The service technician convinced me to purchase a maintenance agreement for one year at $150. He said customer service would call to schedule a time to service Air conditioner. End of April I began calling and after four weeks of trying to get appointment I asked for refund. I was told 7-10 days I would get refund. Every Monday for five weeks I have called and I was told check is coming. This Monday, 6/27/16 the office manager Amanda refused to talk to me. I definitely was scammed by this company.
Description of Work: On 3/14/16 North Metro Air, Dallas, GA was sent by our homeowner warranty to fix our heater.

Our Home Warranty company assigned us to North Metro Air when our furnace stopped DEAD New Year's Eve morning. When no on called after 4 hours, we called them. Jackie answered and told us no one was available until Fri Jan 2 and she would call us that morning with appointment details. Friday came - no one called. We called at 12 noon to find out when our appointment was, spoke with Eric - THERE WAS NO RECORD of our call. Now, we couldn't be put on the schedule until Monday, 6 days after our furnace went out, in sub-freezing temperatures. Finally, Monday Jan 5, a young and inexperienced technician showed up, couldn't find anything wrong, and removed soot from the flame detector, stating "this should not have caused the problem", but since it started up, they assumed the problem was fixed. 2 weeks later, during the next round of sub-freezing temperatures, the furnace stopped working AGAIN. We were sent back to North Metro Air again. We called and spoke to Jackie, who said there were no appointments for another day, Wednesday Jan 28. Since their work is covered for 180 days, they came back. THIS TIME, the same technician found a loose wire on the igniter, so they told us it needed to be replaced, TOOK THE PART, and left us with an inoperable furnace in the freezing temperatures again. No one contacted us until Friday Jan 30, and when we contested the charges, we were told it was A DIFFERENT problem so we had to pay again. SINCE NO ONE CONTACTED US FOR 2 DAYS, the part WAS NOT ordered until we paid the charges. We were told 3-5 business days for the part, and someone would call us by Wednesday, Feb 4. When no one called the morning of Feb 4, we called them for an update and were told the part was not expected until Feb 9! We were apoplectic! They even stated they had put a RUSH on the order. That was RICH! We received a call on Friday, Feb 6 saying a supervisor had left to pick up the part and was coming to install it. Eric showed up, installed the part in less than 15 minutes, and left without saying a word.

They came out and would not replace our furnace even though it was putting cyanide and carbon monoxide poison into our air. I am in the process of trying to get my money back. They were nice and pleasant, but did not know what they were doing.

This company was provided by 2-10 Home Warranty. He showed up, didn't ask any questions. Left and I found out that he told the warranty company that there was no way my heater could have been working prior to my call. I had air working normally for months until Dec 26th when I arrived home from my vacation to find my home smelled like Gas. the Heat exchanger is what went on it. 2-10, after already approving this repair, then said they wouldn't based on Eric's (or is it Tony) recommendation. This man is incompetent. He absolutely gave a false report as I DID have heat and have family and friends that had been at my home many times during the cold months and saw that my heat was on and working fine. I have appealed this decision, but I should not have to be going through this, had this guy known what he was doing and gave the correct information to the warranty company. When I called him to ask him why he gave that report, and I want to add, I was exceptionally nice and calm with him and simply asked why he would say something like there was no way my heat could have worked when it worked just fine, he said I couldn't get mad at him for telling them what he saw and hung up on me. I then called the 'office' phone number on 'Eric's' card and a guy answered that sounded just like Eric and I asked to whom I was speaking. He said, 'Tony' and then I asked if he was affiliated with Eric. The phone line went dead as he hung up on me. Very professional!

The North Metro technician only looked at the unit from the floor, although I had placed a ladder there so he could open the unit and look at it. He never looked inside the unit, but instead went out to his truck for 5 or 10 minutes to call the office. The technician returned and said the unit was improperly installed and needed a condensate pump. North Metro had the warranty company call me. They said they would not cover the repairs because service provider said unit was not properly installed. Technician said they could install a condensate pump for $350. After several days and phone calls, North Metro said they would not do the job because they did not want to accept liability for any future leakage. I contacted Shumate HVAC and had them come out. Their technician inspected the unit and said it was properly installed and did not need a condensate pump and affirmed this diagnosis on their invoice.
Description of Work: Home Owner's Warranty service on a Mitsubishi heat pump in our sunroom that was dripping water.
