J&H did a fantastic job removing multiple dead trees on my property. The team had a lot of experience and looked like a well oiled machine. I was very impressed how smooth the whole process was and what I was quoted was exactly what I was charged. I would highly recommend them and will use them again if I need more trees down.

Hello, let me preface my review by saying everything stated in this review can be backed up by the conversations I had with this Company in text form. I had tree branch that was over my neighbors property and wanted it cut, I got a quote of $575 and the limbs would be cut up small and put curbside it to picked up by the City, that was J&Hs exact words. Wednesday comes around (bulk trash day) and they don't pick it up. I text J&H and they tell me "they don't normally put debris in front of people's property but they can haul it away for minimum of $200, to say I was shocked and disappointed at this response is an understatement, for the next 7hrs. there were a series of back and forth text in which I was told that in the 23 years in business I'm the first person that's ever gotten mad because I won't haul away the trash for free, THE AGREEMENT WAS CUT THE LIMB AND THEN CUT IT UP SMALL AND PUT IT CURBSIDE FOR THE CITY TO PICK UP, those were his own words. I got so tired of the gaslighting and unprofessionalism that I cut down the piles myself!! If you take anything from this review please do not pay until the "agreement/job" is completed because even if you have a text from the Company stating what the Agreement is once you Pay they have no incentive to own up to their word!

The guys were great! They cut and cleaned everything up after. When the stump grinder broke, and got fixed, they got right back out and ground all the stumps and raked the area where each stump was grounded. THey were very fair and reasonable on their cost.

They were professional and prompt. They provided a reasonable estimate compared to others. The work was done on time.

I got 3 quotes and J & H was in the middle cost wise but decided to use them due to no reviews for the cheaper service. Jessie, with 20 years experience and the brother of James the owner gave me a quote of $400 so I gave him the ok. They told me it would be a week or more and James showed up as promised. After climbing the tree and cutting off most of the branches, he yelled to me that he couldn't cut the tree down for $400 due to his liability in the event it fell on the back neighbors nearby screen patio or my screen patio. He would need an extra $190 to cut the tree down. He said the tree was "really dead" as opposed the being "dead" and that made it more dangerous for him. To prove how dead it was, he climbed down and took about a 3" diameter branch he had felled and proceeded to break it over his knee, except he couldn't break it! I had been warned by the more expensive quoting company that the tree could become dangerous to climb after about a month and it had been about 2 weeks. I was going out of town later that day for more than a week so I had no choice but to pay the 47% up charge. I could not understand why someone with 20 years of experience couldn't give a more accurate quote. As far as the actual felling of the tree, James obviously knows what he is doing and landed it precisely where he needed to. The cutting up and transport of the trunk pieces was done quickly for a total on site time of 1 1/2 hours. James had 2 helpers with him. After giving him the $400 check I'd made in advance and the 47% increase check of $190, he left and I took a closer look at his job. All looked ok except he had hit my chain link fence gate with his little backhoe/log mover and dented it. He remembered to charge me the extra $190 but forgot to mention that. In conclusion, J & H Tree service (James and crew) are very good at cutting down trees but the remainder of their service needs some work.

Jesse and his crew did a great job! He is very knowledgeable and professional. He returned my call promptly to schedule an estimate. The price he quoted was far less than other services. Jesse communicated with me frequently to schedule the job, and kept in contact by phone and text message when he had to reschedule unexpectedly. The trees look great and everything was cleared from the yard. Thanks!!

J & H Trees was recommended by a close friend who got a price that was half of the nearest competitor. When he looked over my three trees, his price was 10% lower than his next competitor, but he was not shady like the larger company. So on the basis of price, he was best, but in the way he conducted his team and the care he took in the cut down and clean up, J & H was tops. He had to bring in a cherry picker for the smaller 30-foot trees, and insured the metal fence only 8 feet away was not damaged, nor the wooden gazebo. All the logs were brought to the curb in a size acceptable for pick up. In fact, two 14 feet long bamboos that were lying on the ground were taken to the curb, even though they were not part of the job! When he did a final clean-up, the clean-up-blower person did some unexpected extras--leaves and debris which were not connected to the tree removal, around my swimming pool and my basketball court 50 feet away from the action, were also cleaned up! An unexpected free extra which shows how conscientious they were. This is a family company that is courteous, honest, local, on time, licensed, insured, and will save you money when you get a free estimate. They take credit cards and offer several discounts.
