They replaced an outside water spigot and needed to do some soldering inside the laundry room. They unplugged the smoke detector in that room (without asking if it was OK to do so) and broke the smoke detector in the process. We discovered that after they had gone.

Mark Brown from J&S did an exceptional job on the work completed. Mark was on time for the appointment, very professional and even took time to interact with my dogs. The work was completed in a timely manner and Mark cleaned up nicely before he left. Mark also provided an estimate on additional work as well as inspected our entire plumbing system. When we schedule the future work, it will be with J&S.

It was the first time I used them. They put in a first class pump. My brother looked at it since he is a plumber, and he said they gave us a good pump. The guy came out and did some repairs. There was still an issue. The owner came out with him the next time around. They looked over everything, and made sure there was not anything else needed.

It went very well, he was very profesional, explained everything to me and told me not to hesitate if I have an further probloems. He was very professional, fixed the problem quickly an was very reassuring!

We had a pipe burst in our house. The person came out to look at it and they were out here for 8 hours. They had to take the pump out of the crawl space to get to the leak. They came out on a Sunday and still didn't charge an outrageous amount.

After an initial stumble, Sean from J&S reached out to me to resolve our issues and provide a much more pleasant experience. I had the plumber over to figure out what was going wrong and fix it. The plumber spent a couple of hours working on the bathroom and checking the utility room once the problem was diagnosed and ultimately fixed the issue, then cleaned up after himself. Since I have a finished basement he came and went through the basement door only after laying tarps to make sure things were clean. The bathroom works again and the plumber from J&S had some recommendations for future prevention. I am satisfied now with the service I received.

Called and scheduled service for clogged kitchen drain. Was told someone would come out between 12-2 pm. No show and no call so I called the company and they told me that someone would be out by 3pm. My time is money too so I asked for a discount for the inconvenience and the said no so I cancelled the service call.

I found the experience to be positive....I was dreading having this work done but was surprised at how easy J&S made the experience. The individual who answered the phone was very helpful and accommodating, sadly I did not get his name. Mark was the plumber who did the initial estimate. He was punctual and very professional. He explained what was required to make complete the repairs and answered all of my questions. He was also kind enough to cover his boots to protect my carpets. Lou was the plumber who performed the work. Poor Lou, it was a tough job. He opened up the wall with minimal disruption to the kitchen. He cut thru the back of the cabinet neatly so I was able to put the back of the cabinet back together...Doesn't look perfect but considering what was done I'm very happy. When he opened up the wall he found an actual hole in the pipe, big enough to poke a screw driver thru. The pipe was wedged in a very very tight location, it looked impossible to remove with out breaking thru the back wall but Lou persevered and was able to get the pipe out with out any more damage to the wall and amazingly, minimal mess. He replaced the pipe and cleaned up so that I barely knew any work had been done. My explanation as to how hard Lou worked isn't doing him justice.....that pipe was in an awful awful place but he got it out. Not only did Lou fix my leak but he was also very accommodating and polite....even when I asked him to take his shoes off to protect my carpet.....the poor guy took his shoes off and on every time he went out to his truck, several times. Not one complaint! The cost was well with in the estimated price. No one enjoys having to have plumbing work done but I have to say this was pretty painless. Thank you Mark, Lou and phone guy for your professionalism, attention to detail and leaving my home clean and leak free. I will definitely use J&S again should I have future plumbing needs.

Great. Plumber was very considerate of my home. He arrived on time even a little while early. Went right to work clearing kitchen drain. Cleaned up floor. We then hired him to install new sink and faucet.

I had a damaged outside water faucet that would not turn off. It had frozen and the ice was building up in te pipe inside the house. John cut a very clean hole in the wall to get to the faucet so he could cut it out. He installed a longer faucet so it went further into the house to guard agaist freezing. He also used a higher quality faucet so I should not have the same issue I had with the old faucet. He also removed an old water softener that was no longer functional. John did a great job and cleaned up after himself. It was a very good experience.

Plumber explained things to me clearly and communicated well, but I feel I was drastically overcharged in the end which is the main reason for the poor review. He arrived at 9am on Tuesday, took almost an hour to setup, and took over 2 hours to get 12" of copper switched out. A second person arrived around 12 to help with running new PVC to the exit point in the home. After a lunch break, they were done by around 3:30 - 4:00. They put down some drop cloths, but not under the sewage exit point. I had to use a steam cleaner to get out the stains and PVC shavings they left behind. I usually obtain at least two estimates, and regret that I did not this time. He arrived at Mon at 9am for the $98 service call, which was rebated since I used them to do the work. He couldn't do the work on Monday because he didn't have all the parts on his truck. On Tuesday, he came back at 9am. The cost was $1600 for a "full day of work," $600 for a new ejector pump, making the total $2200 - 10% angie's list coupon = $1980. There are so many plumbers in the Chicago area - I will definitely use another company next time.

These guys were very professional, quick, and courteous. Daniel explained my options for preventing sewer backup into the house and helped me choose the one I wanted. J&S got the permit for me and came out about a week after we confirmed what we wanted. They got everything done in a day, and cleaned everything up - there was a huge pile of dirt when they dug out the sewer line, but it was all cleaned up by the end of it. They really did a nice job. Daniel explained how to service the clean check, and another coworker explained how to handle the new backup pump. I was very pleased with their service and would definitely recommend using them again.

Perfect. They always pick up their phone...so patient...price was very fair. The person who came out, John King, I believe, did a fabulous job and was super patient with making sure the blockage was out. This is the second time in 3 months I've had to have my sewers rodded, and the first company was no where near this caliber. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I'll be calling again!

I called J&S Plumbing and described the water stain in the ceiling which was evidence of a slow water leak. A plumber was quickly dispatched to my home. He removed a small portion of the drywall ceiling and found the source of the water leak at a T junction in the copper pipe. He drained the water lines, then replaced the pipe and T fitting. The whole job took less than two hours.

They are wonderful! They’ve showed up on time, and fixed the problem on their first try! Their work was very thorough and professional. I was happy with their service.

Overall, I think they were fine. They arrived fairly quickly, and fixed the problem to my satisfaction.

They were really good. It turns out that the sink was installed incorrectly, so they reinstalled my sink and resolved the issue. I was very pleased with their service.

I’ve been very satisfied with their service. They are prompt, polite, and professional. Also, I think the price charged for our most recent project was reasonable given the complexity of the job.

They came right in the time frame they stated and did the work wonderfully. The gentleman was polite and courteous and the price was not bad. Good clean-up.

We called J & S to install a new back-up sump pump system. The first visit, the plumber let us know that due to our current sump pit (shallow with a gravel floor), the pedestal-style back-up they usually install would not work well. He was pleasant, and helpful letting us know various options. We chose to purchase a suspended battery back-up from home depot, but have J & S out to install it. For the third time in a week, J & S came out within 2 hours of our call and did the work professionally, cleaning up, and explaining everything to us. The labor pice was definitely expensive, so I had to lower the score for that. I found all three plumbers helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. With all the storms this year, it was better to pay for promptness than wait for us to have the time to DIY.

The plumber was polite and seemed to know what he was doing. I had him come back and do another job that the price was more reasonable.

From my research the materials for installing a stand pipe should be below $30.00. J&S gave an estimate on installing the stand pipe as well as running additional PVC pipe outside so that we can run a hose for our back up pump. They said that the PVC pipe installation was only about $75.00. $950.00 was their quote for a stand pipe installation This is way too much. The cost should be below $600.00 for a stand pipe installation. There is no way that this would take 9 hours of labor to install at $100/hr. I believe that J&S is taking advantage of the recent flooding by severely overcharging vulnerable people in their time of need. I was shocked as we have used J&S before for sewer line cleaning and had found them to be reasonable.

I flew in from out of state to open up a house that had been closed up for 3 years so that my parents could move into it after they lost their house in a fire over the weekend. Numerous leaks and concerns were found when I ran the water for the first time after so long and I had less than a day to resolve it before having to fly out. My husband contacted J&S at around 8 AM and they were able to have someone at the house by 9 AM. Joseph and his assistant were great. They resolved all of the leaks and handled a few other plumbing-related tasks quickly. Joseph also patiently answered some of my questions regarding the hot water heater settings. I called J&S today to ask them to go back and hook up the gas dryer that I rented for the house and they are sending someone out first thing tomorrow. J&S is now our plumber!

Louis from J & S came out within an hour of our call the weekend of a large flood.He quickly restarted the water heater that we could not get going. He gave me instructions to make sure it stays lit until fully dry. Would definitely call J & S again.I gave a "B" on price, because plumbing work generally is so expensive. But I do think he did a great job and the price is in line with what we expected, especially given the high volume of work due to flooding.

I called in the morning at @ 7:30 and they said they'd have someone to my home between 11-1 that same day. Joseph and Jim arrived promptly at 11:25. They were super friendly, professional and efficient. They asked questions to assess the problem and checked several things before attacking the problem. They removed 1 toliel in order to rodd out the line. This cleared my "soft clog" (i.e., toilet paper) blockage. They reset the toilet and implemented a fix for a cracked phlange. They also reset a second toilet as it was loose and leaking. Great with explaining the process and answering questions. Would definitely use them again! Thanks, J & S for quickly fixing my problem!
