unit, and told me after he did it. I had to call the company on 6/19/2014 to request my A/C cover, and they told me that they had to order one for me, and they will put it on next week. Trying to show you the different between CROOKS (Riley) and a very honest company which is Freedom Heating and Cooling. I recommend this company to my neighbour at 1405 Silver Creek Lane, Melrose Park, IL, and he called Freedom Heating and Cooling, and he was serviced that evening, since they were putting my evaporator coil. All the employees that came out were courteous and friendly, and professional. Definitely will recommend this company to anyone I know.

I cannot tell you how pleased I am with Freedom. Their response was impressively prompt, and the technician was very informative. The installers were on time, courteous, and efficient. The work was performed and completed when promised. Except for the price (which was appropriate for the work done) the whole process was painless. These guys are A-1!!!!!!

Freedom came and saved the day on this specific hot summer day. Having bought a house the past winter, we tried to fire up the A/C to find out that it would not turn on. While several other companies could help within a few days, Freedom looked for a crew working in the area and they were in site within 6 hours. I was upfront that we didn't even know if the a/c worked since we just moved in. They did their Angie's list special to tune up my a/c and figured out it was simply the thermoset. They could have taken me for a ride trying to get me to replace the entire A/c unit, but they spent an hour to make sure they found the right issue. Best part is that I was hosting a small get together at my house while all this was happening. Their crew worked independently and simply grabbed me when they had something to report. They were clean, Independent, fast and got the job done. Price was competitive... Not cheaper, but right around what the average cost should be.
