Description of Work: Had to unplug a toilet. But while here, asked about other issues with sinks and Jason took the time to look into each issue and offer solutions.

Description of Work: I called the provider to schedule an estimate for a battery backup sump pump installation. I spoke with Cass,who was pleasant, very informative and direct. He explained the different variables that could contribute to a flood such as downspouts, check valves and the city's sewer system. He gave me a lot to think about and research. Refreshing approach.

Description of Work: Second time I've used them. Came out on time, rodded the clogged line, Angie's discount, provided feedback on what might be causing the clog, recommended proper maintenance. Efficient. Definitely credible, trustworthy, and will use them again.

Description of Work: Water and garbage from the disposal in the kitchen sink backed up into the laundry tubs in the basement. Our house is over 60 years old. The pipes are galvanized and the kitchen sink and basement laundry tubs share a drain pipe that goes under the basement floor. The blockage appeared to be between the laundry tub connection and the drain pipe into the floor. I contacted J and S, having used them before. They came out within 30 minutes even though it wasn't an emergency. They augered the pipe between the kitchen sink and the basement floor. The laundry tubs drained and we thought the problem was resolved. However, 30 minutes after they left, I ran a lot of water into the kitchen sink and it backed up. We had not tested it thoroughly after the basement backup was cleared. I called J and S again and they arranged to have the same crew return, again within 30 minutes. Apparently the 'gunk' in the kitchen drain pipe had dislodged but not all of it had washed out. This time the blockage was in the pipe from the sink and was much harder to clear because they couldn't go down from the kitchen sink due to the configuration of the drain pipes under the sink. They were persistent and finally succeeded, but had to remove the garbage disposal in the process. They had recommended it be removed on their first visit because of the way it was installed and the drainpipe configuration. They thought it contributed to the original backup. It was several years old and fell apart during the pipe cleaning. That was the only bad part because it resulted in a flood of water pouring through the floor into the basement, getting several things wet in the process. No permanent harm done. Don't need a disposal anyway. Overall, we are satisfied and will call them again if necessary. In the meantime we are weighing the idea of replacing all the galvanized pipes and correcting the problematic configuration of drain pipes under the kitchen sink.

Description of Work: The relief valve on my water heater was leaking at the fitting. I called J & S Plumbing at noon on a Saturday and they had two people at my house in an hour and a half. Since the repair to my water heater would be expensive and because it was 12 years old, they recommended replacing the unit. I agreed and they had the work completed in about 2 hours. They did a professional job and cleaned up the area completely. I considered the price I paid to be reasonable and in line with other plumbing companies. I would recommend this company to my friends.

Description of Work: J and S replaced a leaking water heater with 24 hours notice. They were prompt, courteous, clean and charged a reasonable price. The first heater they took off their truck was dented, so they gave me a different one. No problems and I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: The ad was misleading. I wanted a new toilet installed but did not realize I needed to supply the toilet. He rebuilt my existing toilet so it worked properly. Did not need a new one. Worth the money.

Description of Work: I had water backing up thru the floor drain in my 1st floor laundry room, causing water to leak into my basement. J&S Plumbing was called and promptly arrived at my home. They diagnosed and corrected the problem quickly- a clog in the main drainage pipe in my basement. The plumbers explained in detail what was happening as they corrected the problem- I appreciated that. I was very impressed and highly recommend J&S Plumbing.

Description of Work: They did the plumbing in my 1920’s home. They installed copper piping. They were able to re-build a vintage faucet that I had from around the 1930’s. They are very skilled at their job. Their group was very helpful and knowledgeable plumber. They explained everything very well. They are very responsive if I ever have any other concerns as well.

Description of Work: I called J&S Plumbing to provide an estimate on some extensive residential plumbing work. I am having my basement remodeled and needed to upgrade the pipes, hot water service, and drain connections. Chris came out and took a look at the work to be performed and told me they would get back to me with an estimate in two days or so. After two follow up phone calls to the general number I never got a response or an estimate from Chris. I am not sure if the work was beyond their capbilities or they just weren't interested in new customers, but that is no way to conduct business.

Description of Work: They replaced a faucet and piping allowing hook up for my new washing machine. Two teams of h.h. gregg delivery men couldn't hook it up .. J and S Plumbing were a life saver .. especially because they came the same day I called them. |
