Description of Work: Chris was asked to provide an opinion on whether one of our palm trees was worth saving. In his view, it had died due to a fungus and needed to be removed. He said that he would do so giving a reasonable estimate and stated that his wife would call to schedule removal the next time he was in my area. I was very satisfied with his service to that point However, considerable time went by without hearing from him; hence I called today to be told by his wife that a family emergency prevented them from taking on any new customers. Although I sympathize with their emergency, if I had not called, it appears unlikely that I would have been informed that further service would not be provided.

Description of Work: They removed dead limbs and trimmed the tree back which allowed it to grow naturally. They seemed quite knowledgeable about the exact process for trimming but not butchering the tree. From other estimates, the price was reasonable too.They did a quick and efficient job and cleaned up afterwards.

Description of Work: Cut down tree and treated stump of a 60 foot sweet gum, cut down tre and treated stump of small oak, and cut down a sable palm. Arrived on time. Took 7 hours from start to finish. Completely removed all debris. Gave instructions on how to take care of leftover roots in the ground. Very experienced crew. Climber and ground guy were excellent. Chris-owner was very knowledgeable and personable. Dani was great with immediate online receipt sent to my email straight from her on-site laptop. Would highly recommend and will use again in the future. Great value!!!

Description of Work: AK tree came and trim the three branches that was touching my roof. They were very professional and courteous. They did a good job and clean up very well. We feel good knowing that the tree was trim the right way so we would not be in any trouble with our subdivision in the future. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Description of Work: Chris came and evaluated the damaged trees. Told me how to file for a permit. After I had the permit, I called to schedule the appointment. I told him cost was important and I would like to keep the oak wood for firewood. He offers a discount in the off season (December and January) as well as the Angie's list discount. The price was by far the best estimate for two large trees. He cut them both down and left us small enough pieces for firewood. We stacked the wood ourselves. During the two times he was at our property he gave me lots of information about the trees on our new property. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much helpful information with me. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around our property and learning how to take care of our different trees. I plan to have him back to trim another tree when the season changes again.

 + 0 moreAK Tree Service was the second estimate I received for a tree trimming job. This estimate was approx 40% less than the previous estimate we received from another tree service listed on Angies List. I left Chris a voice message and he almost immediately returned my call. He came to our house and gave us an estimate for the work that we needed performed. One oak branch was hanging very low over the pool enclosure and was angling down towards it. This was not an easy job. Not a problem for Chris, he tied it off and trimmed the branch expertly with no damage to the enclosure and even cleaned the top of the enclosure with the blower afterwards. Overall I am very pleased with Chris' professionalism, prices and quality of work. We will definitely use him in the future.
Description of Work: Trimmed oak tree branches that were hanging too low over the pool enclosure; trimmed brances hanging over the street and trimmed the fronds of a tall palm tree on the side of our house.

 + -1 moreI called AK Tree Service to have two large maples trimmed as dead branches were dropping out of the tree like crazy. Chris came out and told me my trees were in very bad shape showing me all the rotten parts of the tree including the main trunk of both trees. We decided it was time to get rid of them and start over with new trees. Chris got them out that day and let me know that he could get me new trees in the ground once I decided what I wanted. Unfortunately he doesn't have a stump grinder so I'll be checking that out on Angie's List. But he did a great job and I would highly recommend AK Tree Service.

He diagnosed the problem and had his equipment with him and the price was right so he was able to take the tree down right away. He treated the soil and left the area neat. He was very knowlegable about trees. I wanted to plant 2 palms in another area of the yard. Chris went to the nursery and brought me 2 robellini's and installed them. Asked for my opinion as to placement and trimmed them up nicely.

 + -1 moreI called Chris late afternoon. He said he could come by, on his way to another job, at 8 am. He called to say he was running late, but was there by 8:15 am. He quoted a price, and since his partner and truck were there, proceeded do do all the work. (He did call the next customer, a repeat, to ask if they could come a little later and she agreed) They worked very hard, checking with us all the time. They even cleared out some underbrush of palm leaves that took some time. They were also very carefull not to trample on any of our new plantings. All in all I would say it was a very good job or a very resonable price.
Description of Work: Cut dead fronds off palm trees, cut branches hanging over roof, Cut damaged limb of large bottle tree and pruned other damaged limbs.

 + -1 moreSpoke to Chris on the phone and made a date for him to come look. He said that he would give me a quote and if it was acceptable, he would do the work right then. We had to reschedule once, but Chris came on Thursday and gave me a quote of $325, which was reasonable. I had two palm trees that were about 25 - 30 ft tall, at least, that had been hit by lightening. I have a third three even taller that needed to be trimmed. It was an incredibly hot day but Chris and his assistant got it done in good time and cleaned up after themselves very well. Chris is a great guy, a real pleasure to work with. Highly recommended!!!

 + -1 moreI had talked with Chris on 8/3 and he said he would be out to me between 9 AM and 11, he was on time, but I had spoke to my nephew and he send someone else out to do the job. I didn't know this was going to happen. Chris was a gentlemen about it and he even give me a better prize, but because my nephew sent someone else and had to tell Chris that they other people had the job.
