I was very pleased with their service. I had called a number of plumbers from this list who would not work on drain tiles, so it was wonderful to find a plumber willing to come out and diagnose the problem. On the first visit, they came and tried to rout the pipe, but were unable to do so. We then decided to have them excavate and take a look at the drain tile itself to determine why my window well was becoming a giant fish bowl . J & S has a wonderful team that answers their phones; they keep you up to date with status and well informed. The team itself was neat, tidy, cleaned up well, and even when they accidentally broke a window pane, fixed it before I even said anything. The cost was pretty much exactly what they quoted me, with an additional minor amount (they had to also break through my basement floor to get at the pipe, but recemented when the job was done). I knew I would appreciate them when the plumbers took off their shoes before traipsing through our home!

I loved having them come to my home as they offered good service and offered good rates. They were very accommodating to my needs and were reliable. The workers were very nice and pleasant to work with.

We had problems over the last year with the laundry room drain backing up with water and had a plumber come out and rod it with a 1-1/2" rod several times. It worked for a while but eventually we decided it would only get worse as our house is about 39yrs old so we started calling sewer cleaning companies. Even though J&S had quite a few good writeups on Angie's List, we got 3 or 4 companies to make sure J&S' estimate was fair. It was Labor Day weekend so pricing varied quite a bit with one other company adding a holiday call out fee. We decided on J&S and the following day they showed up (Labor Day) with no extra holiday call out fees, on time, with a 3 man crew and tractor with backhoe. They were very courteous, explained what they were doing during the job and afterwards they asked if we had any questions, made sure the city showed up to approve the permit and the work, cleaned up and put the dirt they dug up back in the trench.

I was happy with him coming and helping us by giving us his opinion. He found the nature of the problem and said it had nothing to do with plumbing and then gave us a recommendation of someone to use that could fix our problem. We had also used them almost a year ago to install a new toilet and sink in our bathroom and they were great then too, so that is why we continue to call them when we need something done.

Our bathtub would not drain and we tried to plunge and snake it ourselves to no avail. The problem became unbearable on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend, so we knew it was going to be tough to find a plumber working. We called several services that listed 24 hour/emergency services and J & S was the only service to return our calls. We were told a plumber could come out the next day (Sunday) at 9 am, he called to confirm around 7:45 am and was here promptly at 9. He quickly identified the problem, wrote up an estimate and did the work. He was also extremely helpful in explaining what he was doing.

They are excellent. I would highly recommend.

A sewer rodding about 15 years ago left a broken cable and a punctured sewer pipe, not mentioned at the time and not discovered until years later (long after paperwork and memory was gone). Once discovered, and even though I was not having any problems, it needed to be fixed before selling the house. J & S gave me a good estimate on the work and explained what needed to be done. We made the appointment for the work. They arrived promptly and began the work. To my surprise, they had not brought in a back hoe to dig down the 4 feet to the pipe as they had decided that bringing in that heavy equipment could damage both the lawn and sidewalk, so they did the digging by hand! Needless to say, I VERY MUCH appreciated that decision on their part!! The work was done promptly, they had scheduled the village inspection and were done and had the area cleaned up by early afternoon. I was very pleased with their work and professionalism

Plumbers very conscientious to make sure plumbing tied into some remodeling work that had just been completed. We were pleased with the outcome.

They responded in a timely fashion, provided an estimate of the cost and completed the work promptly. The one negative was the cleanliness of the job. The two plumbers walked into the house with their dirty workshoes on, did not place shoe covers over their boots and left the area where they replaced the sump pump check valve in a very messy state, water on the floor, dirty footprints from their boots. They did not acknowledge the mess and therefore did not offer to clean it up.

It went well. The plumber was a little late but he gave me all the prices up front and performed the work in about 2 minutes. He then tested the toilet with several wads of toilet paper to make sure that it was really clear. He then gave me estimates on some other work I might want.

The representative on the phone was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Someone came and roded the sewer that day. He found a spot that was broken and explained how it needed to be repaired. We had prior knowledge that there may have been a break in our sewer pipe. He immediately scheduled a repair for the next day and explained what the costs would be. My husband wanted to speak with the repair crew before any work was completed. The repair man was extremely patient and waited for my husband to get a chance to call us from work. Everything was thoroughly explained and they were meticulous with the landscaping, etc. The roding was about $200; the sewer repair was $1900. I would highly recommend J&S. I called many plumbers and did a lot of research prior to choosing them. I feel as though they charged me appropriately for the work completed. The only problem was that the man who did the original roding left marks on the carpeting on the stairs from his equipment.

They have same day service, and arrived within 40 minutes to replace a leaky valve on our hot water heater's cold water supply line. Work was accomplished in 45 minutes by cutting out the existing valve and full portion of PEX flexible tubing and replacing with hard copper tubing and a new-style lever-type valve. Our technician, Harry J., stayed and answered some other questions we had about other issues, and helped troubleshoot a water hammer problem with the washing machine. They were very courteous and proficient. We very satisfied with the work that was performed.

They were awesome! Came out the same day I called and informed me that they would be able to rod it out through the toilet downstairs. Other companies had told me there was no way to rod out the system unless they dug through my front yard immediately to fix the problem. J&S did give me a quote for installing the clean out and let me know they would take care of all permits. They even gave me information on a company who could help me clean up the mess that was left behind. I would definitely use J&S for the future work that needs to be completed.

They did the initial repair at the end of February. Then, in early April (a month and a half later), we used the spigot for the first time since the repair and found that it was still leaking out the back. I had them come out again for a repair, they replaced a valve stem/ small piece of pipe, and charged $135. I feel their charges are unjustified for the cost of the work, especially because I had already paid them to fix the exact same problem and they didn't fix it the first time. I've talked with the owner and he said that they didn't charge me a service call on the second visit, but the $135 was the cost of the tube. He was unwilling to do anything about the cost. I've spent several hundred dollars with them in the past and they've done fine, but in this instance, they failed.

The whole crew was very courteous and professional. Was able to do the job quickly, worked well with inspector who wanted a few things adjusted. Went over the line and suggested maintenance since we have two trees right next to the sewer line causing the problems. Estimate was actually lower than what was quoted to us a few years earlier.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS VERY SATISFACTORY, AND THEY WERE VERY REASONABLE. THEY ALSO CHECKED A LEAK FOR US, AND TOLD US THEY WILL WORK WITH OUT CARPENTER TO GET THE DAMAGE TAKEN CARE OF.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! THEY ARE PROMPT, (COME IN THE EVENING WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE) AND DID THE JOB WELL.

JOHN, THE PLUMBER WAS ON TIME, (ACTUALLY THE OFFICE CALLED AND LET ME KNOW EXACTLY WHEN HE WOULD ARRIVE). HE WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE ALSO CLEANED UP NICELY.

ALTHOUGH THEY COULDN'T FIX OUR PROBLEM ENTIRELY (BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SEPTIC SPECIALISTS) THEY SPENT A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF TIME HELPING US, INCLUDING THE OWNER. EACH TECH WAS VERY HELPFUL AND TOOK A PERSONAL INTEREST IN OUR PROBLEM.

I MAY HAVE HIRED HIM DEPENDING ON THE QUOTE HE WOULD GIVE. I HAVE MADE 3 CALLS AND HE HAS YET TO RESPOND. I FEEL HE IS UNRELIABLE AND WOULD BE CAUTIOUS IN HIRING HIM.

THEY CAME WITHIN THREE HOURS AFTER I PLACED MY CALL. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT.

I HAD TRIED ALL THE DO-IT-YOURSELF STUFF BEFORE.

THEY ARE ALWAYS VERY QUICK TO GET OUT TO US. THEY OFFER 24-HOUR SERVICE, AND THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND PERSONABLE AND THEIR PRICES ARE REASONABLE.
