This is the second time we have used Dawson,s for tree removal, and will call them again. Their price is competitive. They were prompt with an estimate and on time with the work. They cleaned up;being very neat. My husband has been very pleased with their work. Very professional.

They did a good job. They cleaned up well. They were responsive to my questions. All they did was a good job. I would use them in the future.

wonderful job - creative, fast and cleaned up the area very well. impressive how well the team worked together; every man knew his job but pitched in to help when needed. when the stump grinder wouldn't fit through this old gate they got creative and figured out a way to make it work - very happy with the job!

These guys are terrific! They brought in the heavy equipment needed and a team of men to trim 2 very tall, mature trees. Earlier this summer a huge limb had blown off of my neighbors tree and cut my power line in half, requiring a visit from an emergency crew from ComEd to reconnect my house to the electrical pole. As a result, I became very nervous of potential tree damage every time the wind blew. When the team from Dawsons came out they were very respectful of my property and my nervousness about the possibility of any falling tree limbs damaging my house. They quickly (it only took 2 hours!) and professionally trimmed both trees and cleaned up all of the brush. When they were done the trees looked great and not a single twig was left behind. I will definately call them for any work I may need in the future.

The workers came right on time, did a great job on the trimming, and cleaned up in less than an hour. I would definitely hire this group again!

From the time I met with Steve Simms to receive an estimate until the last worker left after the work was done, Dawsons has been been a pleasure to deal with. They did the work just as promised. I'm happy to even say that my yard is cleaner than before they arrived. If I ever need tree work done again I know who to call.

I was very pleased and impressed with the work they did. It was amazing to watch them take down the biggest tree. In all I think they were here about 7-8 hours for the three trees. They ground the stumps and cleaned everything up very well before leaving.

They arrived as promised. Explained what they were going to do. They were in and out in a very short time and cleaned up everything. Other than the tree has a much better appearance, you would not have known they were here. I'd call them again without hesitation.

I got three estimates all within $50 of eachother. As a result, I felt Dawson's price was fair but not excellent. Steve came out to give an estimate for Dawson's and was the most professional of the three contractors that bid. Steve called the day before to let me know when they would be coming. A crew of four came with Steve providing initial guideance. They completed the work within 2 hours and cleaned up after themselves. During the process the crew worked diligently and carefully. The whole thing went off without a hitch.

They did an awesome job. I had used them before for a removal of a hedge, but this time they did some major trimming and pruning of 2 large trees. They got there exactly on time, the crew was polite and very professional, and they knew what they were doing. Their supervisor came out and reviewed the job and then came back to check the job at the end. They did the job, cleaned up very well and were on there way. I don't see to many companies work like this anymore, so I was very impressed. Good job!

Fine. 4 men were there at 8am as scheduled and were done with the project in half a day. The arborist that came out for the estimate did a nice job of explaining about my birch tree and cutting out only certain portions so that I could keep the tree for a little longer. He was one of the crew of 4 that performed the service.

I signed the day the came out to survey and in a week they were back out to trim the tree. It was snowing so they had to find a good time to come out. It only took an hour and the tree looks very nice now.

They did what they said they were going to do. They cleaned up everything and they came when they said they would. They seemed to have the most reasonable price.

They initially came out did an estimate and tagged the items I wanted removed. I made a decision about a month or so later and just called them out for the service.

Dawson Tree Service came out early on November 12, 2009. There were several men in the crew. Some in the tree and some on the ground. In my experience with tree trimming, when a branch or section of the tree is cut, the person cutting wraps a rope around the part that's been cut off and lowers it to the ground for the guys waiting there. These people did not do that. They just dropped all the cut branches to the ground. It was like bombs going off. Because of their methods, my garage has been damaged. The siding on the north and west sides of my 2 year old garage have been cracked exposing the wood. And shingles have been damaged. The bushes on the north side of the garage have been damaged. All they could say is "we're insured." Just because they're insured doesn't mean they have to go out and damage people's property. And, if I hadn't gone out there, they would have just left without saying anything. They got their boss and he's suppose to be looking into getting siding and repairing the damages. I told him I wanted this done before the snow falls and he wouldn't commit. Great service. I had just finished repairing the damage to my property from the tree falling in my yard. Now, I have to deal with these repairs. It seems that no one cares about anyone's property. These workmen just tramped onto my property stepping on bushes and geraniums breaking the flowers, breaking branches off without so much as a glance as to what they were doing. Since then, Steve Sims the crew's boss, has worked with me to get the damages repaired. All repairs were done by Basler's Home Improvement on Saturday November 28. I also received a call from the owner John Dawson to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and to apologize for the damages. He's also talked to the crew. Just want all Angie's List customers to know that they did repair the damage and are sorry for the incident. And, since I've read a lot of their reports before this incident, if I had tree trimming needs, I would probably give them the job.

Dawson's was out within a week to perform the estimate.

They did and excellent job. I called them for an estimate and Steve was out the next day to give me one. They came on the scheduled date and did an excellent job. They also did an excelent job cleaning up when they were done.

They were fantastic. I needed it done right away, because we couldn't pour the new garage foundation until the tree stump was gone - and they were out the next day. And, they did a great job. They're terrific!

Steve Sims returned my call immediately, and provided a written estimate within two days. I called his cell phone because I was worried about workers walking through my perennial garden, so he suggested holding off the work until the plants were dormant. He and the workers showed up on time, and completed the job within 3 hours.

John Dawson came out on 08/27/09 to give me an estimate and was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He informed me that it would probably be 3 weeks before they could come out and provided us with a written quote which was a very fair price. We just had a new cement driveway installed and John not only noticed but was conscientious enough to write on the quote "No Driveway!" so that his employees did not drive the heavy trucks on the driveway when/if they came to do the work. We accepted the proposal and John called a couple of weeks later to inform that they had an opening in their schedule and that they could trim our tree. Work was completed 2 weeks after quote was provided instead of the three he anticipated. John came out with his Supervisor prior to the work being performed since he was not going to be able to be there when the work was done which I thought was great seeing as this probably wasn't a very big job for them. The Supervisor and workers came later that day and did a great job and left no debris behind. I would highly recommend them!

They did exactly what they said. The tree was in the neighbor?s property line, so it was a little delicate to remove without having problems with our neighbor. I was very impressed with their professionalism and the way they did the job. Their pricing was reasonable and they also did good follow up to make sure I was happy with their service. I was very satisfied with their service.

Estimator showed up the day after I called Dawson's and left an estimate in the mailbox. After another estimate was received I called and sent up an appointment to have the bushes removed. Due to a backlog of work they needed approximately four weeks to get my work scheduled and completed. The crew showed on the 13th of Aug, performed the work, cleaned up and left. I am completely satisfied with all of my dealings with Dawsons and would not hesitate to use them again. I would recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Dawson's Tree Service was very professional and responsive. We are very happy with the work done. They even agreed to remove a small tree the day of the appointment that was not part of the original estimate (for a reasonable price). They did a great job cleaning up and leaving the resulting firewood. Now our backyard gets some sunlight!
