Overall they did an excellent job. Ontime, professional and cleaned up everything. They were very carefull bringing down tree limbs and were very knowledge arborist. They did not just hack away at the trees.

I left a voicemail on a Saturday for Chris explaining I would like a quote to get trimming done. He called back quickly. He actually came out the next day, Sunday (!), and gave me the best of 4 quotes. 3 other companies I received quotes from were also from Angie's List, the other was a recommendation by another company that does landscaping. I wanted to go with a company that had a certified arborist & since he'd received so many positive reviews here & was the cheapest, it was a no-brainer. He did an excellent job of explaining what he would do to trim the 2 large oaks that hung over my pool cage & roof. I also had him quote me on some trimming on other trees in my front yard. He also provided me his insurance information, which I verified. He offered to come out on Friday a.m. & start @ 8am, which he did to fit into my schedule. He arrived late, but got to work, no problem. Later in the afternoon, a storm rolled in & he packed it up & promised to be back early the next a.m. They came back & finished the back & did an excellent job. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. I actually have sun hitting my back yard & pool now. It was very hot & Chris explained that he was getting overheated & would like to call it a day & come back Monday afternoon to do the front, so he'd be finishing as I got home from work, if I would agree, which I did. He called me Monday, apologizing, saying he'd started another job in the a.m. & it ran late so he didn't make it to me. It turned out I found out that same day I needed $2k in car repairs, so we agreed I would just pay him for the work he'd already done in the back. Like I said before, I have nothing but good things to say about his work, but his organizational skills could be better. He was also going through some turnover in his staff, and that didn't help his situation, so I hope he gets that resolved so he is better able to serve his customers. I would use him again to do my other work.

We have many large Oaks and have had many tree companies maintain them over the years. After having a very large limb fall dangerously close to the house we needed to not only have it removed but the remaining trees cleaned up and trimmed to prevent this from happening again. Chris (Owner) spent significant time up front analyzing the trees for what would be the best cuts to make, not only for our safety but for the health of the tree. He thoroughly wrote out the work and even walked me through it a second time to make sure we both agreed to what would be done. He seems very knowledgable and genuinely interested in his work. His price was very reasonable and insurance and license in order so we set a date. Work commenced on time and Chris himself was present to direct and do the work, which is reassuring. All debris was removed from the job site and payment was not expected until the job was finished and I was happy. Great experience...I will use Chris again and recommend him highly.

We were completely satisfied with AK coming on time, his explanation of what we could do to help the oak whose bark he" traced", that, despite a gazebo and complex watering systems near the tree and tree part, nothing was damaged. We were also grateful that he is willing to come back to be sure termites in the oak are truly gone for good, without charging us more.

We had a rain delay, but on the rescheduled day, he was out at the house on time. He and his team members, Bobby and Tom and one other young man were polite, professional, competent, and tidy. They had to quit around noon because of heavy rain, but were back at it at the scheduled time the next day. Watching them safely remove logs and sections of tree that sometimes weighed several thousand pounds without damaging anything was amazing. They even came to a full stop while moving the huge dead tree to make sure that a little flying squirrel was alright that had just fled from his little knothole in the tree!They finished the job by 3 pm on the second day. I can't say enough about their service. They were kind, funny, focused, and seemed to relish their work. They cleaned up not only the mess of the job, but also thick accumulations of leaves on my deck and driveway. One more thing: Cris put a major emphasis on safety. On many occasions, I heard him advise his team to take the time to do some extra maneuver or procedure that would make the work safer. That did a lot to reassure me. So, bottom line, I will be calling them back to do maintenance in five years, and I recommend them glad and without reservation to others.

They showed up on time. They were ready to work. They were diligent until finished. Chris, the crew chief and owner works right along with them, but was always available and polite if we asked a question. I was impressed with their care and safety procedures. At the end of the day,the job site (our whole yard) was picked up, swept up and left nice and clean by the crew.

work was done in a timely manner. they had some trouble with the large oak. It took them a little longer than they had thought. It was a proud tree and fought them all the way. They kept to their bid and gave me prices for the recommended work right away. They did not procrastinate at all and worked hard to finish.

Work was performed the same day as the estimate was given. Called to say he was running 7 minutes late. Job did not require more than one person as they are very young oaks. He was very knowledgeable about the trees, recommended for me to have them removed as they are too close to the house. I would use this company again. He did a fantastic job cleaning up.

I contacted AK Tree Service and Chris was going to come out that same day but the job he was on ran longer than he thought it would. He came out the next day, looked around, gave me a price and faxed me the contract the next day. He said they would be out on Tuesday between 7am and 8am. Chris arrived at 7:16am and brought along another member of his crew. My husband and I watched while he explained the job to his crew member (in detail). You could really tell that he knew what he was doing. He also stated that more people would be coming a little later on. Chris finished the job around 4pm (I hadn't gotten home yet). My husband was there and he called me to tell me what a good job they had done. When I got home, I couldn't believe it! He had actually done more than he said he would. Originally, our front yard was covered in shade but Chris cut back the trees so we could get some sun. He also cut back 4 more trees so that we would be in compliance with our home owner's insurance regarding the trees hanging over our house. AK Tree service cleaned up everything - the yard was spotless (in fact, it looked better because they raked the yard)! My husband said they did the work in a safe, efficient manner. He is extremely pleased (and he is very picky),

A large oak tree fell over during the severe weather Tampa Bay had in early April 2011. I contacted AK Tree service to come out and take a look and give me an estimate. Chris came out on time (we setup a time at 7:30 AM) and looked over the tree and made his recommendations. My wife and I opted to have the tree hauled off completely to the landfill vs chipped or cut into firewood, which was an increased cost reflected in the total amount spent (~$500 for just that big tree). Chris was very attentive and we started to talk about the canopy around my home and what could be done about it before hurricane season. He picked out a "widomaker" branch in the canopy that was dangerous and could potentially fall on someone in a high wind. Our other quote for this job did not notice the "widomaker". My wife and I decided to go with Chris, and he didn't let us down. His crew was out there for 4 days (2 on the oak tree, and 2 on the rest of the house area). They cleaned up after themselves and hauled all of the cut material off to the landfill (our choice instead of chipping). He took care of the trees like they were his and made all the appropriate cuts. My wife and I have 5 acres with more oak trees across the property. We are definitely going to have Chris and AK Tree service come back to trim the trees on the rest of our property. Chris goes above and beyond.

This was my second time using AK and as before, the job went very well.

I asked for an estimate to do some tree cutting the last part of February and Chris came out promptly. We made arrangements for him to come back and do the work the beginning of April. He was always on time, did a great job and cleaned up after the job was done. It took him and his men 4 days start to finish. His crew was very professional. One of the huge oaks had branches over the house which could have been a disaster. In the future I will always call Chris for our tree service.

They arrived first thing in the morning. They did a very nice job doing a hurricane style trim on all my palms. The finished product looked better than the jobs done by previous trimmers. They cleaned up and hauled away all the cut fronds.

Mr. Akonom was very prompt in returning my call and coming out to do the estimate. He actually had me scheduled the day after a major storm in the Tampa area and although he was late arriving due to an emergency job, he kept me informed and completed the job as discussed. He also went the extra mile and cleaned the gutters directly located under the tree that were full. My lawn looked like they had never been there at the end of the job. I would highly recommend AK Tree Service!

Chris is very personable and friendly. Arrived on time. Took about 3 to 4 hours to perform the work. Neighbor's tree is very large. Chris was "respectful" of the tree and trimmed it up very well... does not look like a hack job. Yard was cleaned up afterward and he also cleaned out my front gutter while he was on the roof trimming the palm. I will use him again.

Went very well. Was originally scheduled for the Day before but They called to reschedule due to the rainy weather. arrived the next day within the time frame given (1 hour). He returned all calls and explained the process and any other questions I may have had. Did what was expected and cleaned up any debrise leaving the area like they found it (minus the tree they cut out). Great experience and would recommend them to anyone on Angies list as well a friends

He was very knowledgeable in his work. He was able to measure the trunk of the tree to be able to trim it accurately and legally and without permits needed. He took great safety measures with ropes. He was very tidy and careful with the tree, so that it will grow facing the house where the trunk is.

Chris came out the day after I called for the estimate. He was prompt, outlined all of my options and gave me a reasonable quote. He also promised to cut the branches in fire size pieces and to treat the stump for free. After speaking to Chris several times, I felt comfortable enough to have him do the work while I was gone and to leave the permit and check under our door map. I arrived home as they were finishing the work and they had done exactly as Chris had promised. There was no sign that they had done any work with the exception of the tree being gone and the wood left as promised. They cleaned up and left everything spotless. I will call Chris whenever I have this type of work that needs to be done. great job at a fair price.

Chris answered my call and came out promptly to give me an estimate. He had the crew ready so started part of the work the next day. He told me he would be back on Tuesday and he was. Completed the job and clean up just as promised. He came by later that day to collect payment and went ahead and finished the last step of a stump removal process, that I could have completed. Very professional, prompt, and prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company.

It went extremely well. Chris gave me an estimate on one day and removed the dead tree the following day. He and his crew performed the job in less than an hour. Excellent clean up; excellent job, excellent value.

He responed right away to my call and then called back to tell me that he was going to be in the neighborhood and he could bring the price down. When I called him back we scheduled a time and he came to the house and did an amazing job and there was no sign of him ever being there. He was very nice and I will definately work with him again.

I had a very large brach growing over my screened in pool area from the tree in the yard behind my house. I was worried that if a storm came though it would cause damage because it appeared that the tree was not heathy. When Chris looked at he told me that the reason I was finding so many braches on the ground was because of the type of tree that it was and that it was not dying. But if I wanted he would trim the large branch up to my property line. Well, he not only to the limb off, he cleaned the rest of the smaller branchs to make the appearance better. The whole time he was very careful not to damage anything in the yard, cut the big branch into firewood size and was very careful to only go to my property line. The branch out in front of my house was over hanging my palm tree. Because it was an Oak Chris said it needed to be trimed so that it would not damage my palm. Again, he was very careful to make sure there were no nests and only trimed what would improve the overall of the tree and the palm tree. Chris and his wife also cleaned up all the trimmings so that you would have never known that the trees had just been trimmed. The price was not only great - so was the work! I would recommend Chris to anyone and everyone.
