PALMER'S HARDWARE

They are amazing. They are awesome. I haven't used them for about 6 months. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. If you bring in a picture, or you go in and talk to them, they'll tell you exactly what was going on, I'm not kidding you, they saved me so much money. They will rent you the tools you need, tell you how to get you're job done on your own. You know plumbing, people don't like to do plumbing, but I've learned how to do all kinds of stuff on my own. I recommend them to people all the time.

Went in to buy an extractor to remove broken shower head part from pipe in the wall. The counter lady offered my free usage of a tool you hammer into the pipe so it can grab the piece, then you turn it with a wrench. I was dubious, but it required only a deposit so I took it home and tried it. Piece came out with little effort allowing me to install new shower head. Kudos for knowing what would work and having it available.

I go there monthly. They have every old school weirdo plumbing part known to man. Home Depot and Lowes recommends them. If you have some hundred year old house and you have a plumbing problem Home Depot just carries Delta, Moen, the big names of stuff that is now and current, you try to repair something that is old school they will send you to Palmer. They have the old stuff. They are the best, they are outstanding. If it;'s old and it's plumbing, you got to go there. If I run into an old house or an old plaza and have an old plumbing problem all I have to do is cut out the old part or disassemble the old parts go into the back room or get it on line and ship it in and there it is. Perfect fit.

Very nice experience. We had problems with water valves in bathtub and shower. We would replace washers and 2 weeks later, they needed replacing again, because they leaked badly. We took the parts to Palmer's and asked if they had replacements (1950's hardware). The salesperson told us that the washers kept getting chewed up, because the seat needed to be polished. They polished what needed it and sold us what was worn out. The staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly. We were able to avoid having to hire a plumber, and haven't had to do anymore plumbing work, and it has been several months now. Nobody at Lowe's knew plumbing hardware like Palmer's. All plumbing supplies will now be purchased there, because it will allow us to do the work ourselves. Our neighbor suggested Palmer's, and said that they actually came out to his house and told him what his problem was (also 1950's plumbing hardware). Such willingness to help is rare in many retail settings anymore.

This place has excellent customer service! You are waited on by the owner, his adult daughter (who is just as knowledgeable), or other employees who are extremely talented and eager to help out. It's like a old fashioned hardware store in service and atmosphere.
