C V Hardwood Flooring

Everything went very well. Vasile showed up on time for the estimate appointment and gave us a written estimate before leaving our place. The estimate was detailed, very specific (with several options in case the floors turned out to be in bad shape once they were uncovered), and much lower than the other estimate we got from another contractor. We set a date to start but unfortunately had to reschedule, and he was very flexible and worked with us on a new time. He budgeted 2 to 3 days but finished everything in a day and a half, which was great. He and his team showed up on time, worked efficiently and thoroughly (no evidence of shortcuts). His employees were polite and professional. They sealed our cabinets to keep dust out and cleaned up thoroughly when they finished. Communication throughout the process was stellar -- lots of updates and texts, so there were no surprises or extra charges. Fortunately, the wood underneath the old flooring was in great shape, and Vasile and his team made it look amazing! They only had to replace 9 broken/damaged planks, and they blend seamlessly with the original floor -- you really can't tell them apart. I could not be happier. I have already recommended him to other people in my building and would definitely hire him again.

The floors are GORGEOUS and the work was done very quickly. We met with Vasile on 4/15 and explained we needed all of this done within two weeks before we were set to move into the house with our two young children. Vasile and his team worked around the clock to get this done for us. He was finished by 4/26. We are so happy with the results and highly recommend C V flooring. A very fair price for the amount and quality of work done too.

Vasile was prompt,courteous, and friendly. He even offered to help me move some of the heavier pieces of furniture. He answered all my questions and worked hard. I have refinished floors in the past, his experience and craftsmanship impressed me.

Vasile was incredible. We had another contractor that botched the floors, stripping them poorly then staining them way too dark. Vasile was able to come in, strip everything completely, restrain and seal them, giving us beautiful, like new floors. Additionally, there was one slat that was rotted out that he was able to seamlessly replace. He kept us fully apprised of each step of the process, and was able to work with the fact that it was February and cold, and that our initial contractor had done no venting we had issues with the fumes affecting the other tenants in our building. Vasile not only was very sensitive to this, he took the time to explain to the other tenants what they could expect, and we had no issues at all. Almost a year later our floors still look as good as new. I would recommend him and his company in the highest possible terms.

This is the second time I've used C V Flooring. Once for a 1,000 sq ft condo, and again at our new home. Vasile is a real professional. He gives a detailed estimate in writing up front, and sticks to it. He and his team work quickly -- both times he's finished days ahead of schedule. He has a good eye and makes useful suggestions to ensure the job is top quality. If you want your floors to look great, and don't want a headache getting them done, call this guy.

I had three or four other contractors come by and take a look at my floors---and all of them either said it wasn't fixable without tearing the entire floor up, or quoted a ludicrously high price. Vasile came in, took one look, and said "We can work with this.". He provided a very fair quote, explained every step of what he was going to do and how he was going to do it, and was able to start work the following week. My hardwood floors are on a slanted pattern, so it was difficult to remove boards in the middle and replace them as it requires a lot of cutting at angles, but he was able to do a superb job replacing only as many boards as needed and not having to replace the entire floor. The sanding and refinishing was done with minimal dust and mess, and the floors look absolutely perfect. Would absolutely use CV Hardwood Flooring again if I ever have any more flooring needs!

They arrived on time and finished on time. The work was great. We got 3 coats of the 2-part swedish system to be more durable and it took a few days for the smell to be out the house so we were out for a week altogether. It makes such a difference to get new floors and it makes it like a new house. They were very courteous and we have no complaints. They were cheaper than 2 of the other quotes (one quote was almost double) and a little more than the fourth but are great value for money. I definitely recommend them to anyone.

Overall, they were a B+. I would use them in the future.

I had really believed the floors would need to be replaced in my much abused 1870 workman's cottage. the floor had linoleum tiles glued down and a Victorian lacquer red stain. Vasilly evaluated the wood and said they could be restored. He applied his craftsmanship and hard work and made the floor into something that really added to the value and beauty of this old house. He took the time it needed to remove all the old stain and very gooey adhesives and corrected many areas of damage before applying green products that gave the floor a fresh and lasting easy to maintain surface. 15 years ago he worked the same miracle on my main room's maple hardwood flooring which was in equally bad shape. I should not been surprised at the transformation of the pine floor in my office after his earlier work which has been standing up beautifully to the test of time. From free estimate to the days of finishing my job with expertise and craftsmanship, it was a completely pleasant experience - in spite of what an upheaval a job like this can be. Outstanding job!! Floors had 2 areas where boards had completely broken into open holes and multiple weak "spongy" areas. The floors are now very solid and don't even creak. Though not originally part of the work, Vasile removed a defunct radiator valve protruding from floor and its pipe located under flooring. He wanted to do a quality job that maximized total floor appearance. Did the work at no additional charge. Hand sanded and refinished floors flush against base molding quarter round. (Another service advised either the newly painted quarter round would have to be removed and then replaced with new [unpainted] quarter round after floors completed, or, alternatively, the floors could be done within perhaps 1/4" of molding without removal of quarter rounds.) Vasile provided us with much information so we would understand the work that would be involved. Also gave us instructions on proper maintenance care of floors. He and his assistant vacuumed the entire apartment and stair entry when they finished, They left the apartment clean. The floors look absolutely beautiful.

I love this company! They did a great job. The floors and stairs look beautiful. It's messy work but they did the best they could to keep my place clean. Would highly recommend them.

The previous owner had done an ugly DIY walnut stain. I was having some other work done in the bedroom and since the furniture was removed decided it would be great if the floor could be refinished also. Vasile was able to come out in about a week. He and his assistant took a great deal of care with sanding the floor (dustless system) and used a hand sander around the edges to avoid marring the quarter round trim. They matched the stain as closely as possible to the existing stain in the hall and other bedrooms. The finish is beautiful and really shows off the grain in the wood. Very pleased with the results!

Vasille and his crew did a wonderful job. The work involved 3 bedrooms, lr, dr, kitchen and pantry in a typical brick bungalow. They were done in 5 days. Vasille communicated well throughout the project. Highly recommend. Would definitely use again.

Excellent Job - he very thorough with the quote and discussed all sorts of options (type of stain, color, finish, etc) and clearly Vasile is a stickler for detail. Based on his knowledge and friendliness, I'd have gone with him but his quote was surprisingly far lower than the other vendors I got quotes from. My kitchen floor was so ugly and he made the Douglas Fir glow. I love the way it looks! Vasile strikes me as a bit of a renaissance man - we chatted a lot about vintage maps - all in all, a great experience!

Vasile was very thorough in inspecting the work requested and provided a detailed estimate with a breakdown of costs. Approx 14 hardwood floor boards needed to be replaced, all new quarter-round installed, new thresholds installed, new wood floor vents installed, etc etc. The floors were then refinished with a high quality polyurethane finish. We appreciate the ' old world ' quality of the workmanship and the floors look amazing.

The new floors are beautiful!!! Everyone who sees them marvels at how beautiful they are. Mr. Contra was very prompt. He showed up when he said he would and did the work we agreed on. One of the best things about working with him was his willingness to accommodate my schedule. Since we were doing the renovations ourselves, it took time, but he never rushed us. He always said just call him when we were ready. Even after he delivered the new flooring, it was several weeks before we were ready to have it put down, and he just said call me when your are ready. We would call, and he would usually start the next day! He did a great job -- quality work. I definitely would hire him again for any flooring work. We had 3 bids for the work, and his was the most reasonable by far.

We received several estimates for our floors and found Vasile's quote to be one of the least expensive. Vasile was very responsive to questions we had while we were deciding who to choose. We also loved that he estimated getting it done much faster than the others (4 days vs 9-10 days)-- and he kept to his word! He came in right on time on a Friday morning with several stain samples to look at before getting started. While we were deciding, his guys went right in and started sanding and doing repairs, not missing a beat. They worked throughout the weekend and were out of there by Tuesday. They were very clean and while you can't completely avoid dust from sanding, it only took a few cleanings. Most importantly of all, our floors look incredible. We look forward to working with CV flooring in the spring.

We chose C V based on recommendations from our NextDoor community and were glad we did. After looking at some quotes from other providers, we felt Vasile came up with the best price and value adding additions to the job that just made sense. His team was there on time as promised and completed the job on time. They were careful with the job site and cleaned up well afterwards. We are in the midst of deciding what to do with an entranceway and stairs but you can bet if we go with wood, we will be calling C V for the job...

Vasile and his team did a tremendous job! The master bedroom previously had carpeting on it to cover over two different types of wood and concrete. Vasile refinished the original wood that was still good, installed salvaged wood so that it would match what was originally there, and added base boards where necessary. I was completely satisfied and happy with the job that C V Hardwood Flooring did and heartily recommend them!

To be brief, they did the job exactly as requested, within the agreed upon time frame, on budget and with an eye to every detail. I could not have been more happy.

Vasile's hardwood floor work in our 1950s home was fabulous! After closely inspecting the floors he offered a very reasonable proposal to replace damaged planks, strip, sand, buff, stain and varnish the floors throughout the entire house. Once the floor was striped, Vasile applied several color samples on the floor for me to choose from. It was so much easier and more precise to decide on a stain color from the actual floor samples rather than choosing one from a wood chip board. Vasile also brought samples of different styles of baseboard trims and base shoes for me to look at and choose, and supplied me with relevant literature pertaining to hardwood floors. He kept me informed of the progress every step of the way, by calling, sending me texts and pictures of the work being done, meeting me at the house to show me the work in progress, and to discuss a few things that needed extra attention. The work was finished within the proposed time frame and the final product was a beautiful golden oak hardwood floor. Vasile was very easy to work with and his craftsmanship was first rate. I would highly recommend him and would definitely use him again in the future.

Our hardwood floors were in pretty rough shape and hadn't been refinished in years. They were pretty worn down with scratches and traffic marks. We also wanted to replace the ceramic tile in our kitchen. We had gotten 3 estimates for the job. CV flooring was a bit less expensive then the others but Vasilie was the most responsive. He was very thorough and answered all of our questions. He and his crew showed up on time. They were friendly and professional. The floors are beautiful and look like new. We are very happy with the end result and would hire CV flooring again.

Charles and his crew were extremely professional and did a superb job refinishing our floors. We were extremely happy with the end results. We were provided several options for floor finishing and a detailed explanation of what work needed to be done prior to accepting their quote.

Our experience with Vasile and his staff was excellent and the cost was well worth it. He was quick and punctual with the initial visit and estimate, and he kept his promises on the timing of the actual job. He presented us with various options, explained the pros and cons of each, and pointed out some potential issues that we hadn't considered. The work that they did was outstanding. Furthermore, they did not drag it out -- they finished in two-and-a-half days, partly by working one night until 11:30pm. Some electrical problems arose during the job, and he got his own electrician to come out and take care of it, and did not try to pass along that added cost to us. Overall we recommend him enthusiastically.

Went well,Took a little bit longer than expected . But we were given an exclamation,Which was exceptable with my husband and I. WHEN the owner Vasile came for the initial estimate, he came well prepared with sample flooring colors. This helped us to make a better decision, Also he gave us several proposal options.For instance>, I didn't think I needed my Base boards done. But was given an option to remove old base boards , apply new ones. ,I choose the colonial style. So my base boards match my flooring... The samples were left with me which really helped . I started with a much lighter color, like neutral, But when I saw this warmer color Gunstock I choose this and we love theFloor. It was worth the wait..
