It had seemed that our condo air conditioner had decided to work part-time instead of full-time (it worked maybe six or seven hours then took maybe a ten-hour break and so on). We had hired Stuart's Major Appliances and A/C ["Stuart's"] once before (October 2012) based on a strong recommendation from Young Electric, Inc., whose opinion we trust. Stuart's did a fantastic job overhauling our a/c at that time, so when the unit began to work "part-time," we absolutely wanted Stuart's to help us with the current a/c dilemma. Because it's August in south Florida, a/c repair professionals are in big demand but short supply. At this time of the year, it's nearly impossible to find same- or next-day service, so when we had to wait five days before a Stuart's technician would be available, we were sad but not surprised. We are rating "responsiveness" as "good" (rather than "excellent") because we feel it was as good as other companies do at this time of the year. On the day of service, the technician was scheduled to arrive between 1:00 and 4:00pm. At noon, we were thrilled to receive a call from the technician, Aaron (sp?) to say that he was available earlier than scheduled and would be glad to come right over. Or, of course, he could keep to our original schedule, go to another assignment and then swing by after that. It was nice to be given the choice; we opted for "now." :) Aaron was everything you could hope for in a professional contracted to provide appliance service in your home, so we cannot say enough good things about him. Highly professional demeanor, obviously experienced and knowledgeable, courteous, congenial but not presumptous, happy to answer questions, freely shared competent advice - all while working efficiently and effectively to diagnose and correct the problem. SPECIAL NOTE: We are particularly impressed by Aaron's handling of an awkward situation that arose when a difficult neighbor took exception to Aaron's entirely reasonable method of accessing the roof (to verify the unit's freon levels). The neighbor went on to challenge Aaron's authorization to access the roof, and hung around for a little extra harrassment before leaving. We were embarrassed by our neighbor's behavior, but admired Aaron's mature and respectful handling of the neighbor's immature and disrespectful behavior. Naturally, we apologized, and are taking action to avert future harrassment of contracted professionals on the part of neighbors. Upon successful completion of the job, Aaron dried up, wiped up, cleaned up, tidied up, and put things back into place (for which we are very thankful). Back in October 2012, we had a similarly excellent experience with another a/c professional (Mike) from Stuart's. It seems that Stuart's hires only the best ... at least that's the way it looks from here. :)
Description of Work: Cleared and flushed drain line; Verified freon levels are good (75/210); and Installed new customer-supplied filter.
