Work was not completed

We both really liked Julian, and he got started quickly and did a very good job. He has several different people working for him, and he remedied any mistakes that were made. Julian was honest with us throughout the process, which goes a long way when choosing a contractor. I think our communication could have been better at times, but most of that was our never having had such a project done before. We are really happy with the finished project. We will be hiring him again to finish the bathroom once we have saved enough to pay for it. I feel comfortable recommending him to anyone who needs a contractor.

We hired Quality Services because they were the only contractor that followed through with a bid on our project in a timely manner, and were the only contractor that could start before August. Julian, the owner, is professional, knowledgable and personable. Julian had his subcontractor, John, carry out the project on his own, who is outstanding in knowledge and experience, but we needed more manpower to get the job finished in a timely manner. However, even though the job went on much longer than we expected (and were quoted), we are very happy with how the work turned out. If you're looking for expedient work, you may need to hire elsewhere. If you're looking for it to be done right, Quality Services will do it for you, and even will give recommendations along the way that will make your project even better.

The project started fine with us leaving deposit and Julians sub-contractors showing up at agreed date / time. As project continued sub-contractors arrive late daily and would announce early departures. As project progressed when challenges arose Julian's team made excuses of what they couoldn't / wouldn't do rather than communicate and offer solutions even if those solutions would have required additional cost. As homeowners we would have been open to discussing options to any obtacles. At this point we have paid Julian the reamaining balance for the job and check has been cashed. Julian's team attempted to leave site without cleaning up. We had to contact Julian to have his crew return to clean up w/ a shop vac, scrape the floors of excess mud and finish small details. We did not get to do a final walk through after clean up because they left unannounced. We later inspected and found many areas of concern. We emailed Julian photo's of the inferior work (ceiling light fixtures cut too wide, edging in multiple places exposed and jagged, bubbling tape jobs, remaining sanding - see photo's) and set a meeting for him to inspect the work on-site. He visited our house and agreed the work was not complete and wasn't ready for priming / painting. A week later Julian sent me a text message and stated his sub-contractor would contact me and take care of the remaining issues. I sent Julian a email of the remaining work expectations that he agreed upon. Julian's sub-contractor sent me a text message during the week stating and quot;I won't do a whole basement or spend a entire day out thereand quot;. Feeling this was Julian's responsibility to manage his sub-contractor I forwarded him this message and voiced my concerns. Julian's sub-contractor came out on a Sat morning claiming he wasn't aware of what work needed to be completed, raised his voice, made several excuses and stated Julian should finish the job himself. Shortly after this he left abuptly and stated he was going to buy materials. After 1.5 hrs the sub-contractor failed to return we reached out for Julian but had to leave a message. Rather than a phone call to investigate the situation we received a text message stating and quot;I'm not prepared to work w/ people who show disrespect or threaten my employees - we will not be coming back againand quot;. This accusation couldn't be farther from the truth, however Julian didn't show us the professional courtesy to contact us regarding the actual situation - even after we provided reservations concerning his sub-contractor's text messages earlier in the wk. Three days later I reached Julian via phone and he agreed to come out and finish the remaining work himself. Julian chose to come on a day I wasn't available to supervise his work. Thus, I left a list with my wife of the agreed upon repairs that needed to be completed. He worked roughly 2 hours, did not complete the list of expectations and left unannounced prior to my arrival home. I called Julian to see when he was returning to finish the list and sanding but was again forced to leave a message. Immediately he sent me a text message stating and quot;I won't be coming back - there is some light sanding the painters can doand quot;. and that is the last communication we have had. I tried to reach him for 3 straight days following that last message with no return calls. We were hoping to resolve this issue internally, but Julian has chosen not to communicate further. Because of this we felt warranted in filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and obligated to write this complete review to warn Angies List members to beware of this company. Their communication is poor, work inferior and integrity questionable at best. I'm attaching some what their owner considers completed work to let you base your opinons on for yourself.

I saw Julians truck out and about and called the number on the back. He was out to my home later that evening to give me an estimate for the work. I though the price was very fair. He and his guys showed up 2 days later to do the work. There were no problems. I was very happy with the work and the price. I actually want them to do some more work--but they have been too busy to come as soon as I needed so I had to move on! But I will always check with them first for all my home improvement projects moving forward.

From start to finish, no problems at all

Overall, Quality Services did a great job and Julian was very flexible with regards to changes in plans. The quality of work was very good - although I noticed a few minor imperfections which prevented me from saying it was perfect. The value was excellent for the quantity and quality of the work. I will use Quality Services again.

Didn't have anywork completed.

My husband found this company listed on craigslist, and they were fantastic. The owner is a really nice guy (with a british accent!) that came out to check out what we wanted doing-we wanted our old patio tearing out and a new unilock patio put in its place. They were an ''authorized contractor'' for Unilock and that was important to my husband, I guess the bricks have a lifetime guarantee? The owner came out and gave us a pretty detailed estimate at almost a third less than what 2 other companies quoted us. Cheaper price doesn't always mean quality I know, but in this case it did. The workers were fantastic, they had it all done by our deadline, even worked Saturday and Sundays. We are very very happy :) I think my next door neighbor is having them do their patio too.

Because we had so much rain this year it took much longer than anyone expected. Every time the wood dried out there was another rain storm and things were delayed more days. It was worth the wait because they did an excellent job and the house looks great.
