Everyone at Brighton who was involved in this project was a perfectionist. The installation team was knowledgable, professional, courteous, and extremely responsive. Everything went very smoothly and exactly on schedule. We couldn't be happier with the Marvin wood windows they recommended or their work installing them. This project involved nearly every room in our house, but they somehow managed to not be at all disruptive over the course of the three days it took. We truly feel that the value added to our home is greater than the cost of the service.

We were very happy with the service provided by the Brighton Home Products Company. It was a year of frustration before we joined Angie's List and finally found this Company. They were professional, patient (changed door color and style twice) and completed the job as quoted. I would recommend this Company without hesitation for the thorough job they did in the installation of our door...it looks beautiful.

I own a two flat. I initially thought the price was high for the work to be done on second floor, until I saw the quality of the work done. Since I could not afford to have the entire bathroom retiled, and the OLD tile could not be matched, John brought me samples of larger tiles that matched so well. New tub and fixtures. everyone who sees apartment says OMG, especially that bathroom. Since the outside of the building is nondescript, what is now behind the front door to apartment is a WOW. Tim was always accessible via cell phone or office. Previously, I had a different contractor recommended by friends to do work on first floor, mostly painting, did take down a wall to enlarge 2 very small bedrooms into one larger one, added a closet. The cost was less than what Brighton would have quoted, but the quality of the work was poor. Apartment had not been painted in years, heavy smoker. Contractor refused to put 2 coats of quality paint I had purchased. It's been only 6 months, and I should have the rooms repainted already. I know that Tim at Brighton would have suggested this himself. The pantry door had a cut out for my cats and litter box, no way was this guy a carpenter as claimed. Brighton will get all my future work requests before I consider another contractor. And if I do have to, I want to see work done elsewhere
Description of Work: Gutted bedroom walls of paneling, placed insulation before drywall; new folding door for closet and bedroom; added in wall heater for bedroom; replaced window and rebuilt framing and window sill Removal of tub and damaged tile, and mold in bathroom; new tile floor Put in new fans in 2 bedrooms everyone else said could not be done! Wood flooring throughout; fixed broken louvered door in hallway closet

My experience was excellent all around, from first meeting with salesman Tim, to all office contact, and then the final job. It took a little while to schedule the job, but mostly due to my own unavailability. I was always able to get ahold of either the salesperson or the scheduler - if they weren't in the office, the receptionist gave me their cellphone numbers. When it came time for the job to be done, I was impressed with how engaged the installer was with explaining everything and answering my questions in a way that connected. The job itself was executed excellently, efficiently, and in a very timely manner.

I called the business for an estimate on a few things. I received a return call a few days later and scheduled an appointment/estimate with Steve. He was on time and very pleasant to talk to. He told me his cement guy would have to come out and look at the site before giving me an estimate. He said he would e-mail an estimate. It has been 4 weeks and I have not heard from anyone at Brighton Home Products nor received an e-mail, very disappointing. I am going to use another company.

Dear Ms. [Member Name Removed] A significant portion of the estimate was for cement stairs and a rear cement patio. Due to the time of year and our prior commitments, we wouldn't have been able to complete the cement job this year. After realizing the timing issue I should have spoken with you right away, and I apologize that I didn't. I wish you the best for your project, and hope you have a great Holiday Season. I have used Brighton Home Products twice now in the past year, both with unbelievably good service and professional, excellent quality of the work performed. Steve, the owner, was recommended to me by family that live in the Chicago metro area. I live in north central WI, and knew no one in the area to help us get my deceased mother-in-law's home updated (it needed an expansive new front door) to be ready for the spring real estate market. I called Steve, explained the time line and that I would only be in town for the weekend. Steve immediately understood the circumstances, and sent Tim, the door salesman (and a great guy, as well) down to meet my husband and I on a SUNDAY morning. That is service! The door was ordered and Brighton's excellent crew, Jason and Carlos, put it in a short time later. Two months later, we found ourselves purchasing and renovating a three story town home in the suburbs. Again, I called Steve and he was attentive; he even accompanied us to several properties to help us decide how to sort through renovations. I don't know many contractors who would take the time to help prior to a purchase, but Steve was able and willing. Again, we were crunched by a circumstantial timeline and Steve made it work. A total renovation of a kitchen, three baths, flooring, electrical, painting and roof repairs occurred with relative ease. Brighton worked with my handpicked sub contractor for flooring well, and he managed his crew and his recommended subcontractors professionally. My timeline was adhered to and I couldn't be happier with the results. It is worth mentioning that Steve handled a few curve balls I threw at him without blinking an eye, and all major additions, like door replacements and fireplace surrounds and tiling were done exactly as I hoped and within the initial timeline. Steve is as honest as the day is long, on the job site every day and a great manager of crew and subcontractors. Anyone thinking of using Brighton will not be disappointed with the experience or the results.

One, Two, Three and Done! Slowly updating the exterior of my home. Wanted to replace the awnings and gutters for a couple of years. Sent my request though Angie's List and received a response within the hour. The customer service was professional, fast and efficient. Rep came to my home with sample books and gave me suggestions on size and color that would look best for my home. Inspected the gutters and told me he didn't think they needed to be replaced but that they can clean them for me. I thought that was great since he could've just went ahead with the replacement. Job was completed ahead of schedule! Very happy customer indeed!

The installation that was done was great and neat, the tow Pella doors I purchased where not what I thought I expected a heavier door, seemed a little flimsy, I have went looking for exterior door and Menards and Home depot and even Lowes and there door were solid and heavier, for the price I paid. also on door had some open seems and I was afraid of water leaking sp Brighton came out and look at the door and said would replace the door if I wanted too. but I did not want to disturb all the work that was done on the frame, so Brighton stated that my door would have a life time guarantee as long as I owned the home. So I was happy with that.

Description of Work: They worked on the closet, the bedroom and the upstairs bathroom. In the bedroom they drywall the entire ceiling and primed and painted the entire room. After reading all the positive reviews here and on Yelp, I scheduled an quote for fencing for my house and 7 other houses in my new development housing community. Steve showed up 10 minutes late which was no big deal. He rang my door and I introduced myself and we shook hands. I was wrapping up a scheduled meeting with someone else in my home but I briefly showed Steve the description of fence project. Steve said ok and then said he would re-park his car and come back in 5 minutes since he parked further away. After 30 minutes, I called the cell phone number that Steve gave me when we set up the appointment TWICE- there was no answer. After another 30 minutes I called the office at Brighton Home Products and Brian picked up. When I asked where Steve is and whether he's coming back, he said he would contact Steve and have him call me. There was no call back and after another 45 minutes, I called the Brighton Home products office AGAIN- and asked Brian AGAIN whether Steve was coming back, Brian said "I don't know what to tell you but I called Steve and told him and Steve just said ok and didn't say anything else." Steve NEVER CAME BACK. There was no call back or explanation! I waited at home for another 3 hours before I gave up and went out to run my errands. I've dealt with my fair share of contractors but I've NEVER dealt with that much UNPROFESSIONALISM and just plain rudeness! Clearly, Brighton Home Products do not value business. Why even SHOW UP if you had no interest in the job???! Now, they've lost a $XX,XXX project and a customer for life. Their lack of customer service at the estimate stage is a screaming red flag for anyone looking to hire them for a job. Consider yourself lucky if they gave you an estimate AND followed through with it! With this so called "family-owned business" PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!! Who knows if the previous good reviews were real. Take with a grain of salt!

Good Morning, After I arrived for our appointment, I waited while you wrapped up an estimate with another contractor. While I was waiting I got a phone call and had a family emergency. I was not able to call you back until the following week, and I apologize for the delay. I mentioned that I would be able to stop by again but you said the project had been put on hold. When you called our office after not being able to reach me that day, you mention speaking to a Brian. We don’t have an employee at the company named Brian, but I’m sorry the person you spoke with wasn’t more helpful. Again, I apologize for the delay in my getting back to you, and I wish you the best for your project. Very sincerely, Steve

Prompt, informative as to what he was going to do and approx how long it would take. Perfect on all accounts. It was especially nice that the same installer was used for my previous solid core door and two security storm doors. The salesman Steve Draths did a great job of making sure my requests for same locks and replacement of handle on a previous install were done in a timely manner. He gave me a time frame for delivery/install and he was spot on.

In October 2014 Brighton Home Products remodeled our bathroom: gutted the walls, installed drywall, floor and wall tile, put in a new sink, toilet, medicine cabinet and bathroom light. They also built new doors for the wooden cabinet next to the tub. The work was done quickly, efficiently, on budget. When the job was almost complete there remained two problems: 1) the wood cabinet door had been mis-measured, was too wide and opened only half way, 2) the light fixture was installed too high and needed to be lowered. I have contacted Tim Grzenia three or four times since last October to have someone come out and complete the work. Finally I was given the name of the electrician who came on May 11, 2015 and was able to lower the light fixture quickly without a problem. However, that left a spot on the wall where the light had been that now needs to be covered, sanded and painted. There was nothing done about the cabinet door. It still does not open fully, catches on the nearby radiator and is difficult to use as is. When the project started last October the people from Brighton Home Products worked well and quickly. But the two remaining problems are still open and it is unclear to me when they will be done. It has been very frustrating because each is a small job and the work could have been easily finished back in October. Now we are in June of the next year. I will have to look for someone else willing to complete the job. In July, Tim Grzenia (Brighton Home Products) sent a worker out to complete the job. It was done. It certainly did not need to take 8 plus months to be completed. My reservation concerning hiring again has to do with the length of time needed to get the job done.

Steve of BHP was very professional and attentive to our needs. He carefully explained how the job would be done, explained the various window options (materials, color, price, etc.), and also shared his company's code of ethics, which we appreciated and which they observed very well. The work was scheduled in a way that was convenient to both parties. The workers that they sent were professional and thorough. They worked quickly and efficiently. One of them had a family emergency that required that the job be stopped on the first day before things really got going; but Steve was great at following up and rescheduling the work.

They doors were all leaking. It took them about 4 days to complete the job. They stained the doors to match our floors. We also used them to repair our roof and some siding. My overall rating is very good, but expensive. It's not cheap. But they do what they say and do it right. Scheduling is easy. Service wise: they return your calls. I tell people to give them a chance to bid on a job. The owner is straight-forward and no non-sense. He didn't over promise or misrepresent himself in anyway. I called around to a couple of other places that were comparable or $3000 - $4000 less.

Steve called us when the door arrived, and the installer was out the next day. He removed the ruined door, removed the shattered frame, and rebuilt a new frame. This included sheathing the new frame in steel, exactly measuring the opening, and aligning the door to close securely. He also took the time to put together our newly purchased keyless door lock, and made sure that the door and lock fit perfectly together. The weatherstripping is magnetic, which seals tightly to the door when it closes, preventing any cold air from leaking out in winter, and keeping the cold air in in summer. Thanks to the efforts of these two men, my Mom has a beautiful new front door that operates perfectly, closes securely, and will give her years of peace of mind.
Description of Work: When my Mother fell and broker her hip, she used her Life Alert pendant to summon help. The paramedics broke down the front door to get to her, shattering the frame and ruining the door itself. We had used Brighton Home Products years ago for a chain link fence, and called them again when we saw their ad on Angies List. Steve arrived with catalogs and helped us pick out a replacement door within our budget. Since her door was an odd size he placed the order and put a rush on it.

Everything with them was great. Their response time as far as calling me back was great. The salesman who came to visit was attentive and courteous. I was entertaining several offers and he came when I had another salesman here. He didn't barge in but waited patiently until I was done with the other salesman. I really appreciated that. The response time as far as getting back to me after I chose them to do the work and everything else was just good. They exceeded their time, as far as completion of the work. They said they'd be done in four to six weeks and they were done in two and a half or three weeks. The price was fair. Everything was just great.

I contacted Brighton Home Products and spoke with Tim Grzenia about having a couple of doors installed - a single door off a balcony and a steel security door. Mr. Grzenia came to my house on August 14th. He looked at where I wanted the doors, did some measurements. He had booklets with styles of door. I looked through them to pick out the style of doors that I desired. After picking the styles that I liked, he provided the pricing. I ordered a black steel security door and a fiberglass entry door with glass in the center and blinds within the glass and he wrote up a contract. Because I live in a townhome and the outside color of the entry door has to be uniform, we took some color swatches and matched them against the existing paint. After the doors were taken care of I asked about another problem. The track on one of my sliding glass doors warped from the sun. This prevented the door from sliding all the way open making entering and exiting difficult. I asked if he knew if there was anyway to fix it. He took a look. Tried to see who manufactured the door. He asked me if I had the paperwork from when the door was installed. I told him I probably did but I would have to search for it. I did find it and sent him the information via email. Mr. Grzenia provided me with a folder that contained the booklets with the different door styles, consumer rights, Contractors Standards Guide, the Lead Safe Certified Guide, a list of the other services the company provided and a copy of the contract I signed. A couple of days after our meeting, I received a thank you letter for choosing Brighton as the contractor for my project and what I can expect with regards to my project in the coming weeks. On September 20th Mr. Grzenia called to schedule the installation, but the city had put up no parking signs, so we scheduled it for the day after the no parking period ended. However, the city extended the no parking period, so the installation was rescheduled for October 13th, the Columbus day holiday. Two workers arrived as scheduled on the date of the install. I showed them the location of where the doors were to go and they went to work. Each one working on a door. They did assist one another as needed. They were neat while working. They cleaned up behind themselves when they finished. Carlos was one of the workers. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the other young man. After Carlos finished installing the steel security door, to my surprise he had a piece to replace the warped track for my sliding glass door. He explained later that Mr. Grzenia told him he was not sure that it would work. But it fit perfectly. After the entry door was installed, Carlos explained how blinds within the glass worked. He explained the warranty on the door and how to properly clean the door. Both doors were fitted with an entry lock and a double cylinder deadbolt. The locks for each door were keyed the same. For which I was very pleased. With the explanations completed, I made the final payment. My copy of the contract was annotated to reflect that I paid in full and they were done, just as it started to rain. A couple of days after the job was completed I received another thank you letter and a customer satisfaction survey which I completed. In summary, Mr. Grzenia was patient and informative as well as cordial. The workers that did the install could not have been nicer. I am extremely happy with my new doors and the fact that I can now get in and out my patio doors without having to squeeze through the opening.
Description of Work: The provider was excellent. I ordered 2 doors which look great. The doors were received and installed in a timely fashion. They did a couple of things which I did not expect, but am extremely happy about. I could not be more pleased with the workmanship and how I was dealt with as a customer.
