Horrible. Unit was uninhabitable, unsafe and unhealthy. I was afraid of bedbugs. We were harassed and threatened to stay in unit by property manager. Landmark Realty violated the lease terms of our rental contract and breached our contract when they refused to follow through with the terms of our contract. Our contract provides to us a 100% refund if unit was not available. Contract states: ACCOMODATIONS:... if your designated unit is not available for any reason, BROKER will use its best efforts to locate a comparable substitute unit. In the event a substitute unit is not available, TENANT agrees to hold OWNER, BROKER, its agents and representatives harmless for any damages, costs or inconvenience suffered and TENANT shall receive a full refund of any and all amounts paid. Per our contract, within the first hour of visiting the unit, we requested a 100% refund. We were refused. Next, per our contract and after much refusing and bullying by the property manager to us, we were given a comparable unit. After Landmark Realty spent less than an hour in the other unit, we were visited by Lisa Blanchard, broker of Landmark Realty who insisted we move back to the other unit. We refused as we received a comparable unit which was clean, clear of clutter, crumbs and bugs and bedding was clean. The unit we now had was what we expected to receive for a rental unit. We paid our rental fee through February. Lisa called Sherriff Preston. Sherriff Preston told us Landmark Realty may evict us if we didn't return to the other unit. We told Sherriff Preston that According to our contract, we were now moved into a comparable unit that was clean (with no crumbs, bugs or debris) and that we told Lisa as per our contract if she gave us our 100% refund, we would leave in the next 1/2 hour. Landmark Realty Lisa Blanchard, broker, did not follow the contract nor did we receive a rentable unit. They did not provide a safe and healthy living environment according to Florida Statue Part II, Chapter 83 Florida Residential Landlord Tenant Act indicating that a landlord is required to rent a dwelling that is fit to be lived in, and to provide a safe and habitable home. The dwelling was unfit to live in. I am a senior citizen over 60 years old and was taken advantage of us. We were bullied, prejudiced against and harassed and threatened eviction for demanding our rights and following our contract.
Description of Work: Contract to rent a unit from Landmark Realty from Feb 1 - April, 2-17. Owners of unit is Tropical Palms L.L.C.
