Our central air-conditioning system wouldn't cool when we turned it on in the spring. There turned out to be a coolant leak at the valve. Two other HVAC companies told us that the valve couldn't be replaced without replacing the entire manifold, and were quoting prices well over $1000; one of them recommended replacing the entire central A/C system. Premium Mechanical showed up on a holiday weekend, without additional charge (since they were doing another service call nearby), diagnosed and fixed the problem within half an hour, and charged less than a third of what the other companies were asking. They were friendly and professional the whole time. The A/C has been running through a record-hot summer, and we've had no more problems.

Our water heater was well past its normal usable age, so we decided we needed a new one. Premium Mechanical nstalled a new one and disposed of the old one. The work was done quickly and professionally, and at significantly lower price than other companies were offering. They left no mess afterwards.

I got home from spending the night at my friend's house and my condo was 58 degrees when I got back. They were at my place on a Saturday within an hour of calling and the fee for the service call was the same as it would have been for a non-emergency on a weekday. I was also given instructions on how to take better care of my furnace to prevent this from happening again.

Process was slow, but not due to anything under Premium's control. I'd check progress periodically--Betty shared information willingly, and she was always pleasant, despite the fact that my problem occurred at the height of a cold-weather snap and during the holidays. Premium made a total of 3 trips to my place, and final bill was $185 parts, $110 labor, which seemed reasonable to me. One very small and picky thing: second two fellows who came were careful to take their shoes off without being asked, and they were also very careful of the curtains next to the unit in the cramped space in which the unit was located. Guys on the last visit didn't take their shoes off (I didn't ask them to), and were a little oblivious of the curtains. No damage however, either to floors or curtains--as I said, it's a small thing. (I've had other service companies put on paper booties over their shoes--probably easiest.)

The company was very responsive and seemed very knowledgeable about heating systems overall. I am getting a few more estimates to see how they compare but, if they're in the same ballpark, will definitely hire Premium Mechanical. (Again, they seemed very knowledgeable and pointed out things about my heating system that other companies had missed.)

The service was professional.

They also found another problem and knocked that out for an extra hundred dollars. I thought they were really willing to work in my price range. They also worked with some unique scheduling issues.
