+ -1 moreBob returned my initial phone call within a day and came out to give me an estimate that same week. We scheduled the job for a few weeks later. Bob was punctual, efficient and most of all, did a beautiful job. Additionally, he cleaned up when the job was finished. His price was fair and I definitely plan to use his services again in the future.
Description of Work: Bob installed crown molding in a bedroom.

Description of Work: Needed a broken window repaired and reinstalled. Tenant had removed it and did not repair before he moved out. Mr Thom was polite, efficient, professional and very competent. He came for the estimate quickly, finished the job quickly, repaired and reinstalled the window and made a new oak trim stopper for my window matching the old wood (100+ years) very well. Would use him again in a heart beat. Sandy

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with all aspects of the job performed by Thom Carpentry. They laid drop cloths to protect my carpet. Cut the molding in my garage because it was raining outside. Fully cleaned up both garage and areas in the house where installation was done. The cost was very reasonable for the amount of work and skill required to perform it. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: I needed some difficult cove molding cut and installed in my living room and dining room. The end results look beautiful.

+ 0 moreAfter the brickwork was repaired, I needed to have a repair on the interior damage to my bay wall with three windows. The plasterer recommended Bob to repair/replace the wood in the windows. Bob replaced the damaged pieces while keeping the decorative crown molding and other pieces which were not damaged. He began his work before the plastering and came back afterwards to put all the new and original pieces back on the windows. After his work was complete, there was an unexpected problem with one of the trim pieces and Bob came out that day and replaced it immediately. He did a wonderful job and also recommended a great painter in which he coordinated his work.
Description of Work: I had water damage due to a brick leak around my wall and windows. Bob replaced the damaged wood around the three windows while maintaining the integrity of the style.

+ 1 moreI'm writing this review nearly 4 years after the fact, so I'll share what I noticed about and appreciated about working with Bob (without all the detail). He was on time every day. He has a really kind and gentle demeanor. He pays attention to detail. He always cleaned up at the end of the day and protected our floors and furniture. There were lots of challenges in the project (e.g., moving a doorway that is built into a brick wall, turning the direction of our stairs), but Bob just figured it out and got it done. My husband and I LOVE our kitchen, the addition, and all of the modifications Bob made to put the house back to rights. He is aces.
Description of Work: We contracted with Bob Thom to rehab the rear part of our house, which mostly meant our kitchen, but also included moving door ways, reversing the turn of our stairs, building in a pocket door, finishing a room addition, and all of the carpentry and finish work. The kitchen required of Bob: gutting and rebuilding the kitchen walls, ceiling and floor; installing new wall and base cabinets, re-routing the plumbing; installing appliances; installing flooring; all trim; and installing the ventilation system. While we used multiple contractors, (some of whom were recommended by Bob) we used Bob to help us plan the complete rehab and room addition, so he was our 'main guy'.

+ -1 moreHe has done a really great job. I have some cove molding that was stained and needed to be replaced. He took a sampling around to find something that would match, He couldn't find it so he just made it. He was reasonable, prompt and a good communicator. He does large and small projects.
Description of Work: He has been doing all around carpentry for 6 months for meincluding repairing cabinets, putting a new counter-top on and patching and replacing baseboards. He also replaced beams on a porch.
