Response from Arbor Insulation Solutions
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review although all we did was provide you a quote. As I review the work performed by the other contractor, I am disappointed it wasn’t made clear that without a thorough air seal of your attic, the insulation added will perform in substandard manner and it will not achieve its published R-value. The most important step EVERY homeowner should take to improve their comfort and utility bills is to properly air seal ALL the gaps, cracks and holes in your attic before you add insulation. Insulation's job is to resist heat flow, not air flow. You need both. As hot air rises in your attic, it pulls cold air (A/C) with it through these gaps and cracks. Any reputable insulation will be guaranteed by the manufacturer not to settle. Our proposal included the items needed so that the insulation would perform at its full rated value and your home would be more comfortable. In order for your insulation to function properly, the items we proposed must be included. These additional items do add more dollars to the proposal, but allow the insulation to function properly so a home will get value out of the insulation. Just installing insulation without the associated items in our proposal is of very limited value. We would not feel comfortable proposing just insulation to a customer. I hope this explanation helps.
