It has turned out great. We have used them for a number of years. They have always responded quickly and professionally. They respond to any problems and take care of it. I will continue to be with them for years.
Description of Work: They do all my heating and air conditioning. They replaced all of my air conditioning units and furnaces. They diagnose potential problems which have lead to the replacements. They do my yearly maintenance. I have a contract where they come out twice a year, check and clean the units and check the ducts. They make sure the units are working properly.

They do very well. They even go so far as to wear booties on their shoes before they walk on to your house. When you call to arrange service, they return you r call. They answer their phones by saying ?RS Service, How can I make you smile?? which helps ease any tensions that you already have.
Description of Work: They primarily have done work on my heating and air conditioning system. They have also done the installation of a filtration system attached to my heating system. They make sure I am up to code on anything relating to heating and air conditioning. They were out yesterday to do a check up before the summer. My cleaning service also knocked my thermostat off the wall and he reinstalled that.

They did the work neatly and cleaned up but I feel I was over charged based on market prices and work performed. I also feel that the unit may have run with less work performed. Lots of pressure on the "up-sale"
Description of Work: A/C was not cooling. They showed up and did evaluation. Said the outdoor coils needed cleaning ($350), bad contactor ($242), bad capacitor ($242) and refrigerant plus labor and service fee. (11/09/10) Update: provider called and said tech should have offered free service diag fee and 2 follow up visits. Agreed to follow up with these two items.

I retired from Honeywell after 33 years of service with vast experience in Air Conditioning. Two R.S. Andrews servicemen arrived on time. They diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes as a bad starting capacitor (the symptom was that the condensor fan would not run). While on site they suggested that I have my coils cleaned. After cleaning the coils, they said I was low on freon. I asked that they go ahead and and recharge the system. They then stated that my evaporative coil was leaking and they would not guarantee any repairs unless I had the coil replaced and they also suggested that I replace the condensor coil and compressor ($$$). A standard 1 hour/$100 service call suddenly escalated to $664 for their visit and I had still had no air conditioning (we were having 98 degrees/95%humidity conditions). I asked them to have their manager call me. I never received any call back. After they left, I turned on the AC. Everything was "running" but not cooling. I was charged $664 to replace a $35 capacitor and clean the coils. I did not have any freon leaks prior to their service. I suspect they caused the leak either on purpose (I have no proof and this is only my opinion) or they broke the welds on the coils accidentally when removing/replacing it for cleaning). The next day I inspected all their "work". The starting capacitor was just hanging from the wires and not secured. The top of the condensor/compressor frame was reinstalled incorrectly (screws missing and the top of the unit was installed backwards). They had left a muddy mess in the yard from liquids they used in cleaning the condensor coil and also damaged 2 of my home's hardi-plank siding probably due to their equipment falling against my home. Instead of telling me about the problem, they discarded the broken siding pieces. I called another contractor the next day and they (Casteel) made proper repairs for a great price that went above and beyond my expectations. R U N !!!!! Don't walk away from R.S. Andrews.

Our techs Tim and Chevy found problems with system. First they could not get a good reading on refrigerant charge due to blocked up coil. After they cleaned they found approx 3 pounds low which suggests a leak. They found leak and informed would not recommend repairing due to location. They charged system up and gave full disclosure that charge might not hold. Customer called in after hours within a couple days and spoke to Tim who informed customer the leak is a bad one. Customer never expressed concerns to Tim at any time. Perhaps damage was done by other company? The techs that were on site were both experienced and have excellent reputation history.

Through some amateur do-it-yourself plumbing work, I cracked the pipe behind our outside hose bibb completely apart and caused a massive leak. I had only recently moved into the house, so I was unfamiliar with where the main shut-off valve was and I was unable to reach my husband at work. I ran into the house, did an internet search on "plumbing emergency Atlanta" and found R.S. Andrews. I called immediately and spoke to Chris, who helped me locate the main water shut-off valve in the house. He was patient and very respectful, which was great because I was soaking wet, running up and down the stairs to the basement, trying to find my flashlight, noting the water leaking down into the basement from the pipe I had busted, and overall feeling pretty anxious. Getting the water shut off was a huge relief. Chris then set up my job as the next call, and the plumber, Ben Goss, was at my doorstep a little over 2 hours later. He was very professional, evaluated the problem, and wrote up an estimate for me immediately. The job required that he go and purchase parts, and it was already 5 p.m. (rush hour). He still had everything fixed up by 7 p.m. He was even willing to stay a little longer to help troubleshoot and fix some other minor but annoying plumbing issues and didn't charge extra. Great service!
Description of Work: Replaced 1/2 hose bibb with a new one; ran a new cpvc pipe segment into the house and tied it in under the house. Placed new cutoff valve on the system.

We have used RS Andrews for several years to perform any maintenance and needed replacement of parts for our 2 A/C units (split systems - one upstairs, one downstairs). When our downstairs condenser unit stopped working in late June, I called RS Andrews to come out and see what the problem could be. After waiting 2 days for the service professional to come (this was the soonest they could arrive), the issue was determined to be a faulty condenser fan motor. The service professional did not have the correct motor on his truck and would not be able to service me that day. So, I asked for a quote for the work. The quote was from their standard rate sheet. I said thank you, paid the service fee and indicated I would call them back in the morning with our decision to move forward with the work or not. After a quick internet search of the part needed, I quickly discovered the quote they delivered was 4 times that of the cost of the part to the general consumer (meaning retail price - the wholesale price was even less). I politely declined additional services from RS Andrews after finding this out. I did the work myself.

Called the company in regard to apparent water leak between street meter and house. No water was evident but our bill from the county water dept. was 20x what it normally is! Meter was running when no water was being used in the house. We obtained an appointment for a day an a half later. Plumber was running a bit late for the late afternoon appointment but called to advise. He quickly identified the problem of the location and stayed a couple of hours until @ 7 p.m. on a Friday to complete fixing it, providing a full explanation of how the leak could have been caused, as well as written detail of the work provided and receipt for payment. We used R.S. Andrews for plumbing once before in Oct. 2009 (which was somewhat of an emergency to which they responded within a couple hours, again around dinner time, and resolved the problem). We will gladly use this company again for emergency plumbing!
Description of Work: Identified location of outside water leak underground and replaced a broken nut on the main service line at meter and tee for irrigation system, plus tested system to be sure it was working properly.

The experience started off fairly well, as the technician was on time, polite, and seemed to know what he was talking about; however, the air conditioner only worked for approximately 6 weeks before failing again. On top of that, RS Andrews charged me almost $800 to install these components, which I found out (after the fact) only cost about $60-$75. I understand that there are labor costs involved, but $725 for 15 minutes' worth of work seems extreme. Especially when you take into account the fact that the unit broke down again less than 6 weeks later. I will NEVER use this company again and I will be sure to advise my friends and co-workers to stay away from this service provider!
Description of Work: The technician replaced the capacitor and contactor in my Trane air conditioner, and also added a hard start.

The Trane system was approximately 15 years old and had a laundry list of items that needed attention repair, placement or cleaning. This was our first time out on this system in recent history. Technian advised given state of system, repairs may or may not get system through the season and perhaps a new system might be advised. System did operate from July 9 until August 26 (given heat during that time it ran a good amount of time) On Aug 26 we returned and advised perhaps a new system is the best choice. We offered half of July repair to be refunded toward a new system. We ultimately did refund in full client's July payment for a maintenance agreement. I do apologize that we were not better able to service this client, I am confident, based on my knowledge, we took reasonable care to ensure fair and responsible service was attempted. As for pricing, we've seen many companies operate differently, many come and go over the years. Contacted R.S. Andrews to repair/replace A/C. Had had good experience with their with plumbing division years ago. After problem was diagnosed, it took three days for estimator to come to house. He did a good ole boy hard sale of what he had laying around the shop including a new furnace which was not needed. RS Andrews replaced A/C but it had to be repaired twice in the next 14 months. I recently had another unit replace by Castell HVAC. Their unit was better quality, more energy efficient, and about $1,500 less. DON'T USE RS ANDREWS!

We returned in April 2008 for a condensate pump that was original equipment and not part of the work we did. In July 2009 we did replace the evaporator coil due to a leak. I can say we are always trying to improve our business processes to make sure each customer is treated above expectations and receives great value for their dollars invested.. It appears we did not meet expectations in this case and for that I apologize. The first 10-15 years they were wonderful. The original brothers sold the company and after that I thought the service went down hill. I thought they were more interested in selling things than the repair work I hired them for. I last had them out for the annual heating inspection and they sent someone that looked like he was about 15 years old. He came in all self important with a camera and proceeded to inspect my furnace and said "I think Im just going to have to condemn this". I was highly offended by that and basically ran him off my property. The last time I used them for plumbing I needed some drain cleaning on a drip stop. They sent out someone who was very nice and professional and did a good job. However, he was a little more intent on selling me something rather than doing the job. I've heard from others that they really are in it for sales and not service. After that I did have an occasion to get a new unit so I had them come out to give me an estimate along with two other companies. Again they offered to put in a no name system rather than a name brand and it just seemed to me that they had really fallen down in quality and personnel. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: RS Andrews Air Conditioning Heat & Plumbing has done work and given me estimates in the past. I first used them in 1986 for plumbing, heating & ac, electrical, etc. I also had a home warranty with them.

I am concerned I may not have the most recent activity at this member 's household as I show March 2007 being the last date of service for a plumbing issue. I can say we strive to offer options to our clients. We train and discuss regularly the importance of addressing the customer issues at hand and not selling unnecessary (dishonest) products and services. All of our employees are thoroughly trained and supported by field and office supervisors should a customer ever feel uncomfortable with a diagnosis or discussion. In June of 2006 we did give an estimate on a new system. We carry a wide range of brands including American Standard (Trane), Amana (Goodman, which is the largest manufacturer in the US), Lennox and Mitsubishi. All of which are backed by excellent warranties. And we always say, if the system fails to perofrom in the firest two years we will replace it or refund the money. I'm sorry if I can't speak more directly to this customer's concerns of three or four years ago- unless my records are mistaken. I use them because they are pretty easy to contact. I feel safe with the representatives that come out; they are usually professional and courteous. When there has been a problem, they?ve been pretty up front about what it is and it?s not like they were adding on a whole bunch of stuff. I find that they are high on some of their bids.

It was very professional, very efficient, and I was very happy.
Description of Work: Originally we had a water heater installed in the wrong place. We then had some flooding last year, and the water heater flooded. When I had a problem with the water heater, they came out and took care of it.

It was implemented before we moved in so we continued to use their services. They are very responsive in answering calls. They are not very efficient in terms of billing and administration. I have to make several calls to get a billing issue fixed.

This is a strange situation and here are the details as I have them from our records, just to be complete. The LeBlancs' purchased a maintenance agreement for two visits (one heat and one cooling) in May 2006. We performed the cooling visit in May 2006. We called to do the heat visit in December 2006, Feb 2007, June 2007 and again June 2007. We either mailed or left voicemails on each occasion including once to a cell phone. Our records then show the member called in November 2007 upset we had not called to earlier schedule his visit for the heating. We completed the visit in Dec. 2007. THEY DID VERY GOOD WORK, THEY WERE PROMPT AND RESPONSIVE.

This guy really did an excellent job repairing my air conditioner. The price was great and they were very kind. They squeezed me in that day on an emergency call. My system is working great know. I recommend this company.
Description of Work: The capacitor in the air conditioner exploded and the system was overcharged. They were able to fix it and recharge my system.
