The consultation was fine, well done, and professional. They did exactly what they said they would do. The project we had in mind was too much money.

The end results were about as expected, but the owner was apparently a poor estimator of the job costs. He complained during the course of the job that the work was more extensive than he agreed to do, but when the actual wall stone dimensions were measured, the calculated frontal area (square footage) was actualy slightly under the agreed upon amount of stone wall exposure in the quotation. I actually paid him an addendum in spite of this, though the job was almost exactly as I first presented to him. I would have expected him to honor his original quote and not press for additional funds. As a retired Chief Engineer for a large corporation, I'm not sure he knows how to properly quote a job accurately. He needs better estimating tools such as a Excel spreadsheet, etc. to help him...s

Provided advice on two projects and a quote on one of them.

This project has been over 4 years in the making ever since Scott replaced the siding on the back of our house with stacked stone. At that time we had noticed the concrete upper pool deck was sagging quite badly and was in danger of collapsing. Scott worked with us for the next couple of years to scope out the project and give us multiple options on what could and could not be done. When we finally decided to pull the trigger on the project, Scott was meticulous about walking through everything, step by step to ensure we fully understood what was going to happen. The payment terms were fair and there was a sizable chunk left at the end to ensure everything was done before he received final payment. Having worked with Scott before, I had very high expectations which I made very clear up front. Unfortunately for Scott, my travel was very light for most of the project so he and his team had to endure endless questions from me - all handled with good humor. At the end of the day, Scott told me to trust him and it would all be beautiful. Of course it was and we are delighted with the results. The flag stone is beautiful and the flag stone coping along with new pool tile ties everything together. The new BBQ is awesome and matches the stacked stone he put in a few years ago. I really couldn't be happier and we are now contracting with Scott to re-do the back yard.

They sent an email that said they did not service the area.

I purchased a "design consultation" on Angie's List because I needed to replace my existing driveway, a short retaining wall, and my front steps. I had difficulty getting in touch with the provider but did eventually set up an appointment. What was provided was nothing more than a quote for services. I told him that I had expected a bit more since this was a design consultation advertised as a reduced rate and he was very annoyed. He told me that Home Depot charges for quotes and that he was no different. His quote was actually higher than others I had received. He was very unpleasant. I did retain another company to do the work and did not have to pay for the quote. I received more upfront information from both of the other companies from which I received quotes than I received from Arnold for my design consultation. I was extremely happy with the contractor I ultimately used for my project.

This project was carried out very well. Scott is so professional polite and accommodating. I was most impressed with his stone masons...they worked very hard were polite and their precise measuring of this project reminded me of mathematicians. We simply love our patio and fireplace. We recommend Scott Arnold Masonry to anyone and we look forward to working with him again.

!A fantastic experience!! This was for my son-in-law & daughter's house. Scott designed the kitchen of her dreams! We could not be happier! The whole project was handled, as usual, with the utmost efficiency and professionalism. They turned a large modern kitchen in to a one-of-a-kind character statement There was an unexpected delay with receiving the special-ordered beams for the ceiling..but due to Mr Arnold's long-standing relationship and history with the suppliers...this company really bent over backwards to resolve the issue and get the beams there to get the job done! I always love their work...will be looking forward to the next project!

We found someone cheaper to do the work. They were fine and if I had work to do again I'd have them back out for another estimate.

The folks from Arnold's were fantastic to work with. They helped with brainstrorming the original design based on our initial thoughts. They made great suggestions and recommendations about what would work and could work better. The design process was key to a great project. After design, the committed to a start and completion date for the entire project. The team that did the work was professional and worked diligently to complete the project on time and with attention to detail. When the work was done, everything was packed-up and you could hardly tell that anyone had been there.

Overall I loved all of Scott's recommendations to add curb appeal to my home and I will be calling him again for future projects.

Got an estimate for concrete and stone work

They were good and affordable. They were able to quote me online. They were fabulous.

I called and emailed them through the Angie's List website. I never heard back from anyone.

We've been in our home (roughly 3000 sq ft. home on 1/3 arce) for eight years, and decided this past November that we would do our first ever backyard renovation. I checked on Angie's List for landscaping and hardscaping companies to do our work, and decided to go with ARNOLD Masonry and Concrete because of their excellent Angie's list service record and because they were a one stop shop for all the work we wanted done. Our renovation included the following improvements: the construction of new Crab Orchard flagstone patio, the construction and staining of a 12' x 12' x 8' pergola, the installation of a 5' x 8' in-ground gardening area lined with stone, the construction of a cedar shadowbox fence to enclose the backyard, and new landscaping along the sides and back of the home. From start to finish, Scott Arnold (owner) was very responsive to my emails and questions; he listened to what I wanted done, and provided opinion and input that was very helpful in shaping the design. He gave me a clear and detailed contract, with turnkey pricing so that I knew exactly how much I'd be spending up-front. The work crews and subcontractors who did the work on my home were on time, hard-working, and polite. Scott knew what was happening with my project at all times, and came out several times to make sure that the work was going according to plan. The only delays that we had were the result of bad weather. I am very happy with the experience, and the results are fantastic! My backyard looks great!

My husband and I had been searching for a company to renovate our basement for over a year. What we envisioned was not the typical sheetrock and carpet basement. We met with Scott and went through our ideas along with photos and looked through Arnold Masonry’s portfolios. We desired a richer feel which involved brick and stone and Travertine,etc, as well as specific woods and a wine cellar. A bar and a mural were added with textured walls as well. An amazing transformation which surpassed our original thoughts and vision. Arnold Masonry was not the least expensive yet we have found that you really cannot compare pricing to final product in that business. Without a doubt, we made the best choice and highly recommend them. Thank you for a delightful experience, look forward to working together in the future.

An awesome company. The first thought that popped into my mind. Scott and his crews are the best in what they do and their “hands on” approach and customer service is top notch. Scott and his foremen were always there for us, whether through phone, email, or in person, to answer all questions and to provide info that we didn’t even ask for. The design approach was great fun and we learned so much.

We were totally thrilled with Scott and Arnold Masonry and Concrete during the phases of our 2 and a half month project. Scott is a true craftsman, an artist with a fabulous eye for quality, detail and style. His numerous suggestions for improving the remodel of our entire home has clearly been the differentiating input between a nice job and and absolutely spectacular job. Our remodeling project has been professionally handled from beginning to end, from the initial design approach, to discussing and finalizing each phase of our remodel, to working with such a talented craftsman. Since we first looked at our house four years ago when we were buying, we saw potential in the yard. Over the years, we have interviewed several companies. None of which were able to make us comfortable enough to actually start the project. From the first time Scott Arnold came out to the house, we knew that he saw our vision and though it took us a bit of time to negotiate and ask questions our level of comfort never went away. The project went smoothly and started immediately. The only setback was a bit of rain which is unavoidable. We had the chance to watch some of his workers and were constantly impressed with their level of commitment to their craft. Plum, level, professional masonry. Stained fence that finishes the yard. Quality plants that will keep our yard blooming year round. A drainage system that stops our worries about whether our house or yard will flood each time it rains. Plus so much more. The before and after pictures are hard to believe but to see it in person is phenomenal. We will be able to enjoy our yard for years to come simply because Arnold took the time and care to meet and exceed our expectations. Thank you and your hard workers.

Update on 10/24/11. Several attempts to solve quality and poor workmanship problems have been ridiculed and minimzed by Scott Arnold. One of the problems brought up to Scott Arnold was a water feature loosing 20 gallons of water in a span of 24 hours Scott Arnold refuses to address the problem and has actually accused us of modifying the water feature. Ga. =================================================================================== Once we finally decided on a major hardscape project in our back yard we searched for 3 years to find a professional to create the exact look we wanted for our patio. Our plan evolved to include a fire pit, water feature, brick retaining wall and a blue stone floor. We knew what we wanted but no one would listen to help us create exactly what we wanted. We interviewed dozens of contractors, masons, landscapers but it was when Scott Arnold came to see us that we knew we found the perfect fit for someone to make the project come to fruition. Scott came out to see us and understood what we wanted and helped us visu alize and made suggestions to help make the patio turn into the formal terrace we had been dreaming of for years. Scott Arnold is a true professional. He is a master mason and his staff was on time and the project was completed in a very timely manner with a thorough clean up afterword. What we did not count on was Scott?s desire to attain perfection with this project. He was aware of flaws a layman would not be, but made us aware of them and made corrections. My wife and I wanted to brick the exterior of our 26 year old cedar frame contemporary ranch home and replace the soffit and fascia. After a review process with several contractors, we chose Arnold Masonry and Concrete for the job. Although not the lowest bidder, we felt most comfortable with his reviews and his performance in our interviewing process. As the project began, and progress made, we never looked back. Based on the early completion of wonderful exterior masonry work, our project evolved into a complete exterior overhaul. Each of the jobs were completed on time (or earlier), and the work was outstanding. The workers were courteous, prompt, and very good at their respective crafts. We were truly impressed with the attention to detail, and the professionalism of everyone involved. Scott was on-site almost every day, and was a joy to work with. He provided several creative ideas along the way that proved to be very nice touches to our existing plans. After the exterior was complete, we were so pleased with the work that we continued with more remodeling to the inside of our home. Scott remodelled a bathroom and existing interior fireplace, and painted the entire interior as well. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. We never intended to do all of this work with one contractor. However, the initial work and the on-going favorable experience was excellant. Scott's demonstrated performance gave us the confiedence to take the project further. Everything about the work (material selection & work) was quality. No cutting corners. I would certainly recommend Arnold Masonry and Concrete to anyone who; (1) is looking for quality masonry work (and other remodelling work as well), (2) a contractor who carefully monitors the progress of his work, and (3) takes personal pride/interest in satisfying a customer. The entire project was completed in approximately 10 weeks which was simply amazing to my wife and I despite some rainy weather along the way. Scott may not be the cheapest in town but you will certainly be satisfied with the quality of his work. This is exactly what my wife and I were looking for, and concerned about the most. We have been pleasured by many fine compliments by our neighbors within our subdivision, and family members as well. Most of all, we are very pleased ourselves. Scott Arnold's crew was both efficient and skilled, doing the job carefully but without dragging out the process over an extended period of time. Craftsmanship obviously was a priority and I also appreciated the fact they did an extremely good job cleaning up afterwards, which included powerwashing my driveway. My family and I are very happy with our new patio and I highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone desiring beautiful stonework for their home.
