I totally agree with the other member who rated this company on 7/12. The company was outstanding. I had a roof leak in the closet of my master bedroom. I called the company after reading the reviews from Angie's List. I scheduled an appointment and Tom came out to check out the problem. He was punctual and professional. He found a loosen ventilation cover and took pictures to show me what the problem was. Tom was able to secure it right away and he did it free of charge. He also noticed some rotted wood on my chimney and advised me to have them repair. I was extremely impressed with Tom and I will definitely use them in the future and refer my friends to them.

I really don't want to grade this company on any work that was performed, because no work was actually done. However, I would like to share my experience. I had called Tom at Affordable Roofing on 6/4/12 to see if he could come out and give me an estimate on replacing my roof and skylights. He seemed very nice on the phone. He explained what kind of shingles & skylights they install. The skylights that I currently have seem to have a lot of heat coming through when the sun is directly over my house. So I asked how energy efficient the new skylights would be and if they would reduce the amount of heat that comes through. He recommended that before they install the skylights that I go to an auto store and buy some tint, and they will put the tint on the skylights before they install them. I'm not sure if this is normal, but I'm not interested in putting tint on my skylights. I like the sunlight coming through, I just don't like the excessive heat that radiates through them. But he said this is the only way they will be energy efficient. Anyway, I did ask him to come out and give me an estimate, based on all the good Angie's List reviews. He was not willing to come out to my house when I got off of work, but said he would be out sometime by the end of the week. Well, 20 days later, I still have not received an estimate or heard back from this company at all. In the meantime, I have received estimates from more responsive Roofing Companies and have decided to go with someone else.

A few years ago I called them to repair a leak and the work was done timely and the price was very reasonable. I called them this month to see if it needed replaced. This company has been honest, responsive and professional.

Estimate was given and repair was done as soon as weather permitted. Work was done in one day and we have had no leaking since the repair was completed. We would definitely use their services again.

Not a lot to say. They arrived early morning as they said they would, finished the work in one day. They were not the lowest bidder on the project, but the work made it worth it. My only complaint is it took them a while to send the final bill.

Based on AL's reviews I called this company to come and give me a quote on roof repair. Everything went well initially - prompt appointment, on time arrival of Tom P, inspection of roof, listening to my concerns, and a good initial feedback from Tom w/ the promise to email an estimate in 3-4 days. I called on day 4 and was told that I should leave a message in Tom's voice mail. Which I did. Not hearing back, I called back on day 5 asking about estimate. Shortly, I got a email from one of their office managers with a quote. A professional quote would have listed the work that would be done, how much time it would take, how much it would cost etc. This one contained only how they charge (Time and material) and no details of what would be done and time estimate. When I asked for details, I got a curt message from this office manager stating that she was basing her answers on what I had told her and don't know how long it would take. No mention of a report from Tom who actually inspected the roof. What is the point of sending someone to inspect roof, take pictures, spend time, if the quote is going to be based on what he customer says and not what your own inspector told you? My request for more information/clarification was met with curt messages. The final straw - a rude email from this office manager telling me that since I don't have faith in their ability to do fix my roof, I can go someplace else. Happy to oblige!

Overall, Affordable Roofing did a great job. The original quote and job evaluation was dead on. Dave, the salesman walked the roof and found all the trouble spots and told us exactly what to expect. The work crew was very experienced and professional. They worked into the evening to complete the job and clean-up. The crew leader came back the next day for a few hours to finish sealing the flashing as he ran out of caulk the day before. The new roof and flashing is a vast improvement over the original roof that was on the house.

They were on time. They were very accommodating towards our hectic schedule.

Great company! Wonderful service from Cheryl who always answers the phones in a cheerful manner, to Tom who came right on time to do the estimate, then came back again when we decided to do the whole roof, to the crew who worked on my roof. They tore off the old roof in a couple of hours (just how many guys were up there!?!?!), to the crew of four who put on the roof - it only took one day to do the entire job. We've gotten tons of compliments on how good the roof looks, and have been recommending you to the whole neighborhood. Thanks!

We got them off Angie’s list. He fixed the problem that we had and did not charge us anything. He sealed the area that was damaged by the people who put the siding on. He also took a look at the roof as I was worried the roof was too old. He looked at it and said that it would last for another seven to ten years. He was very good and honest. You don’t find such people very often. I rate them higher than an A overall. The roof has been fine since then.

The estimate was free. They were on time and were here when they said they would be. They were also friendly on the phone when they answered.

We had a leak where the water was getting in under the flashing on the garage roof and leaking into the den and the side of the garage wall. tom came out and gave us a way to fix this that would solve the problem. Other roofers only wanted to do either a quick fix and just work on the flashing and the siding, or tear off the entire roof and start over. Tom's solution seemed to be the middle way to go -fix the problem but not spend a huge amount of money. The crew came out and finished the job on time. They were quick, clean and efficient and they knew what they were doing. They included a copper flashing in the front of the house that looks really nice. Tom did before and after pictures that really showed what they had done and we have had no leaks since. I would use this company again.

They are going to do the work in a couple of weeks. It was $2800 for the damaged part of the roof and the entire roof was $7800. We are going to go with the whole roof. They were very professional, prompt and reliable. They came exactly when they said they would. The girl that answers their phone is very friendly and on top of everything. I called her yesterday to tell her that we are going on a vacation later on this week and so we would pay the check when we get back. Then she said that they would find out about the permit and called the next day exactly when she said she would. I have got nothing but good things to say about them.

Tom came out to see what our problem was with the roof leak. I was not home when he came but when I returned home my husband told he had fixed the problem and didn't charge us anything I was truly shocked and very pleased! I'd read his other reviews with other customers having the same experience but I didn't think it would happen to us! I will have no problem calling this company again for any future problems nor will I have any problem referring them to any friends or neighbors.What a great neighborly gesture!!!

They were awesome. They are a terrific roofing company. They are a local business, and they don't use subs for tearoff, they use their own crew. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They cleaned up thoroughly after they were done. A supervisor came after they were done with the work and made sure there was no debris, as well. The crew was professional and timely. They even put plywood on my driveway for the dumpster to prevent driveway damage. They honored their estimate, and the supervisor even used a video camera to show me what work had been done. They also provide a five-year labor warranty.

They are GREAT and very honest. He knew what the problem was when I first showed him the leak in my ceiling and told me who to contact.

It took about a week to get a response after we called for an estimate, so it seemed that returning phone calls wasn't a very high priority. The work was completed over two days. The cleanup was good. Shortly after the roof was replaced this area experienced the worst wind storm I've seen here, and the roof appeared to have not suffered any damage. This is good. The problem I have with the work they did is the damage done to the landscaping. We were told before the work began that some branches would have to be trimmed from a mature flowering crab in front of the house. We agreed to let them 'trim some branches', but what they actually did was cut off every branch on one side of the tree right down to the trunk. This tree is the most significant landscaping feature in the front of the house, and now 1/3 of it is gone. The shape of the tree is completely ruined. Mutilated. So if you'd like to see the quality of the roofing work, come take a look. The house is easy to find. It's the one with 2/3 of a tree right in front. I was and still am livid. Whatever you do, don't let them touch your landscaping.

Our experience was fantastic. We will definitely recommend this contractor to our friends and family. The roofer came by and looked at the area of concern. He got up on the roof and discussed the situation with my husband in detail. The good news was there wasn't any sort of problem at all, just a different color flashing used when built and we just now noticed it. It's a small area, and unless you are looking for it, you can't even notice it. My husband just happen to notice it after a storm, so he grew concerned. While the roofer was here, he pounded a few nails that had popped and told my husband the roof is definitely in great shape and we'll get the 25 years out of it as the manufacturer advertises. We were thrilled. My husband offered to pay him for his time, and he wouldn't take it because he said he really didn't do anything other than go up and look at if for us and pound a couple of nails. To us, this is just good customer service. This is what I expect from contractors, although I know their time is worth something, just like our peace of mind which is why we were offering to pay him. Thank you so much.

The job went very well. From the beginning, Tom provided the estimate, was very responsive to emails, informed me of the install date, and arrived on the install date. The job was completed in one day with all trash hauled away that same day. During the estimate process, I had requested a new gutter. They arranged for a gutter company to install a new gutter as part of the job, so I only needed to deal with Affordable. Very good job!

All parts of the tear off went well. From the dumpster to putting shingles on roof to new gutters being replaced all was done with the without a single problem.

Overall, my experience was excellent. Phone calls were taken courteously, my estimate was given thoroughly with photographs taken of my roof and the repair was excellent.

He was really honest and told me he couldn't meet the quality and do it in my timeframe for that price.

They did a good job. They fixed the problem I had. It reoccurred again. They came back immediately the next day and fixed it. I had no problems.

The work went fine. We chose them out of 6 companies that we had short-listed. They did a fine job. I would use them in the future, if necessary.
