It went very well. They trimmed all limbs hanging over my front sidewalk, off my roof and away from neighbors roof while very perfectly shaping the tree. All limbs were shredded up and my lawn was cleaned up better than it was when they started. The office followed up the next day to be sure I was happy with their service.

This is not the first job Steve and his crew have done for me. Each time they come they are very professional and courteous. The trees come down without any damage to the surrounding areas and the crew cleans up so well it's like they were never there. Steve outsources the stump grinding and Mike is just a professional and courteous as the guys at Gulf Coast. I have recommended Gulf Coast to friends and they were just a pleased with the service they received they referred Gulf Coast to their friends. Good group to do business with, Steve does what he says he will do and on the day and time he says he will be there he is. Great job!!

On about February 21, we contacted Gulf Coast Tree Service (after very carefully going through Angie's List). I talked to Steve, and he .came out, gave us an estimate, and told us what we needed to do to get county approval to remove the tree. He e-mailed us the contract and the paperwork we needed to sign , we signed it and e-mailed it back to him. On Monday, he applied for the county permit, and received the permit on March 4. He called us and said they would arrive to remove the tree the next morning. On March 5, they arrived on time and were ready to start to work at 9 AM. The tree was a very large oak, probably 35-40 feet tall. It had been planted by the squirrels nearly 40 years ago. The team worked very fast and very professionally. We just cannot say enough about how effeciently they worked. By 11:30, the tree was down, large wood loaded on a reuck, limbs all ground, yard raked, sidewalk and street swept and you would not know they were ever here! We had an excellent experience with Gulf Coast and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and will call them again for any tree problems we might have.

Amazing. That's the best adjective I can think of to describe Gulf Coast's work. It's a somewhat convoluted story, but stick with me: There was an oak tree that bordered our driveway and was causing the concrete to buckle. It was big, around 20" in diameter, and we really didn't want to take down such a beautiful mature tree, but the driveway was going to continue to get worse, so? I knew Gulf Coast Tree Care as an HOA board member due to work they performed for our HOA in removing some palm trees from our park. They did a great job there, so I know they would be the best choice for removing my oak tree. Back in October or November, I saw one of their trucks a few doors up the street giving a neighbor an estimate, so I flagged the gentleman down and asked him to give me an estimate for removing my oak tree. He explained to me that he was the owner and had come out of retirement due to some personnel changes in the company. He wrote up an estimate and gave me the necessary papers for the County permit. At that time I told him I probably wouldn't have the work done until after the first of the year. Later that month I had another tree care company give me an estimate for the same work. It was considerably more than what Gulf Coast had quoted. Hmm. Fast forward to January. I contacted Gulf Coast and Steve came out to my house to give me a current estimate. It was at that time that I discovered Gulf Coast had changed ownership. Steve was very helpful in explaining the permitting process and what it was going to take to remove the tree. He gave me a new estimate that was a *bit* more than the one the previous owner had given me. This pretty well confirmed to me that the previous estimate had been too low, as the competitor's numbers were much higher at the time. Steve was apologetic and explained the change in ownership and what had taken place as a result. I was very clear in explaining to Steve that I understood the situation and I did not expect him to honor the previous estimate, as he had not prepared it and it was the product of the former business. I knew Gulf Coast's reputation well enough to know that I was getting a fair price for very high quality work. I gave Steve the go-ahead a couple of weeks ago. The permit went through without a hitch, and he emailed me Sunday night to let me know that could start the work this week. I told him to start whenever he was ready. On Monday he came and essentially stripped the tree bare of all the limbs. Had I not noticed it I wouldn't have known they were there. The yard, driveway and surrounding area was so clean I couldn't tell they had been sawing the limbs off a 45 foot high tree. Steve emailed me Monday and explained that they were not able to finish so they would be back Tuesday to take the tree down and would return later in the week to grind the stump. On Tuesday he returned and took the rest of the tree down and was ready to grind the stump, but I wasn't expecting him to do it until later in the week so I had not turned off the irritation system water supply. When Steve learned this he let me know that he would return on Wednesday so I could shut off the water Tuesday evening when I got home. When I arrived home tonight there was a pile of mulch where the stump had been, and again, and I can't think of a better way to describe it, the work are was surgically clean! Steve followed up with an email tonight to let me know they were done and to inquire as to if I had any questions or concerns. He was also kind enough to include a copy of the final invoice for my convenience as well. I can't say enough good things about Steve and Gulf Coast. He was professional, prompt, courteous, always kept me informed of the progress of the work, and made sure to address any questions I had. While I was not present while the work was done, I can assure anyone that when they finished each day the work area was cleaner that it had been when they arrived. I highly recommend Steve and Gulf Coast. It's difficult to find a good reputable business at times, and there is no doubt in my mind that Gulf Coast stands head and shoulders above their competitors.

Darren made sure to brief me about post care and concerns going forward. Thanks for a great job and looking forward to using you guys again!

I contacted this company because of all the great reviews. They came out and inspected the tree and gave me an estimate later in the afternoon. I like that Steven Kale, a certified Arborist, came and inspected my tree as I was concerned about the trees health. I felt very comfortable with them. We rescheduled once, but they contacted me in advance and I was not inconvenienced. They did a great job and also cleaned up as well. I would definitely hire them again.

Steve and the crew arrived on time and immediately went to work . They laid down plywood sheets from the street to the work area in the back yard . Each time a piece of equipment was moved or brought in they added or moved the plywood . They used a bucket truck to cut the tree's down from the top using ropes to lower the pieces down to the ground . Then a clamp truck was brought in and used to hold and remove the large trunk pieces that were left after the rope work . Both of the trees were in close proximity to our and the neighbor's fences . They used even more plywood against the fence to protect it from any damage . They then brought in a chipper , disposed of all of the debris and loaded the trunk pieces into a truck . After removing the equipment and plywood , the crew raked the entire area and hauled away all of the lose debris . The only thing that they left behind were two stumps , a lot of sunshine and happy customers ! Gulf Coast Tree Care Inc. has the equipment , expertise , integrity and customer care that few in this business can offer . This is a class act and these people are experts ! Good job Steve ! This is the type of company that we Angie's List members are seeking .

Steve and his crew are exceptional. I've had a total of four tree trimmed over a span of a few years, and they always go the extra mile. They arrive when scheduled (if not a little earlier), and I am totally impressed my their professionalism and work ethics. They always leave my yard a lot cleaner than when they arrived. When my oaks need to be trimmed I will surely call them again. By the way, when two of my neighbors saw the work they did, they also hired them to work on their trees.

Steve wasn't available the day of service, but his three man crew showed up on time, were very professional, courteous, and responsive. They did everything the contract called for and more. They were very safety conscious throughout their work and cleaned everything up when they were done. They are certified arborists and their estimate was 1/2 the estimate of the first arborist I contacted (Also on Angie;s List).

Gulf Coast Tree Care in-house Arborist made first visit several days before work commenced. Client explained requirements and Arborist made recommendations and cautioned Client regarding un-needed work and expensive work such as hand picking of moss out of tree limbs. Arborist provided cost estimate in writing and Client signed immediately. Arborist provided copy of contract and insurance certificate. Crew arrived at appointed time with professional and clean, new-looking equipment. Arborist was on site to explain in detail the planned program. Work proceeded as planned even though weather was unstable. Crew was moved with my permission to help a family remove tree debris that fell on their house during a high wind storm. The Crew returned to complete work and perform final cleanup. Crew leader spoke to Client about results obtained and satisfaction of Client before departing. In Summary; the work was done in a professional manner by trained and experienced crew led by professional field and office personnel. I would recommnend Gulf Coast Tree Care to my family and friends for their native and ornamental care needs. I would use them again for followup maintenance. Thomas J. Leto

I checked them out on Angie’s List, and when I called them I was able to get someone out for estimates that same day. They were the only ones that showed up out of the other companies that I had called for estimates, so that’s why I went with them. They told me it’d be a month and a half before they could come out to do the work. In the mean time, a broken branch had fallen on the house. I wish they would’ve just told me the tree trimming was more urgent, since a branch caused damage to my home. When the work was being, I told the technician what I wanted to have trimmed, but when I came out, they didn’t even get all of the branches that I wanted them to take out.

We have used this company in the past and they performed the work just as it was explained in the first contact. They did the same exceptional job this time as they did in the past. The trees could not be climbed due to the condition of the trees so a bucket truck was brought in and the trunks taken down in small manageable pieces. All debris was removed or run through the chipper. Little sign of the work remained after they left.

Everyone I dealt with was extremely courteous and professional. I called to request an estimate, but the phone was busy. Howvever, a voice message asked me to leave my name and number and informed me that they would try to return my call within 15 minutes. Liz, from the office, called me back in less than 10 minutes and was very helpful in taking my information and setting up an appointment for Phil to meet me, evaluate the job I wanted done, and provide me an estimate. They gladly accomodated my request to meet him on a Saturday morning and he showed up at exactly the time promised. Phil was very personable, knowledgable (a certified arborist), and friendly. After looking at the property and asked what I had in mind, I told him that I thought I wanted one large limb removed from one tree and 2-3 large limbs removed from another. Phil told me, without hesitation, that they could do that. However, he also told me that, if it were him, he would do some pruning and significant foliage reduction rather than merely removing the limbs and explained how removing 2-3 large limbs from the one tree would cause trauma to the tree itself and may actually shorten it's lifespan. He pointed out everything that he would prune and remove, which would stll result in the elimination of the potential hazards to my house and neighbor's property. He gave me an estimate for each alternative and I selected the alternative he proposed, even though it was slightly more than I had anticipated. I agreed to sign a contract and he explained that the office would call me to schedule the specific date to do the job and told me that, because of prior jobs to which they were already committed, it would be within 4 weeks - unless they had to respond to unexpected emergency jobs arising from fallen trees damaging property as a consequence of any storms. In negotiating a final price, I inquired about the discount offered on Angie's list, which he gladly applied. In just under two weeks after signing the contract, Liz called me and told me that they would be able to schedule the job for the following Tuesday (May 31st) if I was agreeable, which I was. On the 31st, two workers arrived at my house just before noon and told me that they were there to do the job and that Phil was to join them in 10-15 to go over the details of the job. When Phil arrived, he asked me if I would like to accompany him as he pointed out the job requirements to his crew to ensure he did not overlook something. I did so and it was very beneficial because his crew chief (also a certified arborist) raised one or two points and offered some suggestions and recommendations which we all discussed and upon which we reached agreement. Phil left and his crew completed the job exactly as we had all agreed, and removed all the debris and left the yard completely clean - just as Phil had promised. The entire job was completed by the two members of the crew in about 4 hours and my wife and I could not have been more pleased. About an hour after I paid the crew ( by check) and they left, I received a phone call from Liz at the office who was following up to see if I was completely satisfied. She told me that, if I was not satisfied, she would contact Phil and have him return to the job site and she would not deposit my check until I was completely satisfied. I told her that there was no need to ask Phil to return since I was completely satisfied with the job their crew had done and would be happy to recommend them to anyone who needed similar service.
Description of Work: They reduced (pruned) two very tall laurel oak trees in our front yard, which included removing some medium-size limbs that were hanging dangerously over the street and a neighbor's driveway. They also removed a lot of heavy foliage on several large limbs that were overhanging our house, which we were afraid may have come down through the roof during a storm. They removed a lot of the foliage from the lower parts of the trees to raise the bottom of the canopies to the same height, removed all of the limbs and cuttings, and left our yard spotless.

Phil came out and assessed the property. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions, educate me on tree care, and to help prioritize the work to do to fit within our budget. They promptly pulled the needed County permits (which I didn't even know they needed). In regards to schedule, they did everything when they said they would. Showed up on time. Everyone on their crew was extremely professional (it was Darrin and his crew, GREAT job). They had to deal with a very, very unfriendly neighbor on one tree that was very close to the property line. This neighbor was just being a jerk, even parking his boat right next to the tree they needed to take down (knowing we were doing this work). Everyone representing Gulf Coast Tree Care was extremely professional and handled the neighbor in an excellent manner. Liz at the office was very easy to work with. Overall great service. The trimmed trees look great. They were also great at cleaning up after themselves. Racking and blowing all the tree debris. Left the yard looking better than when they got there. Definitely recommend this company.

Mr. Kale was very professional with his assessment of the work needed and explained what he was recommending. The proposal was well written ,included everything we had discussed with copies of insurance papers an educational materials about the company as well as information about trees. He was on the property the morning the work was to begin instructing the crew about what needed to be done. The crew was also very professional and asked questions when not sure about what I wanted done. They were on the job the entire day and cleaned up when finished. Mr. Kale was at the job most of the day. He returned at the end making sure we were pleased. I will use them again and recommend them to my friends and family.
