Very well. Work was performed efficiently by a good two man crew. Worked was completed in a timely manner. System has operated very well in a very warm summer. They came up with a creative approach to get air conditioning into a difficult to reach room addition off the back of the house. They cleaned up after themselves as they worked so there was no mess to deal with. We are very satisfied with the finished product and the excellent service provided. In fact, we have signed a contract to have them do some work on our heating system in the next month or so.

I got two quotes before I got a quote from American Vintage Homes. When Mrak came out it was very clear that this company has the expertise that I wanted. I have a 120 year old row house and I wanted to be certain to preserve all architectural details without dropping ceilings, etc. for soffits. These people are experts and from the very first, it was clear that Mrak (who himself has installed over 500 systems in old homes) knew exactly how it could be done in my house with minimal disruption. The quote came promptly and they began work exactly when they said they would. The guys doing the work in my home were very professional and careful of my house and furniture. They also finished exactly when they said they would. Anyone who has an old or historic home who wants to keep it looking as close to original as possible should at a minimum get a quote from American Vintage.

Andrew arrived on time, asked me what was going on with my a/c and pretty much diagnosed it immediately. There was a blockage in the drain pipe that was making water drip all around our furnace/ac unit. He needed to cut through the pipe then cleared the blockage up and resealed the pipe, no more water drip. He was professional, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. I would definitely use American Vintage again and recommend them to anyone looking for a/c repair.

We've used AVH for several jobs from routine service to installing spacepak. They provide reasonable time frames, arrive in a timely way and are considerate of the house when they work. They also do an excellent job explaining their work and telling you what you need to know to be able to handle routine problems. Importantly they are practical about their recommendations and don't over-promise results in our 100 year old home.

Everything went very well. I think they're a very good local business in Evanston and they're available anytime to service your systems.

Very well done repair. My pump was out (hot water radiators) and they tried mightily to repair but in the end they had to replace the unit. Nice guys and knew what they were doing with this old house (c. 1904). WOuld certainly use them again

We have a few additions and need the duct worked tied in. He was unable to do this project but was very helpful when we contacted him.

Most of the work was done by Adam and Luke, who were timely, professional and pleasant through all the challenges. They were careful in my unit and cleaned up after themselves each day in addition to being respectful of others in my tier. Since the weather is cold and I have not had occasion yet to use the A/C regularly I answered N/A for quality, although I expect that it will be an A once I have some experience with it.

We called this company because another company who came out to do a clean and check on our 1985 furnace told us our drum humidifier was broken, but was unresponsive when I called to have them replace it. I called this company with the intention of getting an estimate to replace the humidifier, but it turns out it wasn't broken, it just wasn't turned on. He explained in detail how to replace the sponge and maintain the unit. I also showed him a couple of vents that didn't seem to be working. He showed me how the whole duct system worked, how to open and close the ducts, and which one probably went to which vent. He spent a long time answering my questions and saved me a lot of money since I didn't have to buy a new humidifier. I definitely plan on using this company again!

The highlight of the work that American Vintage Home did was the installation of ductwork into our house which previously did not have any. It took them four days to get all the ducts in. They were able to put new ducts in with minimal damage to our house. In fact, I don't think we had to repair one spot from their work getting the vents in. And several times, I had to ask their crew where and how they were able to get the duct in. They were pretty amazing. Moreover, other firms we asked to bid on the work claimed that it could not be done in our house. I was worried because our 1920's house has been recently rehabbed with new sheetrock. And I did not want to have to go around patching spots in the walls and ceilings after their work. And I didn't! So if you are looking to install central air into a house that currently has none, they are the place to go. Pricing was competitive. We added a whole house HEPA airfilter and upgraded the compressor outside. It's been four years since the install, and it still is going strong. But as I said, the install of new vents was the highlight. I'm not sure how they could have done a better job. The only issue we had with them was that the size of the unit (3.5 tons) they installed was a little on the small size. It works well at about 90 degrees and under but buckles under extreme heat. I also think they underestimated how poorly insulated our old house is. So my recommendation is to ask for an extra half ton on whatever they suggest.

They were very thorough. They measured every single window in our entire place. Compared to other companies, we were thoroughly impressed with this company. They also gave us a much cheaper estimate and cheaper options than the other companies.

We got many estimates and they were the only ones who would give a fixed price. Some companies talked about needing to install tubes on the outside due to our older plaster walls. They found a way to avoid this. They also stuck by their estimate even though more vents were added.

Those guys are superstars. They did the whole house pretty much. We've used them and probably done $40,000 worth of business with them. They are very professional and very respectful of our house. We have an old house and they are very careful with it. They are very communicative. We would use them for everything if they offered every service. We've had them in for emergency plumbing service. They designed and installed our air conditioning system. They have updated and installed almost all of our heating. They have done light plumbing also. We would absolutely continue to use them and we would go to their restaurant if they opened it.

They were knowledgeable, prompt, friendly and professional. It took more time to install the water heater than they had originally anticipated, but they stuck to the cost we had agreed on. They were great with our dog, making sure as they came in and out of the house, that he didn?t get out. They took time to answer all of our questions thoroughly and clearly both before and after the installation. They were more expensive than other companies we checked with, including our regular air and heating company that we work with, but we decided to go with them because their initial proposals were so much more thorough and clear than anyone else we talked to. They took time to make sure we knew what our options were including advantages and disadvantages of each choice. When you want a job done well, these are the folks to call.

They ended up being quite a bit more expensive than another heating and AC company we?ve used. They had a separate contract for heating and for air conditioning and it just added up to be more. Their plumbing has been great; we have an old house and a lot of guys don?t know how to deal with this kind of system.

It was a very positive experience. They were very professional. I didn't have any complaints.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. They did not charge me anything extra for the new vent that they put in. The quality of their work was very good and I was satisfied with their service.

Before we called them, I tried to figure out where all the components should go. Because we are on the second floor of a three-story walk-up, we had to have the blower in our unit. (Condo owners on the first and third floors have access to spaces outside the unit where they can put their blower.) I had one idea that I was not too happy about, but Marek suggested another, better location that would minimize the appearance. The men who installed it did a wonderful job. Along the way they had to modify some of the arrangements, but found solutions and kept them to the originally expected appearance. The carpenters helped to minimize the appearance of the tubing by lowering the ceiling (the original height was 9 1/2 feet), and adding inset lighting. In the end it everything looked great, and even though we haven't needed it too much this summer, when we have, it has been a blessing.

Great, I trusted their advice and workmanship all the way through. Prior to this, they had done some tinkering with a shower head we had difficulty with and charged nothing. A great company!

They were not able to get to the correct problem for a long time and always gave me some work around which did not last for a long time. I had to call them several times for the same problem and pay them for the work around. I was pretty disappointed with them because they are very bad diagnosticians. They try a lot of different things because they are not very knowledgeable about the problems and I had to pay for the work that was actually not required. I had very bad experience with them and would never like to use them again.

The workers at American Vintage are really quite good. They work fairly quickly. I am really pleased with them.

This company has handled our heating, A/C and plumbing needs for a few years. In this particular situation, our hot water heater broke late on a Saturday night, right before we were scheduled to leave for Florida on vacation. Our children and babysitter had to deal with no hot water on Sunday. Very early Monday morning, I called American Vintage from Florida and explained the situation and need for someone to come out asap. They had a service person to my home within an hour of my phone call and we had a new hot water heater installed by lunch time. American Vintage has helped us through several "emergency" type same-day-call situations. They are extremely reliable and the quality of their work is excellent.

They were very professional and very clean. They were on time and were very courteous while they were here. The prices were a bit higher than others.
