Cunningham Associates Heating and Air Conditioning

First I just need to say the customer service at this company is EXCEPTIONAL! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my experience in dealing with them. From the people who answer the phone/schedule the jobs to the technician (Bobby who came out) to Bob, one of the owners of the company. Really, really great experience. Now on to my experience...Bobby from Cunningham came out to give me an estimate to repair our old furnace. He was thorough and really explained to me all that was wrong and causing the problems. He needed to order a part to repair it so he could not fix it the first day he came out. We ultimately ordered the part, which just took a couple of days to come in. Bobby came back out, installed the part and our heat has been up and working. He was honest and not trying to sell me anything. I highly recommend them and will refer everyone I know that has heating/ac problems to them.

Outstanding experience. One of the "big" heating and a/c firms was pushing replacing the whole unit, and was going to take one to two weeks longer to complete the smaller repair option (of the coil and plenum). Cunningham came within a day or two, and never suggested a full replacement of the unit (since it was not needed), just the coil change. They also worked with the manufacturer to get the coil replaced under warranty. The price was good, service was professional and timely, and communications were clear.

Great! We will use them again in the future as well as recommend Cunningham to our friends and neighbors.

My experience was very positive! The Service Tech arrived on time. His truck and equipmnt were very clean and well organized. The Tech was very professional. Tech explained the work to be done and reviewed results with me afer the work was complete. Tech took extreme care when inside my home, wearing covers on his shoes and wiping down the attic pull down door for any finger prints after he finished.

From start to finish, the double duo of Chris and Stan worked both efficiently, politely, and diligently during the entire 1-day replacement of my old system. They put drop pads everywhere and were sure to clean up thoroughly as they went. I cannot get over their professionalism, and both Chris McCoy and Bob Cunningham were remarkable sales associates and supervisors as well. I cannot WAIT to recommend Cunningham Associates to everyone I know. Their CARRIER brand, too, is the best; I feel like I'm in the best hands possible and am thankful and grateful in every possible way! WOW!

We were not getting appropriately balanced heating and A/C our home. I contacted them to provide me an estimate to balance the heating and air. They came in as the single most expensive quote (by far) at $15,600. Another company (established, highly rated in ATL and around for many years) quoted to do the same work at $4,960. What was MOST bothersome though was that the guy kept acting like a used-car salesman - heavy pushing (almost berating) and kept saying: do you want to do it right or don't you? Because I was trying to understand the different companies' fixing approaches and reasons, I kept asking questions. At one point he even said he as not going to explain because then I would not need them - EVEN though he kept acting as though he was better than others and saying he was an engineer. Many other companies I spoke with also have engineers on staff. I don't know whether they are any good, quite frankly, but their estimate was $10K above the next quote. Simply alarming. Perfect example of really needing to get multiple quotes.

This company was recommended by my builder. They have a good reputation with my neighbors. They will call me to make an appointment. They will give me appointment options. They are responsive.

I called for an estimate to have my heating and air conditioning replaced. Mr. Cunningham arrived for his appointment on time and reviewed the various options and prices available. He followed up later with an email with specific numbers. We had three estimates for comparable systems and Cunninghams was the lowest. Later we contacted Mr. Cunningham by phone for clarification on several points which he provided. We informed him that we had decided to proceed with the installation and he gave us a day his crew would arrive. His crew consisted of people that worked for him. The work began on the day promised and was completed with little or no disruption to our household. His employees provided adequate explanations of the operation of the system. Subsequently Mr. Cunningham arranged financing as promised.

I first contacted Bob Cunningham in the spring, and he came over and provided an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and offered me several ways to have a better system for our house. We ended up having to wait several months, but Mr. Cunningham contacted me in the fall via email, and we subsequently worked out the deal. The 2 installers could not have been nicer or more efficient. They did a wonderful job and left my house spotless, even after coming through my kitchen ceiling. Today, the installation supervisor came over to inspect the job and make sure I understood the system and how to program it, etc. From start to finish, this company was absolutely wonderful to work with. They were always right on time and finished their work quickly. They provided a form with instructions on how to receive my $1000 rebate, and after doing it on-line, was done in 5 minutes. I was so pleased with Cunningham, that I am recommending them to anyone who needs a new system or just seasonal service on an existing system. They are top notch.

After another company couldn't repair our broken furnace, I checked Angie's List and found Cunningham. Lisa scheduled someone to come out the same day I called. Sean quickly determined what was wrong and repaired the problem. He also noticed we hadn't changed our filters in way too long and replaced those, too. He got the system to work again, but let me know there may be another issue but I'd only know after running the system. That evening, I noticed the furnace wasn't turning off. I called Lisa back the next day, she sent Sean back out and he repaired the broken relay. I appreciate that he warned me it could happen and came back immediately to fix it. And one really nice feature - he wore covers over his boots, which I really appreciated! Such respect for our home.

They performed the maintenance inspection on time and professionally. First time a company has used a specialized solution to clean the coils. They also checked the electrical system.

I recently saw some fluffy stuff come out of my heating/AC vents. Mark the technician was there the next day. After careful checking, he told me an animal, perhaps a mouse had gotten in the ducts and scruffed up the insulation but was now gone. He said the ducts were unharmed, and since it would cost me a fortune to replace them, he did not recommend it. He spent lots of time making sure everything was OK. He was terrific!

I looked on Angie's List for a reputable A/C company to fix our broken air conditioner. I saw Cunningham Air Conditioning and called them. They sent a technician to fix the problem. He found what it was and told me what it would cost to fix it, and the major obstacle was replacing a fan. I waited, and waited, and on the third day I called them, they told me they order the fan from the company, it would be in shortly. Well shortly became a full week on the 5th day, I told them it was too hot in this house and I would find someone who had it in stock. It finally came in and the person repaired the unit. The problem with Cunningham is that they are poor communicators. I sat for days and I don't think it is my responsibility to keep calling them for answers. I had to basically tell them I am going to some one else before they took me seriously. Since they worked on my air conditioner before and were familiar with the unit, I asked them if they could put a guardian air filter on my unit. My boyfriend had a double lung transplant and we had a mold problem, he has a respiratory ailment, so this is really important for us. Never heard from them, I called them and they told me they are still researching. What is there to research, you either can do it or not. I didn't write a review before, because I understand that ordering takes time and the lack of communication and the unwarranted suffering in miserable hot weather for a week happens. Me giving them another chance and still lousy communication is just totally unacceptable to me.

After some really horrible experiences of late, I can honestly say that these guys prove that prompt, courteous, professional and skilled service providers actually do exist. I purchased a maintenance plan from them back in January, and they made their second visit under that plan today. I made an appointment (at 8AM so I could still get to work on time). They called the day before to confirm and arrived right on time. They answered all of my questions--some of them were even plumbing related but the guy that came out used to be a plumber so he answered those as well. They did the maintenance work and made some suggestions ("keep an eye on your water heater, it's getting up there"). Both of my experiences to date--with two different technicians, by the way--put them easily in the top 1% of service providers that I have ever dealt with. In short, I can't come up with any negatives. They even wore the little protective booties/shoe covers before stepping foot in my house. Based on the consistency in the quality of service each time, I can only assume that the company is expertly managed. Now, if we could only get them to lecture their peers on what it means to provide great service.

The quality of the Cunningham service and support was excellent from the initial visit by Bob Cunningham to the installation and setting up of the units. The friendliness and quality of the Cunningham technicians was excellent and the after installation training on the product was superb.

They fixed my air conditioner with no problem. These people were very honest and they knew what they were doing. They never tried to overcharge me and they were very cautious about what they were doing.

They did an excellent job and they were wonderful. Their customer service is awesome and I would recommend them to other people any time. They are professional and answer all of your questions. It does not take them long to finish the work either. I am very pleased.

They showed up on time, answered all our questions and gave us tips on keeping our furnace running smoothly for an extended period of time. They are personable and knowledgeable.

I have been very satisfied with the service provided by Cunningham. They do not try to talk me into a new unit, they repair my existing unit as needed. They order the parts, put them in and make sure it is working properly. They provide my yearly maintenance as well on my 2 central air units and furnaces. I have called other people before and they were uncooperative. This company is always accommodating.

Cunningham's technician Sean was honest, professional and courteous. I've used him on several of my properties and he has been wonderful. Quick, on-time and definitely would use again and recommend. I've used other H/A companies over the years for my homes and rentals - never really satisfied until I found Cunningham on Angie's List. Cunningham has all of my business from now on. Highly recommend.

They were able to come the same day as my phone call! This is especially impressive since we're in the middle of a 100+ heat wave, and the repairman said they were incredibly busy and typically working until 10 every night to keep up. Turns out my compressor was broke. He identified the problem within 5 minutes, and showed me the machine readouts to confirm it truly was dead. He also found potential problems with my heating system, that I chose not to have fixed at the moment, but will look into for the future.

Overall, they are very quick to come and make repairs, reasonably priced, professional, and their staff is very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend them.

They arranged for a prompt visit and were on time in arriving. We had inquired about the savings/maintenance plan beforehand, and wanted the fan fixed. Shawn came out and found that the plug to the fan had come loose and plugged it back in. He took a look at our heat and air units and told us that we would be better off not starting the maintenance plan until the fall as everything looked good right now. He could have charged us for finding the loose plug and gone ahead and started our maintenance now (even though we didn't need it), but he didn't. We bought the maintenance plan (two maintenance visits in a 12 month period, no service charge on demand calls, 10% off on parts) and it will kick in next season (when we need it). They could have charged us plenty for simply plugging in the fan and they could have gone through the motions of maintenance now even though we didn't need it. This honesty is commendable and has earned them our loyalty.

They do this two times a year under an agreement we have with them. I guess they could be a little less expensive, but, they will come back and do what they missed the first time. They will accept full responsibility if they are wrong and apologize. The guy is a good guy, but sometimes you have to keep an eye on him.

Great experience. Was here 1 hour. A/C works great now.
