The job went perfectly. They knew what they were doing, explained away any concerns I had about the process. They were prompt, friendly, expert and professional. These guys will be my go to plumber.

I've used J & S plumbing for multiple services and they are always timely and professional. This was an easy job, but I've had them do more complex things and the plumbers are always very knowledgeable. They aren't the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Did all the work expertly and professionally, have them on speed dial for emergencies. Fair prices, responsive and good work.

i'm very pleased with the response that I received from J&S Plumbing and the work that was performed. Chris showed up on time, was very professional and kept me informed of the work that he was doing. Despite having to run in and out to his truck a few times, he was very considerate and took his boots off to make sure he didn't track any snow, salt, etc. into the house.

The quote and hours were way off. They sent one person for a two man job. He did solid work but it took roughly 9 hours and cost about $250 more.

overall very good experience. dispatcher called in advance, crew good with family and dog. they did a very good job cleaning the drain out, totally fixed our problem.

Not well. Said he needed a part to fix it. We called numerous times. Got only occasional responses, never got the part or the tub fixed. We have contacted someone else to fix the on-off switch.

I was very happy with the service I received from J&S Plumbing. I called them early on Christmas morning about a problem with my hot water tank. I received a return call in no less than 3 minutes and they said they could have someone out within 45 minutes. Their price for the work was fair and did not include the emergency fee that most companies charge for coming out on a holiday. The space for my hot water heater is very tight and when they arrived they found it was about 2 inches too small for the heater they had on the truck. Normally, they said they could have someone from their shop deliver the right one but because it was a holiday, no one was working in the shop. They came back out the next morning and installed the right tank. To get to the hot water tank, they had to disconnect and reconnect my washer and waived the normal fee for that. They also noted a problem with my washer and did their best to fix that so that it would not leak. J&S Plumbing exhibited an exceptionally high level of customer service that isn?t very common anymore. I will definitely call them for any other plumbing issues I have.

Technicians were able to come out next day. It wasn't an emergency or anything but it's nice to know they don't charge additional for weekend / after-hours / emergency work. Both crews were nice. After rodding, we arranged for a second crew the following week to come out to do an camera inspection with an city inspector. The crew showed up half an hour before the appointment to get everything prepped. We could not get the camera around a bend and didn't/couldn't see what we wanted, it's hardly their fault. They spend a good amount of time trying to get through. The prices were higher than the plumbing service we normally use, but very reasonable. I think we will use this company for routine maintenance in the future because of their punctuality. It's worth noting that if you plan on doing any excavating work, they do not dig in the city of chicago, which is too bad because I get a good vibe from them and would probably pay a bit more than other plumbing services.

In my basement, is the heater room. In that room behind a small wall is the main sewer line. There is a small, but steady leak coming from somewhere and it looks to be from the main sewer line. I called and told them this issue and asked them to send their smallest guy, as its a tight fit back there. He gets here and goes to look at the area. He can't get to it, because where the subpump is, is also a Radon Migration system (basically the subpump is sealed with Silcon, to keep the Radon gas in). So, he wants to get to that area, but doesn't know anything about Radon Migration. So I call and find out that it's just sealed with Silcon and is fine to open and service. He does and says that sure, the subpump well is dry, but if your subpump isn't working, that could cause the problem. (What?) So he unplugs the water detector and plugs in just the subpump, it doesn't work and he says, OK that's the problem. Let me sell you a new one. Ummm, ok well, lets check that outlet first. And well enough, I switch outlets and the subpump works just fine! Now the guy has no idea what is wrong and tells me to just call back if it gets worse, that will be $98. Well, issue is still going on, and you better believe that I'm finding and calling someone else.

A sewage backup at a basement floor drain, and also into a basement bathtub, sent me to Angie's List after my plunger had no effect. I chose J&S based on several Super Service Awards and proximity. The phone was answered very quickly on a Saturday morning, and I was told a plumber could come in 2 hours or so. About 2 hours later, J&S called with an expectation of 30 minutes, but the crew arrived 15 minutes after that call. The crew head donned protective boot covers, made a quick assessment, and requested the location of the outdoor access to the sewer line. We removed snow to find it. Although the blockage had suddenly freed itself before their arrival, he said it would back up again soon unless remedied. The team dragged a heavy device to the opening and rodded from there to the house and also from there to the city's sewer main. Snow was falling so densely, we could barely see them from the house, but they just did their work. It was done within 30 minutes, they had no need to clean after themselves, and they were able to use larger equipment than if they'd worked inside. The supervisor gave us a better cover for our clean-out point than what we'd had, at no charge. Now 4 days later, there is no sign the problem will return. Other reviews led me to expect a slightly higher price, so we were content with the $329, especially for service rendered promptly on a weekend.

Very well. The guys were punctual, courteous and cleaned up everything. They explained what they thought the problem was and what they would do to fix it. After they were done they explained what they found which I always appreciate.

After meeting with another provider who wanted too much for the work, I called J&S. They were able to come out in a couple of hours so my day off work would not be in vain. John was congenial and set to work immediately upon arrival. He did the various jobs in a couple of hours, cleaned up the mess from rodding the sink and charged me a very reasonable amount for the work. My drains are clear, my new faucet looks great. I will happily use J&S again.

I was very impressed with the company's professionalism and courtesy. I received a phone call 20 minutes before the crew was to arrive to let me know that they are the way. Jason M and his helper came and took off their shoes ( I appreciated this since I had just had my carpet cleaned the day before) When I mentioned that I had a small problem with my laundry room sink, Jason offered to look at it and he was able to fix it .Now it drains fully.

We had this water spigot dripping for quite a while. It was getting worse. We had called another plumbing company before we called J & S Plumbing. The other company showed up with no parts available to remedy our problem. Manted to come back the next day but we already had other plans. I called J & S plumbing, they were at our home in under in under an hour. He looked over the problem and gave us an estimate. We agreed since he parts available. Finished in about an hour and a half. He showed us what he did and he even installed an inside shutoff valve. Great professional company.

Ivan showed up when he said he would. We have two outdoor faucets; front and rear of house. I had fixed the rear faucet replacing O rings to stop it from leaking. I couldn't do same for front faucet because the faucet wouldn't come out for me. We called J&S. They said the whole unit needed replacing. I said ok; it cost $335.00 to replace a faucet. I think that was a tad expensive for an hour and a half worth of work plus material. They did a very good job. Ivan was a total professional, but $335.00 was a bit more than I expected it should cost. A cursory look at Home Depot showed no outdoor faucets with stems costing more than $35.00; that means J&S is charging $200/hour for labor...

Called and got an appointment same-day. Plumber showed up exactly when they said and quickly diagnosed the issue. I felt $360 (parts + labor) was a fair price for new garbage disposal. Also received 3 year parts warranty and 1 year labor warranty included in price. Was told it would take about an hour and it took 40 minutes. Easy! Would definitely use J&S again.

It was great! They offered to come on the day we called, but we opted to have them at 9am the next day. They called to confirm at 8:30am and arrived a few minutes before 9. Dan and his crew were able to replace the leaky "trap" and "rod" the washer drain, as well as the main line out of the house. Dan was particularly informative about ways to prevent future problems. The whole crew was very pleasant and thorough. They left everything very clean. We will not hesitate to use them again.

Crew showed up in the morning, quickly got to work to excavate the front (including removing some bushes my wife has always hated that were going to be disturbed anyways) . Once they exposed the pipe and examined the break, they had to crack the foundation wall around the sewer main (was included the quote). The crew did their best effort to minimize dust and mess in my basement as well as the front yard. Once complete, the crew installed an external clean-out, scoped the line from the breakage area out to the street, then flushed the line of built-up sludge. Crew dealt with village, backfill, advising on how to allow (and help) the area to settle. Overall, it was a quick and painless experience for what I had feared to be a painful and laborious process. Could not recommend more given this type of project.

All installations have occurred without a hitch. Easy to schedule, plumber punctual and knowledgeable, no post visit leaking. Pricing seemed reasonable. My great disappointment has been in their follow up service to the hot water heaters. We have well water and approximately 2 weeks after installation of the hot water heaters our hot water smelled like rotten eggs. I waited a few days, hoping the smell would disappear. It didn't. (My kids will only take cold showers, and it is embarrassing to run the hot water in the kitchen with guests over.) We knew it was the heaters because no odor was apparent when we ran the cold water, and in July had our well heavily chlorinated. I did some research online and discovered that the iron bacteria in our water is eating away at the sacrificial anode rod. We have a softening system, so our only option is a powered anode rod. I called J&S, told them of the odor, mentioned we had a softening system, and that we would like 2 electrical anode rods installed in our heaters. I was told that they weren't sure if they could get powered anode rods from the supply house and that I could purchase one and that they could install it. I expressed that I would not have a clue what length to buy, or which type should be purchased for a Rheem model. Quite frankly, they are plumbers who install Rheem models and should know which powered rods work best for them in these cases. It has been nearly a week and a half since my first call notifying them of the odor. I have not received any follow up information as to whether or not the supply house has any powered anode rods in stock, if they can order more, how much they might cost. I have been blown off in subsequent calls to try and obtain that info. I have been told that, "The guy who orders parts is out today." and "He just left the office and when he comes back I'll call you". No calls back. I still have highly offensive smelling water, and have been forced to find another plumber to fix the problem. Bottom line for everyone else - If you just need basic plumbing services and are on city water J & S Plumbing is fine. If you have your own water supply, hire another plumber who is experienced with well water, and one who values customer service.

Everything went well. I had purchased a new faucet for the bathroom that didn't fit the hole in the counter and Mark quiickly got one that fit. He was professional and friendly. We had used them previously to install 2 toilets. Imagine our suprise when we dicovered the same great plumber! He gave us great tips and kidded around with us while continuing to work.

I had a section of 4" cast iron drain pipe break and started leaking water though the basement ceiling. My house is 47 years old and they used cast iron drain pipe back in those days. It's heavy and it corrodes after 40 or 50 years. I called a couple plumbing companies to come out and look at the job to give me a quote. J & S gave me a quote on the spot, the other company took 4 days to get me a quote. I decided to use J & S before I even got the other quote. Time is of the essence when you can't use the bathrooms because the plumbing is out. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. The guy that came out to do the estimate was professional and left me feeling like he knew exactly what needed to be done. (this work wasn't going to be easy) He said they could even do the work on Saturday. On Saturday, 2 guys came out to do the work. Paul and Saul. They were professional, and courteous. They put drop cloths down and got right to work. Paul was the lead plumber and there was not doubt in my mind that he was the right guy for the job. I felt totally comfortable with the crew that was at my house and they did a great job. They exceeded my expectations. Based on this experience, I couldn't imagine ever using another company in the future, I was that pleased. If you need a plumber, look no further.

Communication was fantastic. We emailed back and forth and were able to set up a date and time right away. They came when promised. Price was same as estimate. Technicians were professional and answered all my questions. We will call them again if we have another problem and highly recommend them.
