Mel is the owner and I always deal with him personally. He is a perfectionist and delivered my car back to me on time and looking like new. I also take my 3 cars to Mel's shop for detailing and they always like like brand new when they are done.

I had the unfortunuate experience of having a large tree branch flatten my car. My neighbor came out and suggested BodyWorks right around the corner.I called my Ins company and they tried to get me to use their own EXPRESS shop. I knew you had the right to chose anyone you wanted and happy I had BodyWorks. Mel the owner was fighting for me and I got the car totaled. Thank God or I would be driving a piece of junk.They go the extra mile for you. I will be telling all my family and friends about this business Paulette Benson

Awesome! We had three estimates from three different companies and The Body Works had the lowest estimate as well as great reviews so we went with them. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They repaired the car and also detailed (extra service we opted to include) and did a fantastic job! The car looks great! All work was done in the time they told us it would be done and for the estimated cost. We will definitely use The Body Works whenever we need these services in the future, and highly recommend them! Not a negative, but something to know-they do not take credit cards so bring your checkbook if paying for services yourself. Well worth it!

Replaced bumper and repaired bend in fender; painted fender.

,I had an estimate from another shop.  I was dismayed by the price he gave me and by the fact that he would not be able to attend to my car for 2-3 weeks.  I was fortunate to have found The Body Works on Angie's List.  Mel Mendez said that he would not simply gloss over the damage, and that he would actually fix the slight dent and match the pain exactly.  He is a master paint matcher.  I was amazed that I could not detect where the damage had been.

He did an excellant job of matching the paint. He is quite the master of doing this. It looks like new and he did the work in two days. He is very friendly and his price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend him and will definitely use him again if I need work done on my car.

I take all my cars to Mel. He is not inexpensive but he does awsome work. I wouldn't use anyone else. Sometimes your car takes longer than he predicts, but it always done perfect. His auto body work is superb, he has done 4 cars for me.

Excellent job!!  I went too far over a parking block at a restaurant, backed up and it tore off a good part of my bumper.  Called for several estimates.  Body Works not only did it quickly, but could use the same bumper to reattach it.  HUGE savings!!  I would highly recommend them!!!

The owner, Mel Mendez, takes his work seriously.  His bid was lower than others I obtained and I was pleased with the final result.  The job took a little longer to complete than originally estimated and there were some shortfalls in his office administration.  Nevertheless, the workmanship was good, Mel was attentive to the jobs in his shop to ensure quality control, and very personable with his customers.  It was a good experience with an auto body repair shop - and that is saying something!

Mel is great to work with. Cars were ready when promised. He gives discounts for cash. He takes pride in the cars he sends out in the street and his attention to detail can be seen in all the the historic restorations coming in and out of the shop. If you're looking for someone to do the minimal and just mask the imperfections, he's probably not your guy. Go to Mel if you want a thorough and professional job .

Mel was very responsive and quickly gave an estimate. He even gave me two other places I could go to do comparative estimates. We I booked him for service, he was very accommodating and did a great job. The car is beautiful again!

Mel and his team were very professional. He wanted me to come down to the shop and show me what was wrong, and what needed to be replaced. It is very hard to find up front and honest people these days, and Mel is definitely one of them. My insurance wouldn't pay for my car to get fixed, so I had to pay for everything out of pocket. I am a full-time student, and work part-time to pay the bills. So I don't have much money as it is. Mel was extremely considerate of my situation. If it weren't for Mel, I wouldn't have been able to get my car fixed. I still have some body work that I will need to get done, and I will definitely be bringing my car in to have them do the work. In my opinion, you won't find a more affordable shop. I will refer anyone I know that needs to get work done to The Body Works.

I have used them several times before. For touch up paint replacement parts, and such and also body work. I have found Mel the owner to be very pleasant and professional and their work is wonderful! The few times they did body work you can not tell there was any work done to the car. Their prices are very fair too, and I believe them to be honest.

When we expressed concern to the owner that the repairs were mostly not made, and the ones made were of poor quality, he became quite agitated with us, said we got the detail for $150, and that he was just and quot;throwing inand quot; the touch ups. He left us with an associate, Chris, who was much more pleasant to work with and who tried to cover the many smaller spots using a white touch-up paint. Not perfect, but much better than the poor job we initially found.
The owner was extremely unprofessional, very sales-y when trying to get our business, then absolutely rude and unresponsive when asked why the commitment he made had not been fulfilled.

A friend familiar with Mel's work recommended him to me to repair some damage to the side of my car. I went in for the estimate which was for $1500, half of what I expected. He recommended getting estimates from some additional places and gave me names of reputable folks. I decided to go with Body Works in part because he was hopeful he could repair the bumper without replacing it.
He expected the work to take three days which was a bit of hardship for me but he said he could call Enterprise and get a good rate on a rental for me which I thought was really going above and beyond. I decided to get by with my bike while the work was done.
I talked to Mel on the 3rd day and it turned out that after his folks worked on the bumper all day and had it repaired and ready to go, it cracked when placed back on the car! I was disappointed but Mel was fantastic and did not charge me for the labor his people had put in since he had thought he could repair it. I did have to pay for a replacement bumper but he got that quickly and the final product looks great! They even detailed my car while it was there.
This is a very professional, family operation. I had a wonderful experience with them and highly recommend them. My car looks fantastic and I couldn't be happier.

Mel's was the best of three quotes I received by far. I noticed when I arrived that he was working on variety of cars, from Fords to BMWs. He explained in detail what he needed to do and what he could also do to save money. As a woman, I greatly appreciated that he was not condescending. He was friendly, funny and polite, as were the rest of his staff. The quality of work was excellent - my car is an odd color and the paint was matched perfectly. He managed to save a couple of parts which saved me some money. When I arrived to pick it up he went over everything he did again in detail. I feel he is trustworthy, honest and hard-working. I would certainly recommend him again. Also, he does car detailing which I intend to try and some point soon.
