Red Cap Plumbing Air and Electrical

Arrived promptly and quickly repaired the slight leak at the kitchen sink cold water cut off valve. $160. The cold water pressure at the faucet was weak. When I fully opened the new cut off valve we found a new leak in the faucet. Repairman returned the next day to fix the new leak. $113. It seemed that the second leak was a result of fixing the first leak but they said NOT. A second leak at same location still seems pretty coincidental. Showed up on time both times and worked quickly. Discounted second visit.

Estimate was performed for $29.95. One of the three items to repair was replacement of kitchen faucet not including turn off valves. The price for the faucet alone was $270 (inexpensive faucet included valued at approx. $70). I did not want to get the work done since he was basically charging $200 per hour of labor. The telephone staff (Anne and Susan) were extremely nice, as well as the person who gave the estimate (Mike). However, they were 1-1/2 hours late for the appointment (they were suppose to arrive from 12-2 and they arrived at 3:30. I would not call this company again. It surprises me that Angie's List has this company rated overall an "A". It should be "B" or "C" based on my experience.

Very good. Mike was really nice. He listened to what I had already done and responded accordingly. He found the cheapest way to get the job done. Not that it was a big deal, but he gave me an extra flapper for our toilet when he saw the one we had previously. Just a nice gesture.

They were fast, polite and reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again!

My home is a bungalow built in 1922, you can imagine how many different people have worked on the plumbing. Mikey came out, found out the leak was most likely due to a back up in the system holding the water back at a joint that was meant to flow down rather than hold water. I had noticed some slowing of my drains. I had him give me an estimate which was very reasonable compared to another company previously contacted. We decided to move forward with a full re-pipe of my sewer line to the city main. Unfortunately the pipes did not cooperate and backed up over Christmas! Mikey came on the appointment day hoping to complete ASAP since we were not able to even live at the house at this point. Mikey did a great job, even took care to do his best to not destroy my lawn using plastic to hold the dirt and grass. Mikey had to get the city involved since the main tap was ancient and also needed work. Through the whole ordeal he was professional and went above and beyond.

John, the owner came to my house personally because one of his men was out that day. He quickly went over the work which needed to be done and gave me an estimate. He was quick and efficient, he also put on shoe covers to walk around my house, which my wife appreciated. I would call him again in a minute. It is good to see men who still care about the work they perform.

My daughter is in town taking care of me, because I just had surgery on my shoulder. She was doing dishes & some water had spilled on her foot, she thought it was from over splash, but it happened again a few minutes later. When she opened the cabinet there was water everywhere, under my sink. So, she looked in the November issue of Angie's list, which was all about toilets & plumbing & remolding of bathrooms & kitchens. On page 8 was an little excerpt from a member about Red Cap Plumbing. With the holidays being here, I didn't think we would be able to get a plumber to come out until after the New Year. My daughter called the next morning and they had a plumber out the next morning @ 8:30am and he was done with the job by 9am! WOW! Went great. They we very caring on the phone after I had had a bad time with another local plumbing company. Came the next day. They picked up the water heater at the supply house, got back & were done by noon. No mess was left. Mike did a clean job at a fair price. I felt I could trust this company

I've been using the company for over a year, & have really been happy with them. They come out withing a day or two, usually 30 minutes early of the time promised, and are very clean and very nice! I've never had to recall them, as I have some companies.

I was very pleased. They arrived on time, gave me a very reasonable estimate and completed the work very quickly.

SEEMED OKAY AT FIRST, THEN STOPPED WORKING AND BROKE. I HAVE HAD TO REPAIR THIS MYSELF TWICE AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK RIGHT. LOOKS AS THOUGH THEY DID NOT USE THE CORRECT INSIDE PARTS FOR THIS TOILET.

I called for service and they couldn't get to me for several days. I received a call the next day and there was a cancellation or something and they were able to see me that very day. Service representative Charlie was personable, helpful, knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. I thought I had a plumbing problem but he identified the problem with the water heater immediately. I will use this company again without a doubt as I have confidence in their work. I had a $25 coupon from Angie's List but forgot to give it to Charlie for the discount.

Spoke with Ann, who was extremely cordial. She scheduled the day and said she would call in the morning to let us know when the service tech would arrive. Within 2 days, Mike came out arriving on time as Ann's earlier call had said. He took a look at the problem and said he could handle it, no problem! When he went to turn the water off to the house, he noticed our main shut off valve was corroding and set so close to the pipe, it was hard to get your hand in to turn the handle. He offered to fix that as well! He put his red boot covers on before entering the house, cleaned up after the job and was very professional. It went so well that while he was there, we got his recommendation for replacing the 20 year old toilets that were having flushing and running problems, wasting a great deal of H2O. We excepted his bid to do that work and they came back and did that job today. Communication from Red Cap was wonderful, service was prompt, efficient, professional and clean!!

An excellent professional transaction from phone call consultation to job analysis to job completion. Glad I found Red Cap through Angie's List. Red Cap Plumbing may charge a bit more, but you get what you pay for!

I thought the overall job was done OK, however when I had the inspector look at it, he commented that he could not pass the job because the plumber did not complete it properly. The plumber Mikey did not put the cover the wires completely and put a cap at the end of the disposer. Small Jobs Electric came out to do it.

I called in the morning to see when someone could come out. Ann told me they could have someone out to the house in the afternoon. Around 1:30, she called to give me an update. A second call came around 2:30 letting me know the technician would be to my house within the hour. Once he arrived, I showed him the problems, and he gave me an estimate for money and time. He was able to complete the job in about half the time he thought. He was very courteous and neat.

Red Cap Plumbing had a poor overall experience, though, at the end of the day, they handled the problems they caused us in good faith, and the owner did the best he could to make us happy. They moved an A/C drain line from one side of the house to the other. The drain line they installed had some bumps in it so that the water ended up backing up into the air handler, causing water to leak through the attic into the ceiling. At first they tried to claim that they didn't cause the problem, but they changed their minds pretty quickly and ended up refunding our money in full and sending out a drywall company to repair our ceiling. The lesson I learned was that you should hire an A/C company to do A/C drain work, not a plumber. However, even though we didn't get charged for the work in the end, the re-quote was high for the number of hours they spent to do the initial job.

I purchased a bathtub that looks great as a freestanding unit, but turned out to be a bear to install. I had another plumber try to install it and could not get it done. I will admit that it was a little tricky, but even though though the guys at Red Cap had never seen this one and it took a bit to figure out how to hook up the remote blower, they got it done and it works great. Price was a little higher than i was expecting, but with the amount of time that was spent in the attic running and attaching the blower in the Florida sun. It seemed reasonable.

They were easy to schedule with, and showed up on time. The plumber was very professional, and did a good job at a reasonable price.

Charlie was the plumber who came out. He even put those "booties" on his shoes and cleaned up the work area when he was finished. I was more than pleased with the company and with him, and I will definitely call them again for any plumbing needs. It was a very pleasant experience.

I am very happy with work done. The employees cleaned up after themselves and arrived as scheduled. Also, the tile man they referred me to did a great job and they coordinated the install of the tub and toilet directly with him.

I called at 8:00am and received a call back at 8:40am. I had a tech here in less than an hour! Mike did a great job. He was very professional and informed me of the work to be done. He cleaned up after the job. I would definitely do business with this company again, plus I saved $25.00 with the Angie s List coupon!

The price reflects a discount of $51. They did outstanding work. He was extremely thorough, he made sure there were no other leaks in the house. I think he did an excellent job just to make sure the job was satisfactorily. I called him yesterday after he finished and gave him this same informat. We are quick to criticize but not to compliment.

Awesome company. Mikey was my service tech. Very professional, on time, did a great job. I'd hire them again.
