Description of Work: They gave us a thorough list of items that needed to be done to insulate our house.

Description of Work: I got an energy audit (attic) and 500sq.ft. of blown in insulation. A 500.00 value for 149.00

Description of Work: Installed fan damper in the attic for bathroom fan. When complete, the fan cover in the bathroom was sticking out and not properly seated. The operation of the fan with the new damper was never tested. They installed attic insulation to bring up the R-value to R38. The only measure of how much insulation was installed was visually by the installer. I didn't feel that comfortable that an additional 12+ inches of insulation was actually added. The person that installed the fan damper asked for full payment of the job as the insulation installers were just arriving. It's too early to determine the benefits of the work done. I plan on following up with the Production manager regarding my concerns.

Description of Work: For several weeks I had a lot of difficulty setting up my appointment because the woman who answers the phones only does so during 4 hours of the day that were convenient to her, but because of the nature of my job, not actually convenient to me. I asked three times to make the arrangements via text or email or even through phone messages. I even told her just to pick a date and time to assign me and I would arrange for someone to be there. She insisted she had to speak to me live to "set up an account" which had to be done by phone because it was too difficult/complicated to handle by typing or through messages. When I left a message saying this was utterly ridiculous, and just give me my money back, THEN I got a phone message from a gentleman who said he had arranged x date and time and asked if that would be convenient. It was. He came on time, did the work efficiently, and left. Had we just done that in the first place, I would've given all A's.

Description of Work: I bought the Angie,s Deal - which I would caution against with this company. I did get an automated email and then a simple book in the mail. After waiting a month or so a salesperson arrived.I had confirmed twice with their office and appointment setter that I wanted the work to be completed at the same time as the "audit". When the salesperson arrived in a compact car, after I had booked several hours on a weekend (thinking the insulation would be installed) I was concerned. A check into my attic, and view of two doors was the extent of the inspection, although he did let me use his infrared thermometer to check a few rooms. My quote for addional services was provided on a scrap of paper, although was emailed the day prior to the work. None of this was likely the fault of the sales person - its a flawed approach by this franchisee. |The issue is that (1)salesperson had no ability to install the insulation as promised (2) I had already given the company $250 which is nonrefundable (3) according to the sales person 100% of the amount I paid goes to Angie's, so they really see it as a discount amount. | |Since I had sunk $250 into the company I went ahead with the quote the salesperson provided, with the assumption that if the services performed seemed suspect or shoddy I would have it completed elsewhere. The good news is that the crew was very good and completed the work well. | |If I wanted to take the time to interview and bid three contractors and vet them myself I wouldn't have joined AL. Buying into a lead program for service providers ( their words not mine) and getting stuck isn't what I expect. | |

Description of Work: They were suppose to do a blow test audit for leak around doors and window and anywhere I might have a leak, but they never called me. When I called them to set up an appointment they never called back.

And I only rated an overall "B" because I can't give anyone an "A" until I've see their work/services, but I like what I've seen thus far. | |I just now finished my initial consultation with Don, with Dr. Energy Saver (/Arbor Insulation). Due to a scheduling problem, I had to postpone the original appointment until today. Don was a pleasure to meet with, was highly professional and performed as thorough a walk-thru as he could. The reason he could not provide his complete assessment was because of a current issue with my home, nothing he could have done. He's to email me the proposal this evening and we'll see where we go from there. I like what he had to say, I am aware of insulation/ventilation issues needing to be addressed around my home and hope the pricing will meet with my expectations &/or make financial sense. | |...more to come...
