I complained to the sales manager but he assured me it was a misunderstanding. Maybe it was, but buyer BEWARE I received a call last week from the sales department trying to sell me products. I guess the office paperwork is confused like the sales team
Description of Work: provided a bid to encapsulate my crawl space.the bid did not include removing the rotted band board or regarding the yard to redirect flow of water from the home. I was very disappointed that a company would charge a homeowner 12K to encapsulate the crawl space and not rectify the water issue or damage band board. The representative was very polite and showed me extensive videos. My insurance company confirmed the band board was rotted.

It took sometime to make a decision because of the cost factor. It is costly, but it was necessary. The crew was punctual and they were done two days. The space was about 8,000 sqft. They said that the materials and installation have a life time warranty except the sump pumps and back ups. It is work well so far.
Description of Work: in a crawl space, they installed drainage board,s layers of waterproof membrane, two sump pumps with back up

The project went extremely well. They provided all the information I needed, in a booklet, so I could understand the process. They drilled holes in the basement walls, they were able to pull the basement wall out with the anchors. They cleaned up the yard, and cleaned the basement. On the basement walls there are boxes covering the wall anchors. I had one leak in the basement from the anchor and they came right out and fixed it. They were professional and did the job in a timely manner.
Description of Work: My basement foundation was bowing in and needed some structural work. They attached anchors to the wall, then drilled holes in the yard and attached some sort of heavy duty rods to connect to the holes in the yard. Not sure of the correct terminology.

All went well. The service men showed up on time and preformed the work described without indecent and on schedule. They had extra concrete left over after the work and patched a few holes in the floor as well. I would use Woods again.

Jose and crew arrived earlier than scheduled, which was great for me. They worked steadily at removing dirt, shoveling and raking dirt, and placing back the retaining stones for the garden bed border that had to be removed when they installed the foundation piers. Pier work had to be done on the outside of house since my basement area is finished with drywall and carpeting. Dirt was levelled and raked both for the side bed and the garden bed on back corner of home. Everything was done very professionally and completed in a timely manner. I was very pleased! Jose answered any questions I had and was very patient with my concerns. I feel very confident about the work done by Woods Basement Systems, and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: This service was follow-up to foundation pier work installed in November 2014. Due to weather conditions, completion of landscaping work to fill dirt and replace stone border for garden bed had to be delayed until today.

In the beginning everything seemed to go well during the in-home measurement except for the dreaded sales pitch about how they are the only company that you can trust do do something like this. I first contacted them in January and they came out on February 9th to look at the project. Six weeks passed and I never received a bid so I called with no return call. A week later I contacted them via Angie's List and a week and half later they responded. I finally spoke with them on the phone and they agreed to work up a bid and send it. When I got the bid that work was not close to what we spoke about at my house. They missed the mark and I'm very disappointed. The gentlemen that came out to do the bid knew I needed the work complete by May and exactly what needed done. My fault because I had only called Wood's and was going to use them for the work and I did not get anyone else to bid the job. Because of this I'm 2 weeks from my needed completion date and back at the beginning of the process.

Job went very well. Miguel, the foreman, was very professional. Explained what he was going to do well. He answered my questions well, and showed me the completed work. He was careful about keeping the work areas clean, and cleaned up well afterwards. He and his team (Reggie and Cesar) did an excellent job of laying the discharge pipe around obstacles in the landscaping which could not have been easy to do. Also I was worried about the grass being damaged a lot during placement of the pipe but they did a very good job of replacing the sod. I would highly recommend Woods Basement and the team they sent out today. The initial service representative David was also very professional and would recommend him highly also to evaluate any needs for a waterproofing project. Mark

Woods Basement systems is all about treating their customers with respect. They get an A+++ from me. Obtained an estimate from 3 different companies via Angie's. Woods was not the least expensive or the most expensive, but they were most professional. On the day they came to give me an estimate, Nolan was their representative. He explained everything clearly every step of the way. Gave me several different options in several different price ranges. Also the system is guaranteed for as long as I own my home, and is transferable to the next owner. That will a major selling feature when I sell the house. After he left I had several questions and he and the folks at Woods answered all my question very quickly and completely. When the work was scheduled to be done, Woods contacted me a couple of times to make sure I would have everything "prepped" and ready. There is some work the home owner has to do before the system is installed. My house is about 100 years old with a stone foundation. I know Woods has a lot of experience with this type of basement. Their web site was very helpful in explaining what and how they system would work. When the system was installed it was completed on time and with no issues. In fact they had to make some adjustments and added to the amount of work they had to do, but did not charge any extra. A month or so later there was an area around the Sump Pump the concrete started cracking and some moisture came up through the cracks. I called Woods and they sent someone to look at that section of the system. They said it needed to be redone and they scheduled someone to come and fix that part. Again the work was completed on time and by very professional workers. Another A+++. I cannot recommend Woods enough. Great Job!

Was very pleased with the service! They sent background on the salesman coming to visit and his experience and called to confirm our visit.. Originally it was believed that 5 inside jacks "polls" was the best option considering the proximity to neighbors home, but upon evaluation from there engineer "ground anchors" became a better option and that was installed.. Only time will tell if it works, but so far seems good. There has been one downside, with my adjusting foundation, we have noticed the floors squeaking more dramatically.. However, it could be just a coincidence, but I'm not sure what type of contractor will repair floor squeaking..LOL

The guy who came out for the estimate was great. He was very professional and did a detailed inspection. The service was done quickly. The foundation has been secured, but it is still not fully level with the rest of the house. They explained later that it would not raise the house back to where it was, but that was my fault for not understanding it all. Only problem I really had was scheduling a visit. It took a lot of work since they "require" the homeowner to be there during the inspection. I had to speak with a manager, who was the owner's daughter, and it took a while for her to listen to my situation.

I have no complaints about the work, so far, or the workers, I have complaints about the salesman. There were multiple inaccuracies with the information the salesman gave us. The salesman said our wall was bowed out 4", when the workers came out they said it was only 1" bowed out. The salesman also told the outside of the house was going to be excavated and a plastic membrane would be put against the house, but the workers said the excavating couldn't happen because there wasn't enough room. Finally, the salesman said that the widow wells couldn't be filled, but the workers said they window wells needed to be filled. The salesman left the phone on speaker when he called in the contract and he told the people he had sold 11 joists, they cheered like it was a huge success. So with the inaccuracies the salesman had given us, as well as the cheering, we feel like we've been taken advantage of and led wrong in every turn. Also, on the last day the receptionist called us and told us they needed a check immediately, that they were waiting on it. We raced over there and got there only to find out we had more than an hour.

They send you wealth of information about their company, and about the water proofing system they have for the basement, they even have online videos that you can also pull up yourself to get more explanations about things. The sales people are very patient. They even helped moving furniture when they came to our home. Someone was picking up furniture that my husband and I were giving them, and they were having a little trouble, so they helped, and they came back and did all the measurements. They are not pushy at all, they will follow up with you like any other company will, but they are not pushy, they are not high pressured, they want to know what you want as a customer, and if it sounds like it is not going to be in your ball park, then they will try to work with you to see what they can do to help you out. They do finish basements as well, so we may use them again in the future.

I was really pleased with their service and they did a good job. It wasn't cheap. The people were nice and I would recommend them.
Description of Work: I used the basement waterproofing service of Woods Basement Systems Inc. They filled up the walls and the floor. The basement is divided in three areas. One is a concrete floor. The middle part was up a little bit and at the front of the building the third part was earth space and I was getting a lot of moisture from the earth area so they fixed the barriers down and fixed the walls. They installed a super heavy duty dehumidifier.

The field crew that did the actual work were outstanding, very helpful and did their jobs well. The office and salesman were a different story. The salesman said we could put the sump in the farthest corner and the schematics they sent showed it in this place so we hired an electrician to put in the outlet. The work crew showed up and said the sump pump could not go in that corner. So, we had to hire an electrician again to come out for $185 to put in another outlet. The work crew chief arrived on the 28th and said the windows were not on the truck and did not know when they would arrive. We agreed to wait on this 2 day job until the windows were in. The office, Heather, called right away and said the windows would be in Tuesday or Wednesday, so the crew started work. On Wednesday, day three of a two day job, I called and spoke with two people at Woods office and was informed they did not know if the windows were in the "yard" yet, but each person assured me they would call me later that day. Heather also informed me it was my own fault for not waiting for the crew to come before the outlet was installed. But the salesman, the schematics and paper work they send out ahead of time said an outlet needs to be installed. She agree to pay for half of the install but in the end took the $185 off the bill. I did not get a call about the windows until the following Monday when I was informed a crew was on the way. The window wells they brought out were the wrong size. The windows were installed. The crew returned Friday, 9 May to finish the window well install, finish of the of the 2 day job. When we called to pay the bill, there was lots of confusion as to what was taken off the original bill. Multiple contracts with numbers owed. Heather said she could not give us an itemized bill, the numbers were only for inventory. Will, the crew chief, called Josh, who immediately emailed us a dollar breakdown of the items purchased. Susan called later from Woods and said she would send a breakdown of the work which just turned out to be a listing of the number of items purchased with no dollar amount attached just the number of units purchased. This job was a stressful, not knowing when the end date was and we could not put the basement back the way it was, putting things on hold so we would have a free date when it would be convenient for them to finish the 2 day job. The lies and deception of the office staff during the construction phases. I would not recommend this company for any job. I feel bad because the field crews were excellent. Perhaps the office staff and salesman should go out on a few jobs so they can see how their product is installed and the amount of work on the homeowner prior to the arrival of the job start. I rate them a 0.5 out of 10. Never use this company for anything.

IF YOU HAVE A BEAM POCKET LEAK, DO NOT CALL WOODS BASEMENT SYSTEMS. For larger problems they may have great systems but this was my problem. First, I called for an appointment and had to wait almost 3 months for my appointment. They were prompt and courteous and described the process to fix the beam pocket. However, they stated they could not provide any guarantees or warrentees on the work ( ANOTHER RED FLAG, SEE BELOW). They also stated that if there were further leaks they would charge me again to return. They came shortly after accepting the bid and performed the work. With the next large rain storm the leak was actually worse. I called and they came out within a couple of days. At this point they recommended an entire basement waterproofing system for up to 22k. I have a relatively new house (6 years old) and only this one problem. At this point I called another company (should have done it in the beginning). They described a similar injection process but cost 1/3 less and offered a lifetime warrenty on their work. There was leaking from the holes that were drilled for the injection which I was told indicated that they did not inuject enough product in the holes. The take home lessons" 1. For beam pockets only, do not use Woods. Their best work seems to be for larger leaking problems in basements. 2. Look for people that will offer some form of warrenty or at least be willing to reinject once if there are persistnat leaks. 3. Get multiple bids!!

These guys were excellent! They were able to schedule the work quickly once I signed, and arrived promptly on the scheduled work date. The installation required approximately 2 8 hr days, and Jesser, and Miguel and his crew were professional throughout the work. So far, our basement has been dry.
Description of Work: Ben from Woods Basement Systems came out, took an assessment of our baement drainage and house leveling, and provided a quote on the same day. I appreciate that he was straightforward regarding the need to perform leveling (there was none), and the overall plan for basement waterproofing from these guys seemed like it would last longer than what other waterproofing providers suggested. For the work, we decided to go with a triple safe sump pump, a perimeter trench drain with drainage at both basement entryways and a cleanspace wall coating, to cover the existing limestone and divert water to the sump pump.

I had them come out to provide a quote for a leak in the corner of the basement. I received two promotional/spam emails but never a quote. I called and was told to expect itm After a few days I called again and was assured it would be coming. No quote ever came. Thats fine though. Although I was curious how much more expensive they are than others, this company seems more concerned with upselling rather than treating the initial problem.

With the basement, it took on water from that tornado. It was right in the middle of our kitchen renovation. We were very happy with Woods Basement Systems Inc. We had the service contractor and just got out the jobs to different people after Woods Basement Systems Inc. told us what we needed to do. They were very efficient and very clean. They're very cooperative. We just had absolutely no complaints with them whatsoever. They're absolutely marvelous. We were happy with their pricing. They were wonderful.

Installers arrived on time and met with me to discuss all the details. After everything was finalized they went to work. I did have a change to the order on the placement of the lawnscape outlet. This required approximatley 30 more feet of PVC pipe. After telling me the new price, the foreman had no problem accomodating for a longer discharge line to satisfy my concern. The crew worked all day and completed 95% of the work. The lid for the sump pump was still on order and they needed to insulate the entrance to the crawl space. When they returned, two weeks later, it only took them a couple of hours to complete the job. The opening to my crawl space is a small egress window. The crew cutout some foam with a reflective material on one side to help keep the outside air out of the crawl space. They also removed a dead rabbit along with some of the insulation that had fallen to the ground due to moisture. Woods Basement is a little pricey, but they were the best I found for crawl space repair. No other company has the patented products that they have. They will take the time to educate you on what needs to be done and the science behind their process.
Description of Work: Woods Basement installed a radon mitigation system for my basement and crawl space. They also insulated, sealed, and cleaned up my crawl space using their clean space technology. This included: the clean space cover, drainage matting, vent covers (to seal the crawl space), wall cap (used to cover the holes in cinder blocks), terrablock (used for insulation), smartpipe (french drain around the perimeter of crawl space), a sump pump, ice guard for the discharge line on the outside of the house, and a lawnscape outlet for the end of the discharge line.

I received a letter in the mail letting us know that Woods Basements had done work on this house and it was time for routine maintenance. I responded and an appointment was set up. I wanted to know whether there was an existing warranty and how old the system was and how it was set up. David was the service tech assigned the service call. He arrived on time and discussed the system with me. He told me that the system is more than 10 years old and that they did not install it. He said that in 2009 they did a service call and replaced a sump pump which was no longer under warranty (it did have a 3 year warranty). For the service he ran a hose and filled the sump pits to check out the pumps and discharge lines. He also told me that there was a high water alarm on one of the sump pits that was not working and that he had installed a new battery too. The next day we had a heavy rain and I heard the pumps running and was concerned about the high water alarm. I decided to try another battery and that's all it was. David had installed an old battery with expiration date of 2010. Everything was great other than this battery problem. I will do the annual service myself from now on.
Description of Work: We just purchased this house and hired Woods Basements to do preventative maintenance and checkout our sump pumps and basement water proofing systems and familiarize me with the system.

I purchased a house that had a basement wall that was bowing in approximatetly 3 inches, and was told that Woods Basements installed the anchors and garenteed the wall was stable. I called them and they said yes the work was under warrentee. So I purchased the house. Within the firste year I called them out to make a claim and they came out took some measurement and he left. We never heard from him again. We called back to the main office and they said there was no paper work saying they did any work to the house. We ended up paying $30,000 to have a new basement wall put in.
Description of Work: Basement wall supported by anchors.

Response from Woods Basement Systems Inc
We strive to provide every customer with our absolute best in quality customer service, so we are grieved that a breakdown in communication happened. Our records include a fax confirmation containing a copy of the original contract and warranty for the previous homeowner on July 8, 2009. On May 6, 2010, one of our service technicians conducted an annual inspection of the wall anchor system, and our office scheduled a follow-up appointment for July 9, 2010 to conduct another transit reading on the wall. When we called on July 8, 2010 to confirm the follow-up wall anchor inspection for July 9, 2010, we were informed that the inspection was unnecessary because the new homeowner had taken the wall down.
