This was supposed to be a "4 hour" job according to Ryan of Rayco. Instead when we dropped off the car, they said it would take a day and a half, yet still wasn't complete when we went to pick it up. No rental car was offered. When they said it was done and we returned again, the top was cut too short so they glued a section where they messed up, which is now visible and ready to peel. That's not the worst of it, though that alone is unconscionable. They dented and scratched the car in 2 places and did not tell us. I saw the dings before leaving the lot and they said they would take care of it through their auto body shop. I wanted to take it to my own body shop because I was through with trying to work with them after multiple trips (90 minutes round trip) to their shop for the top alone. They would not work with me on that and insisted on fixing it through their body shop - Jim's Body Shop (jimsbodyshop.com) After leaving it for them to take care of, only 1 dent was fixed. So we had to send it back. Then the scratch was "fixed," but none of this was done competently or satisfactorily. There is paint over-spray on headlight seals, the black trim of the top, and the front passenger side. There is a portion that was sanded but not painted and clear-coated. The color on the panels they did and the original does not match. Rayco said they would make it right, but they have done nothing but try to get by with the least, shoddy work--and hope we don't notice. Neither the convertible top nor the body work to correct their reckless work is satisfactory. Jim's Body Shop said they would make it right, but we are not confident in their work. We took the car to our auto mechanic to check over for a road trip and he wondered what we had done to the car?! He said the value of the car is significantly lowered by the poor workmanship and the way the car looks now. We refuse to have the work completed by Rayco (or Jim's) now because we have given them multiple chances and it has only gotten worse. We asked that they open an insurance claim with their company to pay for us to go where we can get competent work done but they have pushed us off. We do have the car back but not with a decent top, and the rest of the car is not in the condition in which we took it to them.
Description of Work: 6/20/13 - I went to Rayco to get my convertible top replaced.

I stopped by and they evaluated my car. They first suggested some very nice seat covers but the manufacture did not make them for my year and model car, they said they could re-upholster them but of course that would be a higher price than covers would be. I appreciated they tried to provide a better cost alternative and they provide me with a quote. After a few weeks of thought I went in and selected two fabrics that matched well. The owner was very helpful with suggestions. They ordered the fabric took about a week for the fabric to arrive. I then made arrangements to drop the car off. I dropped the car off and the owner offered to remove the back seats and let me continue to use the car, if needed but it was easier for me to just leave the car with them. The next week the car was 100% completed and I picked it up. IT LOOKS SPECTACULAR. Far exceeded my expectations. I wish I could upload photos. i was hoping that it would be as nice the automotive repair shows you see on tv and it was. I shopped three shops before I decided on Rayco and I am very happy with the results.

I removed the old sagging headliner fabric and backer board and couldn't reattach the existing fabric to my wife's standards. After I was in too deep, I was able to drop the backer board off for new fabric (cut and glued) and took home for installation. Same day service and at a great price because I did the removal and reinstall myself.

.It went great! I made an appointment for four days after my initial call, plus Ryan called me the day before the appointment to confirm. The work was done as promised, in the time frame they gave me and for a little less then I was quoted. The headliner looks great and I would definitely go back to Rayco and will recommend them to friends

Stopped at their shop and asked for a quote for upholstery or seat covers for my classic car. I was told that he would check on prices and get back to me. Two days later no call. Called them and again checking on prices and will call back. Two days later, again no call. Called again and there was no one to give me the information. I gave up at this point. Don't waste your time with this place.

Rayco Auto Upholstery and Repair provided services promptly, there was a delay in delivery services from the parts warehouse from which the module was ordered. Rayco's prices were well-under the dealership's proposal.
Description of Work: Full-upholstery of van and replacement of module unit for auto-door locks.

A dealer had quoted a price of $400+ to repair/replaced the cable. Also I would have to leave my car for the greater part of the day. At Rayco the service was performed within 2hrs. and for $85.00. The top now works perfectly. The employees were friendly, professional and knowledgeable and my car was clean when they finished the work.
Description of Work: I needed to have a cable repaired/replaced on my VW Beetle convertible top.
