They performed the "tune up" and replaced the broken part as promised with no surprises. The salesman estimated the repairs would be completed in about 3 or 4 days but it was completed by the next day.
Description of Work: I took my Oreck vacuum in for a "Tune up" because it wasn't working very well and did not want to spend money on a new vacuum. At that time the salesman also found another part was broken.

I had two cats (one is a long hair breed), and two boys. You can imagine the mess! We had gone through a variety of vacuums over the years ranging from $200-$350, but none of them lasting for more than a year. It was very aggravating having a vacuum break right before company was coming over and throwing away vacuum after vacuum because the motor burned out and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new one. I originally had the idea to look at an Oreck, because the day care my boys went to had an Oreck vacuum, and I figured if that vacuum could handle the stress of vacuuming 6 rooms a day, every day, then it should be able to handle my house. So I went to the Oreck store, which was conveniently less than a mile from my house. The store is small and nothing impressive. There is typically one person manning the floor, so if he/she is busy with another customer, you'll have to wait. That was ok because I it gave me time to browse. One vacuum they advertised looked pretty simple, but it had a sign on it that advertised a 25-year warranty. What?! Really?! I was ready for the challenge. The only downside was that this particular vacuum was over $1000. However, I calculated that if I went through one $200 vacuum a year, I would break even at the 5 year mark, and start getting my money's worth after that...PLUS if it didn't break that's a lot of aggravation saved on my end. So, we purchased the vacuum, and the salesperson explained to us that for the warranty to remain valid, we'd have to take in the vacuum once a year for tune-ups and maintenance (like a car). They would send us a postcard to remind us. This story has a happy ending...five years later the vacuum is going strong and has not broken once. I take in my vacuum faithfully for it's checkup and come back a couple days later to pick it up. Bags are not the cheapest, but I don't have to go through many of them either. This purchase is well worth the money. I'm still using my free iron and portable vacuum as well.
Description of Work: We bought a very expensive vacuum there that has a 25 year warranty. As part of honoring the warranty we are required to take the vacuum into the service center every year for a "checkup". We also buy our vacuum bags there. As part of our purchase we got a free iron, and a free portable vacuum.
