I had purchased a gas range on May 18th for Home Depot and it is under a warranty. I had a licened plumber set it up for me. The technician discovered there was a problem with the ignitor. I called Maytag and they were to send over A-1 to service me. I called this morning to see when they were coming out and the owner of the company Dick Moriarty all I did was ask what time he was coming. The 1st thing he did was say who gave you this number? I said Maytag did. He then said this is an unlisted number and you aren't supposed to be calling it. Then he said Maytag wasn't supposed to do that then he said "this is an all day appointment" but they were supposed to be out between 8-12 I was told. Then he told me if it is an installation problem it was not covered and he began to argue with me on the fact that I called him on this number. He began asking what was wrong with the stove. I told him the problem was a defective ignitor. I told him he hasn't even seen the stove and why arguing with me. Again aid if it was an installation problem that I was going to pay for it. I told him that it was not an installation problem and Maytag sent me there. He then said that he would not do the job and he was calling Maytag to tell them that then he slammed the phone down and hung up on me. Then I had to call Maytag to get another compny that can't come unti next week. Instead of being called A-1 Appliance Sales and Service they should be called F-10 for failure!
Description of Work: They didn't do anything refused the work

He went into the garage where the machine is located, after asking me what was wrong with it. I heard a loud BANG, when I asked what the bang was, he said 'what bang?'. Then I could hear the water going in to the machine. He said, "come down here and see", I am limited with COPD, so I can't make it into the garage. He didnt know why I couldn't come down. I asked him not to touch the machine, and to please leave. He was there for about 3 minutes, and he asked for $65 service fee. I understand, maybe, a reasonable charge for gas, but certainly not $65 for 3 minutes of service. He began to argue with me, and I asked him to leave again. I went and sat down in the tv room and asked him to leave again. But he did not leave, he stood there in the door until I paid him. I paid him and he finally left. I hope no one uses him. He is not a professional business person. His customer service is nonexisitant.
Description of Work: I called A-1 to fix my Washer. I called him on Monday and he asked if I'd be home on Tuesday. He said he'd call on Tuesday, but he didn't. He just arrived, unannounced today @ 3pm.

Very bad experience. I feel sorry for anyone who needs his service that is on a fixed income, he and his ilk are a dying breed and they know it.
Description of Work: Over the weekend my refrigerator quit running, I unplugged it, then replugged it in and it worked for a few hours on Sunday, then quit again. I unplugged it and left it. I called this company Monday morning and they came right out. I had the fridge pulled out and all covers removed, of course, when I plugged it in it worked like a champ, their tech could find nothing wrong and told me to call him when it did quit, as he would be in the area, of course it never failed again. They are now charging me a $75.00 service call fee for this 10 minute checkout. Outrageous, I will never use nor recommend them again, totally unethical business practice.

Very well. The work was done neatly and quickly. The repair person was very professional and pleasant to deal with. After 2 weeks the refrigerator is still working as good as new.
Description of Work: Refrigerator freezer was not getting cold enough. Repair person arrived promptly as scheduled, listened to the symptoms, accurately diagnosed the problem, explained the proposed repair and indicated the probability of success. Then quoted a price and, after I agreed, quickly implemented the repair. In addition, a water valve was replaced and the ice maker checked.
