They informed us they may need to come back as the first worker may have torn, or else the roots did, the sewer line under the house. We have no crawl (partial) nor basement, only a slab. My husband mentioned after they left that he thought they would have had a camera and they could have determined that for sure. But we will call and discuss that ourselves. Thank you.

This is the second time I used J & S this year. I chose them because of their stellar performance back in April when they repiped a basement slop sink/washer. Called around noon today for a sewer routing and they showed up @ 1:30pm. Gaspar gave me a reasonable quote and two hours later I had a fully cleared and tested sewer line. They were thorough, quiet, and cleaned up after themselves. Gaspar also gave me a quote for an outside clean out ( without the usual "hard sell" I would get from a lesser company). Like I stated in my earlier review, I've found my plumber.

My call was promptly returned, the servicemen arrived promptly, did the job efficiently and were very professional and cordial. I will keep this provider's name handy for any future jobs.

When I phoned, scheduled appointment at a time convenient for me. At appointed time, phoned to tell me that they were coming directly from their previous job. Arrived on time. Performed all jobs which I had requested promptly and neatly. Patiently explained to me how to turn water on in a way to minimize chances of damaging pipes.

They did very good. I would use them again in the future.

Mark came on-time and provided best service ever - new piping is made 100% proffessionally and we had nice chat in middle.

Based on a recommendation from a neighbor, I had contacted J&S Plumbing two previous times. They were great at consulting me on the work that I wanted done, if it was necessary and the cost involved. We decided neither job was necessary. They did not charge for the consultation nor did I feel pressured. A month later the gas company alerted me to a gas leak in one of my pipes. J&S was the one and only company that I called, they came right out, gave me a quote and did the work in the time they said. Their technicians are very courteous, respectful and helpful. I hope I don't have to call a plumber again, but if I do, J&S will be the one I call.

I called to inquire about the costs to do the work and decided to make the appointment based on the prices I was quoted. When they arrived they didn't seem to know why they were there. I explained what I needed as I explained over the phone and right then I was quoted prices much higher than when I called. Keep in mind there weren't any extenuating circumstances (like a hard to get to pipe) that came in to question. Everything was as I explained over the phone. I questioned the serviceman about his pricing versus what I was quoted and he did a lot of fast double talk and had me a bit confused. The work was performed well, they were neat and cleaned up, and had no issues with quality. Once they were done, the pricing changed again with added confusion. At this point they went to their van to complete the paperwork. The serviceman came back in and apologized and said he spoke to dispatch and I was indeed right about what I was quoted over the phone. At this point I was not about to bring up the fact that I had the Angie's List coupon for their service and decided to let it be. Better communication with the serviceman and the person that quoted me over the phone, along with arriving with a priced out work order would have been the difference between an "C" and an "A" from me. I still feel I paid too much by not being able to use my online coupon.

The repair job took longer than expected because the pipe was in a very difficult to access section. Ended up giving the OK to cut through the metal (original) cabinets to gain access. Overall, I am satisfied and do not have a problem with the work performed and the outcome of the new piping. However, I would have hoped that the crew picked up all the drywall and 2x4 fragments in the cabinet cavity and vacuumed the area. Don't get me wrong, they did clean up by sweeping and wiping but not to my expectations. But then again, they did give me a price break I think on top of the 10% discount for being an Angie's List member so I can't complain. The crew was nice and I had a pleasant experience. Also liked the fact that they re-checked for least one last time before their departure as I have seen only a few plumbers do that.

I found J&S Plumbing in my Angie's service directory and called 1-847-690-0384 on Monday at 8:00A.M. I was told that they could do the job the same day between 1 & 3 in the afternoon, they would call first. They called at noon and said they had someone local who had just finished a job in Bloomingdale and could come right over, would that be ok.? SURE.. Upon arrival plumber (Mark) put on booties and placed a drop cloth on the kitchen floor to keep entryway clean. Mark took care of drain cleaning business, cleaned up all spatters, flushed drains with water after rodding them. All is good!! Thanks Mark.

The plumber (Ivan) was prompt and very friendly. He explained the work and did an excellent job.

I had a small leak coming out of a copper end cap. Of course I made it worse when I tried to fix it. J & S came out within a few hours - on a Sunday - and fixed my mess. And they didn't gouge me with an outrageous price because it was Sunday. I?ll definitely use them in the future.

Worked through the evening hours to replace/re-attach trap pipe to pipe in wall. There were no leaks when they left, but in the morning the pipes were leaking, I called and a worker came out promptly that morning and fixed the problem. No additional charge and no problems since.

They came out on an emergency basis. It took them much longer than expected to call me back. Once Pauly got here he rodded out the section that needed to be cleaned out to clear the line. I then asked him to use a camera to see if there's a pipe broke. He got the camera out. Took between 30 and 45 minutes for the camera to start working. Once it was working the picture was not clear. It was hard to tell what really is going on. It SEEMED like perhaps it was just a severe root issue but really hard to tell because the picture quality was so bad. I asked Pauly to tell them at the office to follow up with me so someone could come out to look at the situation and develop a plan to resolve the issue. He said he wouldn't be back in the office until Tuesday. I said ok. When I didn't heard anything, I went on the company's website and found the president's email address. I emailed him about the situation. NO RESPONSE. As a SERVICE provider it is not acceptable to not respond to a request for service. The work performed was good. Most of the equipment was good except the camera.

Very prompt and right on time. The disposal was bad and it was replaced (so no more leaks under the sink). Plumber (John) also swapped out the kitchen faucet with the new one and tested everything to verify nothing was leaking before he left. We appreciated the promptness (we can now use both sinks). We also appreciated the discount. Very happy and will definitely use them again

The call back was not as fast as I expected. However, they called back (where other companies just ignore the call) and had a plumber out shortly after the callback. Pauly did a good job at getting the line opened up. Because this is an on going issue I asked if he had a camera on the truck. I was shocked when he said yes as most other plumbers in the past have said they don't and look at me like I'm from Mars. It was NOT his fault that the camera did not turn on. After playing with it for quite sometime he got the camera to work. He got an okay picture and it was inconclusive as to whether the issue is severe root, broken or shifted pipe.

I couldn't ask for more. They came right out after I called (same day). They were so honest and reasonable! I wasn't expecting to have to do as much as they estimated and the plumber they sent recommended that I do specific projects first to make the work fit in my budget.

They were marvelous. They were very efficient, polite and they knew exactly what they were doing. It all went very smoothly.

At 8:30 on a Sunday night before a holiday, I discovered a slight leak in my faucet underneath the sink. After trying to tinker around with it myself, I made the problem worse and the spray head came apart. I called J&S at about 9:20; by 9:30 a plumber was on his way. The problem was fixed and he was back out the door by 10:40. I thought $150 was a little pricy for what was done, but even if I'd been able to fix it myself it certainly would have taken me hours and a couple of drinks! All things considered I was extremely satisfied.

I have used this company many times in the past with excellent results. I needed an estimate on a number of jobs and Matt and Joey came the next day and were on time. In fact they were early but called first. It was a Saturday but I was not charged extra for that. They explained what they were going to do and since the price was quite reasonable I told them to go ahead. They also gave me an estimate on a sump pump replacement and I will have them do that too. They were courteous, friendly and professional. Even my dog liked them! She rarely lets anyone pet her except me but she let Matt pet her repeatedly. Gotta love it!

Mark was willing to replace switch on ejector sump pump but given its age 18-20 years I decided to replace it. He explained everything, is very personable and performed the work quickly and was very neat. Will call Mark again. He also looked at my water heater which is the same age and made recommendations for its replacement and gave me a price.

I called first thing in the morning in hopes the provider could provide service that same day. I received a call within 10 minutes (maybe even less). I was told they could provide service that day and was given an estimated price and time of service. The plumber (Brian) arrived ahead of schedule which worked great for me. Brian was professional, courteous and he cleaned the work area thoroughly after he completed the job. This experience was exceptional from start to finish. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future!!!

This was a great experience for me. I had a major problem with my drains backing up. Matt & Patrick showed up within an hour of my call back from J&S. Matt explained what they were going to do and how it had to be done. They promptly started working on taking my toilet off the wall and rodding the pipes. In a short time, I had my drains open, toilet back on the wall and my bathroom cleaned. I would recommend J&S to anyone asking me about a plumbing service. Thank you all for your quick response and total professionalism in getting my problem fixed.

New sump pump, reconfigured pit, replaced battery, inspected another sump pump, removed old battery and debris.
