Working with Navid was great. We got several other quotes, and Navid was the only person who said he could raise our lawn and get it level without having to terrace it or put a retaining wall in the middle of it. He showed up and did the design, talked with us, and making suggestions to get what we wanted. This all happened at the end of 2014, while we were securing funding and waiting until the conditions were right for the job. Once it was time to start, Navid and his crew came out and did the job quickly - not like other contractors I've worked with that start a job in order to get you locked in and then disappear for weeks. Once started, he had his crew here working all day for several days until everything was level. We had to change the design at the last minute on the poured concrete pads, but it was because Navid himself was at the job site (not just his crew), and once he looked at how it was coming together he saw it would look better and be more functional with the new design. I was hesitant, but let him do it since he was the professional, and I'm glad I did - it looks great now! We did end up using a few more truckloads of dirt than estimated, but Navid absorbed the cost of half of them, and also worked to use other dirt from the lower area of the yard to minimize the amount of extra dirt needed. As we were going over budget, Navid made some suggestions for work I could do myself (bury one of the drain pipes, take down a tree) that would help save money and stay closer to the original budget. I appreciated this greatly, as I don't mind doing some of the 'grunt work' myself. This is work he could have easily done and charged me for without ever mentioning it to me, so i felt like he really was working with me to maintain my budget. Once level, we let the yard settle for a few months before we laid the sod. When it was time, we called Navid and he and his crew came out quickly (they were delayed a few times due to weather - not his fault) and got the yard finished up in about a day. He also sat with us and drew up a design for plants to put in the new beds around the yard that he added. All in all, everything went great. Navid definitely isn't the cheapest landscaper to work with - but I learned my lesson last year with cheap contractors. You get what you pay for. As far as price/quality ratio, Navid can't be beat. He did lots of work above and beyond, we discussed doing some work next year in my front yard as well, and he had his crew move some rocks and lay some pine straw in the front yard free of charge in order to help hide the worst of the current conditions, all without me even having to ask - just because he knew how much I hated looking at those features! I also had a concern about how one or two pieces of sod were coming in 6 weeks after they were laid - I called Navid and he came over that very day (again, no charge!) to look at it and make sure everything was good (it was, just need some sand to raise a patch up). Navid was great to work with - very personable and outgoing, and he did amazing work. He'll be the first person I call for my next outdoor project.

They did a very nice job. We didn't really have a lot of other providers to compare prices with, so they might have been a little bit on the pricier side. They completed the work for us and it was about $4,500.

When we first reached out to Outdoor Makeover, our home was in bad shape. We had found a previous contractor on Angie's List who had completed only a portion of the work they had promised on our project and left our house in shambles. One of the areas in most extreme disrepair was a below grade storage area. Every time it would rain, water would pour in excess into the space leaving it wet, muddy and full of mold and mildew. After firing our worthless, no-good, thief of a contractor, we searched for weeks in an effort to find the right landscape / hardscape company to complete the job. Sounds like an easy task, but after receiving visits from several contractors, we still were not satisfied not only with the options presented, but with the time frames that we were being provided; being in the heart of the renovation season, landscape companies all seemed to be booked and were not sensitive to the urgency of our project. Enter Navid and the Outdoor Makeover team. Upon calling and providing a description of our challenges, Navid was at our house within 24 hours despite his extremely busy schedule. As a matter of fact, he offered to come during evening hours making it convenient for us while extending his workday well past 9 pm. After surveying the site, Navid provided his expert opinion and knew exactly how to address the issue by extending a retention wall and installing a drainage system to properly divert water away from the house. In addition, he had the aesthetic vision, sketched up the solution, and provided a firm timeline of when he and his crew could perform the work (within days despite a full workload he already had). Ultimately, before Navid left my house that evening I had a firm scope and estimate in my hands and full confidence that Outdoor Makeover was the right company to perform the job. Work commenced exactly on schedule and the labor crew conducted themselves extremely professionally, from a technical perspective as well as excellent customer service. They maintained a clean work space and performed extremely efficiently. These guys knew exactly what they were doing. Part of this can be attributed to them being highly skilled, but they also had on site direction provided by Navid who was sure to be there to manage the efforts and ensure that the project was going smoothly. In addition to the agreed upon scope, they even trenched an additional drainage line free of charge. I won't say that Outdoor Makeover was the least expensive solution, but they certainly brought the greatest value to the project. Anything less would have been insufficient. So far the solution has performed flawlessly and we have had no water penetration at all. Outdoor Makeover certainly exceeded all expectations on our drainage and retention wall project and I would highly recommend them to anybody requiring landscape or hardscape services.

The job is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Navid was very active in determining our wishes and designing the project as well as making sure everything was done to our satisfaction. He went above and beyond when we asked for some modifications. I was a bit nervous on the cost, not being familiar with planting and rock costs so I added up what it would have cost me to buy the plants myself. I was very surprised that it almost equalled the total cost charged for the plantings. I was also nervous on whether the water would be routed properly. My patio was being swamped during every rain with dirt carried on it. Outdoor Makeover totally corrected this and gave me my patio back. I greatly appreciated the professionalism of Navid and his crew. He was very responsive and jumped on every request and question. Great guy and a great company. I highly recommend Outdoor Makeover and I will be using them in future projects.

The yard looks good, but it was very difficult to work with Navid. He was very casual - he put trans music on while sketching on a notebook sheet of paper. He was condescending about our yard, space, and budget. He forgot to plant tulips, as was included in our contract, and was upset that he had to come back to do this - and guilted my husband into planting them with him. Additionally, I feel that some of the work was lazy - I found a pile of rocks behind an oak tree that he placed there from digging up - rather than disposing of them - an extra fee of $800 that we paid for him to take out rocks from the backyard. The last point was he was very back and forth on price - he never gave us the Angie's list discount - it was for "things that come up" - yet when the rock disposal came up, it couldn't be taken out of that. He also asked for more money because he did such a great job, when we were paying our final bill - didn't say "I need $$ to cover XYZ" but just said "you know, if you want to pay me more because I did so much for you, you can" and stayed in our house for nearly 30 minutes repeating what a great job he did and suggesting we give him more money. Our yard does look good and he was responsive - but I would not work with him again because he was unprofessional and made both my husband and I uncomfortable.

All in all the project went great. Outdoor Makeover will not be the cheapest company to use but I believe their price is fair for the quality of work they perform. Omid and Navid are great to work with and the quality of what they produce is second to none. I am extremely happy with the new deck and all of the construction/landscaping they have done.

The entire experience with Outdoor Makeover was very pleasant. I contacted them after fighting a french drain that seemed to be causing more problems than it was correcting. The owner, Navid, came out to look over the drainage issue and provide recommendations, and I found him extremely easy to work with. He came up with a solution that involved multiple approaches at dealing with the standing water that had plagued me over the past year -- removing the existing french drain that was trapping water in the yard, regrading the yard to create a low spot, adding a drain at that low spot to carry the water off the property, connecting the drains from the gutters to the drain at the low spot in the yard, removing trees and limbs that weren't allowing the yard to dry property after a rain, and installing new sod. With all the rain we had this spring, I was worried that we would be extremely delayed in getting started, but Navid and his team were able to get started shortly after the initial design consultation. Even more surprisingly was that it only took 2 days for all of the work to get completed. The workers were very respectful of the property and neighbors and did a great job and keeping the job site clean both during and after the work. I was also impressed with the amount of communication from Navid and his team. They were constantly sending me updates via text message, which was a great change compared to previous landscapers that I've worked with. Navid has continued that communication even after the job was complete and has followed up multiple times to make sure I was still happy with the work and that there were no issues. I was very pleased with the finished product and am already planning additional projects for Navid and his team.

Outdoor Makeover did a tremendous job, from the initial consultation to the completed project. Working with Navid and team was a great experience. Our front yard was in complete disarray. The team installed new sod and edged it cleanly, installed several dozen plants including an elm tree, redid a retaining wall that was falling apart, and installed several inches of hardwood mulch around all the new plantings. The initial consulting and design was a pleasant experience, and Navid was able to work within our budget. During install, the team came out and made quick work of transforming the front yard. They were able to salvage any plants we wanted to keep (transplanting some to the back yard). Navid even surprised us with a few hydrangeas that he planted in the back yard. They always kept us informed and involved in the project and ensured we were satisfied along the way. Upon completion, the team did a great job of cleaning up the area. I would definitely recommend Outdoor Makeover and would definitely use them again.

In 3 days we have a new backyard. Navid the owner and his crew did a fabulous job. This crew was on time everyday, very mindful of our house and property and cleaned up well after themselves. The thing which I was most impressed was that both Navid and his crew know only one way to get things done and that is to do real high quality implementation. Interesting fact was that even the some of the smaller items which Navid took care of on our request at no additional cost were done with same level of execution as the actual job, no shortcuts were taken. The pricing did seem high at first but looking back at it I am happier this way then hiring someone cheaper who does not believe in perfection.

It was perfect! They were fabulous! They were creative, on time, and wonderful! I have recommended them to several of my neighbors.

After meeting with 2 other landscapers we decided to go with Outdoor Makeover because of their experience and great designs. The crew was efficient, nice, and detail oriented. Overall the yard looks a lot better and they did a great job!

During my initial meeting with Navid Derakhshan, owner, we talked first about what my vision was for the yard and my budget for the work. This discussion is why I ultimately chose to work with Outdoor Makeover. While the project could have easily doubled in price with numerous add ons, we always worked together to keep the project within the agreed upon amount. At the meeting, plans were drawn to illustrate the work, a detailed agreement outlined each item with costs included so that we had a complete understanding of the entire project, and I could use the plans to present to my HOA for review and approval. This meeting and others took place in my home at times convenient for me. The team was professional, courteous and highly accommodating throughout the project, including times where we made changes mid stream, ex. adding stone staircase and landscape boulders, removal of junipers. Additional work was included with no extra cost including removal of another tree that downed during a storm, transplanting of existing bushes to use in new landscape, extra stone pavers and boulder, and additional grading under the deck to help with drainage issues. I was extremely pleased with the overall project and highly recommend Outdoor Makeover.

The overall project went extremely well. First, Outdoor Makeover's owner Navid Derakhshan personally led all design reviews, early discussions, and project quoting, and played an active role overseeing the work all the way through completion. The design discussions were interactive and productive, as Navid made sure to listen closely to our needs and budget parameters. He came back to us promptly with ideas and and showed a personal stake in the overall direction and outcome of the project. His team was very professional, punctual and hard-working. They also identified where there were small imperfections and then made sure those were fixed on their tab. And, when there were other tangentially related small projects that were needed, they were quick to use their whole team to find a way to please us as clients. We look forward to finishing up final touches with Outdoor Makeover and doing other backyard projects in the future.

Navid of Outdoor Makeover is very professional, does excellent work, and provides prompt service. We had major drainage issues in our yard that was causing extreme soil erosion and preventing grass from growing fully as it should. Navid was able to rectify the drainage issues with innovative solutions, level off the soil that was previously eroded and thereafter re-sod the yard. Navid then came up with a nice stone patio extension design with plants and flowers that really made our yard look great and we were finally able to enjoy our yard. Any additions or modifications that we needed or wanted done while the work was being performed Navid made sure it was done well. We would use Outdoor Makeover again for landscaping needs and highly recommend Outdoor Makeover for landscaping services.

It was fine. I just decided that it was a little too much money for me for what I wanted to do. He did have an iPad so he showed me different things on it but it wasn't anything drawn to scale or anything like that. It was just pretty much, we can do ths over here and just showed me pictures on his iPad. I don't think I even made an appointment until the next year. I purchased it and I think it was still good for a year. I just moved into a new house and was trying to do some other interior things first. I didn't make the appointment right when I purchased the big deal. Scheduling was easy. I know a neighbor actually used them and they were very happy with the work and everything that they did for them. I think they really liked it. I can't really tell you what it would have looked like but I think it would have been probably an A. I think that it was a good value according to what my neighbor's looked like and they did use them. I will probably use them. I would recommend them if somebody's getting quotes and different ideas to probably call them.

I thought there would be a drawing or something tangible that they would give me, but they only gave me a bid. What I thought I was getting, I didn’t receive.

We talked to 3 other landscaping companies about the drainage problems in our backyard but they proposed just cosmetic changes to our backyard and not a real fix for our soil erosion problems. Outdoor Makeover really listened to us and proposed installing drainage boxes to move rain water flow and save our backyard. The OM team worked so hard to install the drainage system and sod in just 1 day. The OM team was very professional and brought the best equipment. Also since the installation, Navid, the owner, has been quick to respond to our questions and concerns.

Outdoor Makeover did an outstanding job designing and creating our outdoor living space. Navid and his bother, Omid, worked diligently from the beginning to understand our vision and make it a reality and on time. The commitment was made to have the job completed by Thanksgiving and they went the extra mile to insure the target date was met. We were extremely pleased by the honest and open approach. Like any element of home renovation, there are complications. Navid and Omid explained in detail what needed to be done to overcome obstacles and provided options. Their number one goal was always to understand what we wanted, listen to our ideas and make it work. Even in cases where Navid failed to foresee issues, he took care of it without additional cost. Not every job is perfect. We have some issues with standing water in the backyard where the drainage installed does not appear to be functioning exactly as intended. Here is the good part about working with a company like Outdoor Makeover who puts high value on integrity and reputation. We discussed the problem with Navid and how best to approach it. We agreed to watch the drainage through spring. If the problem remains, Navid committed to whatever is necessary to fix it at no charge to us. Outdoor Makeover is not the least expensive. But the quality, design and integrity are well worth the cost. You can count on them to do an outstanding job and treat you like family. Understand that whole home landscaping jobs do not go exactly as planned. So, you have to have additional monies set aside in the budget to deal with the unforeseen. Count on Navid and Omid to help work you through that aspect of the job. Here is the bottom line, we love our outdoor living space and screened in porch. We highly recommend Outdoor Makeover.

A couple months ago Outdoor Makeover repaired and remodeled my brick patio. They did a beautiful job. Recently an issue came up with the French drain that was part of the original project. I called Navid and explained the situation. Within a couple days Navid was there to check out the drain. He had a crew onsite in a couple days more. They did a beautiful job of correcting the problem. As usual, the entire thing was handled professionally and the work done was absolutely top notch. Navid never mentioned any additional charge. I cannot speak highly enough of Navid, his staff and the way Outdoor Makeover does business.

Navid was very professional and creative and a pleasure to work with. I never had trouble reaching him with questions. This was a multi-family project and he exhibited extreme patience until we came up with a viable solution - over 3 months of discussions. The work was impeccable and exceeded my expectations. I had enough confidence in his work to actually leave town while the work was being done! He texted me updates and pictures. His prices are not the lowest, but it was worth paying for his and his teams' skills. I am considering a new project in the spring, and I will definitely use his company again.

I wanted to spruce up the side yard and have steps built from the side door. Also wanted a stone path from the back to side yard. I originally considered stone steps and stone patio. However, because of my limited budget and occasional use of my side yard, Navid suggested a simpler and less expensive approach as noted in the description of the work done. I thought it was a good idea, and Navid suggested a plan that I liked, but had not considered before. Navid was friendly and persuasive. His crew worked hard and did a good job. I opted for a design consultation initially, and Navid designed a plan that included a makeover of the backyard. My budget wouldn't allow the backyard makeover at this time, but I will consider having it done at a later date. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results.

They were very helpful, however, they may be outside my price range, though. They have great ideas and listened well.

Outdoor Makeover are not the cheapest but they deliver high quality work. The estimate process was straight-forward & very comfortable and personal. The resulting landscape plan was hand-drawn, as opposed to computerized and printed, however it was clear and captured the agreed-upon layout of the future state of the yard. Before the start of work we received excellent communications, and then the crew arrived exactly as agreed. Once on site, they shone. Outdoor Makeover has the right people at all levels, the right equipment and the right subcontractors to deliver what they promise, and they executed our plan amazingly. Throughout the process Outdoor Makeover's management was in close contact with us to ensure that they were on track towards what we envisioned, and indeed they nailed it: the yard is exactly what we asked for, and what we were promised. If we need more work, we will be calling Outdoor Makeover again.

We had a drainage issue where water was going into our pool, and causing a lot of problem. At the same time we got hit by a lighting where many of our outdoor systems, such as irrigation, lighting and pool equipment were adversely affected. We research many companies and the deeper we looked the more impressed we became with Outdoor Makeover. We scheduled an appointment with them, which was a very easy process, and the Navid, the owner came out. Once he saw the problem, he was able to come by with a few different sceneiros and ran it by us. Together we collaborated on what we liked and he continualy perfected his design and helped us find all the hidden potensials in our property. The price was very competive and we knew we can have a good experience. When the work started, everything went smooth, the crew was very professional, and outfitted well with uniforms. Navid, the owner continuous checke the quality of the work, and address what was not to his standard. Throughout the process, Navid and I did walk-throughs and at received excellent communication from them. They cleaned up well after the job, and the final design truly complemented the existing design of the backyard with a pool in it.

Navid from outdoor makeovers is a creative genius, but what makes him truly exceptional is his ability to do all that he does within the framework of your vision and budget. The staff they employ are truly professional craftsmen (their work is exceptional and it will probably outlast our home). We had a rather large project which included removal of an old driveway grading the property and the addition of a patio, inset pergola, fire pit, and retaining wall. With the scope of work you?d be surprised to find out the job was completed in 9 days (ahead of schedule). As with all jobs things come up and here is where the Outdoor makeover team really shines. We had some unforeseen drainage issues and a concrete slab of a parking pad that was twice as thick as expected. There is no nickel and diming. We were brought up to speed on the day the problems were encountered (courtesy of the almost daily walkthrough with Navid) and came up with a plan to do the job right. In the end we were a few hundred dollars over the initial quote which I?m pretty sure didn?t even cover the materials to rectify these things. We couldn?t be happier with end product and look forward to spending a lot of time out there. Outdoor makeover?s reputation is well deserved and i?m sure we?ll have them back for stage two of the renovation. Thanks Navid.
