They were prompt, professional and efficient. They are also changing their name to Water Well Services, incorporating 'The Well Doctor' and 'Burgess & Sons' into their business.
Description of Work: Our old pressure tank was leaking so I called to have it inspected and they replaced it with a new one.

Fair. I dealt with Brian throughout; he was good about returning calls and providing information / explaining things. On his initial visit he verbally quoted something like $1000 - $1300 (I may be slightly off on that but not much) for the well repair, including digging the hole with a small backhoe. I was concerned about doing it before Nov. because of the damage it would do driving over our native plants. Looking around indoors he pointed out an aerator on the pressure tank's supply line that he said would have been installed when an old mineral filter was installed, and should have been removed with the filter because it severaly restricts the supply line and makes the pump work harder. Before leaving he mentioned that the bulk of the cost was for the backhoe and digging; if I had somebody else do the digging the actual leak repair would be only $300-$400. I elected to do that. I later asked Brian on the phone about removing the aerator and he said that would probably be $100-$150 (so a total of $400-$550). That call also involved several other questions of mine and he seemed impatient to get off the line, though it was evening by then and he may have been done for the day. I did ask for and receive The Well Doctor's insurance agent's name and company so I could verify their coverage. I didn't want to dig all the way to the leak until the last minute, to avoid making the leak worse. When I was almost done I notified Brian and asked for a 1-2 hour notice before his arrival so I could finish up. He said he could probably get to us the next day or the day after. He ended up giving 90 minutes notice the next day. I'd spent the morning uncertain whether they would be out that day; knowing more would have been nice though I realize these sorts of companies can't always forecast their work 100%. On arrival Brian looked at things inside and outside again and wrote up an estimate for, I believe, approx. $630-$730. He didn't offer an explanation of why it added up to a fair bit more than the original (verbal) numbers, especially since there was no indication from him that either task appeared more difficult than expected but I didn't query him enough about it. I ended up paying $650, so a fair bit more than originally expected. My guess is that Brian threw out too-low numbers originally. Brian and his helper got both tasks done in what appeared to be a straightforward manner. They were good about taking their shoes off before coming indoors. From what I could tell (not an expert) he seemed to do a good quality job. The outside repair showed a small leak afterwards which I *think* he addressed well enough but it may take a little time to tell. The "Would I hire again? Yes" is conditional; if I had to I would, but I'd really prefer finding another company that was more professional and consistent about estimates.
Description of Work: Repair of a slow leak from my well head and (later) removal of a restrictive aerator on the supply line from the well into my pressure tank.

Went great, Brian is very knowledgeable and did a fine job. Contacted on Weds, not an urgent job but was able to come the next day. Described the problem over the phone and he gave me an accurate estimate. Was able to text him some pictures of the tank & setup and he came in all ready to go. We were also having rust bacteria smell issues, he chlorinated the well and we ran into the sink/tub lines. After a several hour soak, flushed out the system and all is well. An example of his knowledge: before getting started he dropped the softener into bypass to prevent any containments into that system. (Previous guy failed to do and caused issues with the softener). Nice guy, knows his stuff.
Description of Work: Replaced the pressure tank, pressure gauge, pressures switch and shocked the well.

I recently purchased a new home with a well. I noticed there was a strong sulfur smell in the water. I contacted The Well Doctor and talked to them about it. I was informed that they could come over and dechlorinate my well to remove the strong, offensive sulfur smell. I initially spoke with Stacey who was very friendly and responsive. She told me that Brian could come over and fix the problem. She said she would have him call me, and within an hour he called me and discussed the problem. He was very friendly, professional and helpful. He told me he could come by my house the following day to fix my problem with the sulfur smell. Brian called the following day to confirm as promised, and came over and dechlorinated my well. He gave me some tips and great information about my well, as this was very new to me and his input was much appreciated. I would highly recommend Brian and The Well Doctor as they were very responsive, effective and reasonably priced. I was completely satisfied with the work Brian performed and would not hesitate to call him in the future. Working with The Well Doctor and Brian was a very positive experience!

Initially, I called 2 of the "well respected" well drillers in the area (1 gave an estimate in person). Both informed me they could fix my leak; however, a bunch of things could go wrong and I could need to drill a new well. I told them I didn't have the money for a new well if that happens; and they had the attitude like well that's how it is, sucks to be you. This stressed me out completely, I was literally losing sleep over it. When I called the Well Doctors, Brian was awesome. He calmed me down and said a bunch of things have to go wrong for them to have to drill a new well. He came out the first day and tried to pull the pump up, but couldn't move the pitless adapter for 15 - 20 minutes. I start thinking, oh gosh, I'm going to need a new well, but he pulls out the muriatic acid and said he'll let it sit overnight and come back tomorrow. The next morning, it still wasn't moving, but he was patient and tried a variety of techniques and finally was able to pull up the pump after about 45 minutes. He was also very patient with me asking a bunch of questions and invited me over to see down the pipe a couple of times to show me what was going on. In the end, he was able to remove my old pump and there was a hole in the pipe about 8 feet above it. He replaced everything, even the O rings on the pitless adapter so hopefully it won't be as hard to pull up next time. Now, I have the best water pressure I've had since living in this house. I wonder if the other 2 companies I called before would be as patient about wiggling that pitless adapter up or if they would have just yanked it up, broke something and say oops, looks like you need a new well like I said. I'm so thankful I called The Well Doctor instead!

Great! Brian and his assistant did a great job, they were at my home for couple hours, found once he got inside the Well that it also needed new wire and a few other parts, it is working fine. I did however have a complication with my sprinkler system after getting the new pump. I called and talked to Stacy and Brian, they were very concerned and helpful. I then called a licensed plumber to make the repairs and everything is working fine. Everyone at Well Doctor was concerned and thoughtful till I got my problem with our sprinkler system working. Stacy even called to see how it was going the day the plumber was here.

I called the Well Doctor on a Saturday after having problems with the well pump in my house. They were able to come out and address the problem on Monday, pretty good response time. They also brought all the parts needed to repair the well (a new well pump). Nice. However, they charged an arm and a leg for it. They charged $1400 for the $500 pump, I understand some markup but this seems overkill. They also charged $700 in labor for 2 guys for 3 hours ($115 an hour / guy). After this the final charge was $630 for misc materials, tools, and fuel. That's alot of misc materials. I tried talking through these charges with them but they just said and quot;it is what it isand quot;. Unfortunately for me I needed the well working that day in order to close on the sale of the house and had to proceed with the highway robbery. They did good work, but I would never call these guys again.

Response from The Well Doctor
Member in response to your review as discussed the pump you had for 500 simply was not the correct for that application. As far as your questioning on the misc. charge, that was for materials needed to do the work properly such as drop pipe to the pump and wire to supply the pump with power. None of those were avalible to use because of the conversion from a jet pump to a submersible. the charge for labor was very competive considering it was all done by hand because the well was located in the basement.

I called at 7:30 am described the problem that I was having and was told that someone would call me back in a half hour. At 8:00 I received a call, discussed the problem once more and was given an estimate over the phone. I really appreciate this because there are very few places that will do this for you. I agreed on the initial estimate and asked for a scheduled time. I was given an option for a morning or afternoon visit. I selected a morning visit and they arrived within an hour. Very prompt service. The pump was removed and options were given to me with explanations on each option. I appreciate the explanations so I could make an informed decision. No pressure sales tack ticks just information which is good customer service. I selected the options I wanted and they completed the task. They flushed the well line for a while to get rust and sediment out and instructed me on how to complete the flushing of the system. The water runs clear and the pressure is consistent with how it should properly operate.
Description of Work: The following services were performed: 1) Well 3/4 hp pump was removed and replaced with equivalent pump. 2) 100 ft of steel pipes were also replaced with Schedule 80 PVC pipe. 3) Check valve added in well. 4) 105 ft of 12/2 power cable replaced old electrical wire.

He came promptly and fixed the problem. I wish I could have gotten it done for less but that was their standard service call price.
Description of Work: Our pump was clicking on and off frequently so air was pumped into the pressure tank to bring the pressure up to normal.
