He did excellent work. He is very knowledgeable about the environment and animals of all kinds. My wife appreciated speaking with him about animals, and we also liked that he did not kill the animals that he trapped. We have continued to use him to trap any fruit rats we see, and his prices have been reasonable for the quantity of rodents we had.
Description of Work: He trapped 10 raccoons, 2 opossums, and treated the house for fruit rats. He has trapped the animals, as well as building a casing for the attic exhaust fan to prevent further animals from coming in.

I called Brian because an armadillo had dug a tunnel under my pool. I called Brian and he was instantly very helpful over the phone. He came out to my house and set up 2 traps. He also searched the surrounding areas for other burrows. I woke up the next day to find the armadillo in one of the traps. Brian was successful in capturing the animal on the first night! Brian left the traps in place for the next night to make sure that I didn't have another one under the pool. What I really appreciated about Brian was that he made my problem his own. He actually went to my house while I was at work to fill up the holes and apply snake away to prevent other armadillos from returning. He also had the best price of the three trappers I checked out. Combining the best price with the best service makes Brian the person you should call for any issues you are having with wildlife. I know that I certainly will continue to work with Brian in the future.

I contacted Bryan Cleveland, the owner, on 19 May 2009. He returned my call within an hour or so and arranged to come to our home the next day to give us a free estimate. I had been hearing some noises in the attic during the day and was worried that we had some sort of wildlife in residence. Since there are two fruit trees on our property, we were concerned that we might have roof rats. Bryan arrived as scheduled and did a thorough inspection of the attic and around the outside of our house. He found the screening bent back near a roof vent allowing entry into the attic. In addition, there were fresh droppings in the gutters and in the attic indicating a family of rats in residence. Passageways in the insulation also showed that the rats were coming and going. Bryan gave us an estimate for his work and proceeded to set traps outside. He returned every day to check those traps. The heavy rains played havoc with the traps for the first few days, but then one very large male rat was caught outside on the roof. Bryan sealed up the entryway into the attic and placed traps within. As an extra precaution, he placed heavy screening over another section inside the attic that he thought might be an additional point of entry. None were caught inside; the rats were gone. I have not heard any more sounds coming from the attic. Bryan knows and does his job very well. He explained everything to us up front and answered all of our questions. It was a pleasure to get to know him and have him working in our home. His estimate included all of the materials he used and multiple trips to our home over a 10-day period. It's also reassuring to know that his services include a six-month warranty for rats.

I called Bryan to tell him we had a coral snake on the playground. This was a playground at a corporate day care center and I knew it was a coral snake (When red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow. . .) He came out within the hour and removed the snake. He checked for the mama snake but there were no others. This snake was 8 months old, he said. This happened years ago, maybe 12 years, but I just remembered who he worked for after I got taken by another animal trapper in the area last week. I am very sad that I only had Bryan's number all those years ago and didn't remember who he worked for. I joined Angie's List last night and after perusing the "animal removal" services, I saw Bryan's name and the light bulb went off!
Description of Work: Bryan removed a young coral snake from a day care center's playground. He came out within the hour.

Bryan is WONDERFUL! He came over-no charge and let me know what it would cost for him to do the job. Then told me what I could do to remedy the situation-A to Z! He spent about an hour with my husband and I and asked that we just send him referrals whenever anyone asks-so-here it is-there's no bigger referral than Angie's List. I would call him again in a heartbeat for ANY animal pest problem. He knows his stuff, is prompt, and sweet as can be!
Description of Work: Came out to my home. Taught me exactly what to do to get rid of the rats we were having. Came to the house and checked my roof for entry, found an open wall under the eaves where rats or squirrels might get in. Evaluated our yard, lanai and garden.

Bryan is outstanding and does great work for the money. He captured my unwanted visitors in the night and showed me how to do so with my own cages for future unwanted visitors. He also installed and painted metal barriers to keep squirrels out of my attic (as my neighbor had them). He explained how the mesh and foam option is only a temporary barrier or worse just slows them down. He was always a pleasure to work with and professional.

Bryan is extremely knowledgeable in the removal and just general habits of wildlife. Bryan thought that originally we had a squirrel in our attic that turned out to be rats. Apparently rat jobs typically cost more than squirrel job but, Bryan did not change his quote since he mistook the rat feces for squirrel feces. Bryan came out to our house 4-5 times over a week and a half to make sure that the problem was completely taken care of. He also sealed off all the opening of the house to ensure rats would no longer be able to get into our house. This work was done in April 2008 and so far we haven't had any issues with rodents of any kind.

We discovered we had two armadillos that had tunneled under the pool cage. We threw mothballs into the hole but they just tossed them back out several times. So we decided we needed a professional. We called Bryan from Nuisance Wildlife Trappers and he came out the same afternoon to set the traps. A few days later he caught them both in one trap! Bryan removed the armadillos from our property and filled in the hole to keep other critters away. He was very professional. Thanks again for driving a bit out of your service area!

Some animal was digging burrows under my pool deck and around a storage shed. I suspected an armadillo. I called Bryan, after locating him on Angie's List. I had noticed a dead armadillo on the street the day before I called Bryan. He instructed me as to how to detect if the burrows were still in use. They were. Bryan came out and set two traps. It took about three days to trap the armadillo. I called Bryan on a Saturday morning to let him know that the animal was in the trap. He came out and removed the animal. He returned on Monday to reset the traps in case there were more armadillos using the burrows. He returned a couple of days later to remove the traps and fill in the burrows. He put down Snake-A-Way to deter other animals from digging here. Bryan was professional, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He made at least four trips to my home. I will use him again, when I have a need for a trapper.

We called Bryan because part of the soffit by our front door came down, leaving a mess on our porch. We thought we had critters in the attic. He came out quickly and inspected the entire house, inside and out and found nothing. He did set a trap outside. He came back the next day and rechecked the attic, sealed up the front soffit (did an EXCELLENT job!) and took his trap with him. We were very impressed with his knowledge, his quick response, his professionalism and the fact that he does NOT sub-contract his work out. He does everything himself, which was a pleasant relief for us.

Bryan's business is unique and he is a knowledgeable and personable guy. He explained his process completely and did a great job. I was very pleased with my service, but hope I do not need to call Bryan about critters in the future! He humanely traps all types of animals under all types of situations.
Description of Work: Some type of critter had managed to get into my attic! Bryan was able to determine several things: the animal was a squirrel by the tracks; the animal had not been in there long by the quantity of the tracks; it was a male squirrel. Bryan checked all around the house and found two areas where the squirrel had attempted to get in, making a total of 3 entry points. Each of these were sealed and reinforced with sheet metal. He painted those areas to match the trim (my paint). He put traps in the spot where the squirrel had actually gotten in. It was caught soon after and removed by Bryan. He left and checked the trap several times over the course of a week to make sure other squirrels were entering in that spot. Finally, that entry point was sealed.

Bryan is an outstanding young man. You just don't find them like him anymore! He does what he says he'll do, when he says he'll do it. Almost unheard of these days. We played phone tag for a couple of days, but he showed up on time and ready to start work. It's September in Tampa; hottest time of the year. He has to spend a couple of HOURS in my ATTIC looking for a dead animal; eeewwww! After assessing the situation, he gave me an estimate and a timetable of how he'd proceed. He did everything he said he'd do. He set traps, closed up holes, came back every couple of days for two weeks to check the traps, etc. Yes, he trapped some nasty rats and sealed up the attic holes after he was sure that nothing was being shut in. He promised a year's warranty for rats and squirrels. Just a super nice polite hard working guy. I highly recommend him!

Amazing. He knows what he is doing and does the job right. He inspected our house inside and out. He figured out exactly how the rats were getting into our home and put chicken wire over the hole, PROBLEM SOLVED! He showed us animal droppings. He set traps all over our roof, in our attic, and provided us traps for our home. He found the portal for where the rats were coming and going. What we thought were rats in our attic turned out to be a squirrels nest. He also accurately told us that we must have had a raccoon in our attic at one time (which is correct, we had a raccoon removed a year earlier). After working for us for about two weeks and solving our rodent problems, he still comes to set traps at no extra cost, just to be sure that he has caught everything.
Description of Work: Caught 4 rats in our home by using rat traps. Inspected home and found out how the rodents were getting into our house. He used chicken wire to close up the access point. He set traps and checked them everyday. He found a squirrels nest too.

Overall, very happy with how everything went. Thanks.
Description of Work: I called Bryan on Thursday about some damage to some shingles on my roof and styrofoam chewed up and removed from the roof of my screened in porch. He said I probably had a mother raccoon trying to raise her family in my attic. He said he would come by to check it out, but ended up having problems with his truck so he came the next day. When I arrived home from work, I saw the mother on the roof of my porch. I got a ladder to see if I could see her babies and there they were. When Bryan arrived the next day, he got up on the roof and looked around and explained to me that she had no access to my attic and that if I bothered her enough she would leave on her own. He suggested I put some cat droppings on the porch roof and bang on the ceiling. It worked. They were gone the next day and I was charged nothing. I am very appreciative for his advice. He also suggested I patch a couple of areas where smaller rodents could eventually gain access to my attic. Nice guy, very honest and helpful.

Bryan could tell by certain marks that rats had been hiding on one area of my patio ''for generations.'' He caught the rat I had seen, sealed off one area where it could come in, left traps, then came out every day for a week to make sure no more were entering, and finally sealed off a second area. There was a whole plan here, not just putting out a trap. They also checked my house and said there were no more places that they could be coming in. He also pointed out that my palm trees needed trimming because that was where the rats where living. Who knew? He really knows his business. He is an animal lover (rats excluded, I assume). I'll call him again if the need arises and will recommend him to others.

I was impressed with Bryan's "matter-of-factness" and his approach to their removal, which I would describe as humane. He pursued a three-step approach. It was his approach to put down the scent of a predator to prompt the mother raccoon to remove her babies. When that did not work, he ascertained their location and figured the commotion would again prompt the mother to remove them. She did remove and relocate two of them but on the third day, two remained. He had to cut the exterior soffitt to reach them and handle them. He patched the holes. He then placed the two in easy reach of the mother and erected a barrier of wire that would allow the mother to reach the two babies and not re-enter the house at that point. He failed to return. He then took them, warmed them and took them to a person who cares for raccoons rather than destroy them. I was impressed with this approach and his care and knowledge. Bryan was mater-of-fact while being very personable. He did an excellent job.
Description of Work: They verified, found and removed a mother raccoon and her four newborns. That required gaining access to their location in my attic and removal. It also required cutting parts of the exterior soffitt and constructing from wire a confined area that would prevent re-entry. Finally, he applied a good temporary patch for the hole in the roof the raccoon caused.

Bryan Cleveland did a great job. This work was done at the beginning of October '05. I waited to submit this report to make sure he had in fact gotten rid of my rat problem. He did. He was professional and personable. He was very knowlegeable about urban wildlife and how to really get rid of them. I checked what he told me against what the county extention service said to do, and both explanations matched. He didn't try to sell me some useless spray to get rid of the rat scent trails like the other companies do. Apparently, there is no scientific evidence to support using that spray. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

I was very impressed with Bryan's devotion to his work. This all went on during the Christmas holidays. He would show up, always calling to let us know he was on his way, every day for the first few days to gather the trapped animals and replace with fresh traps. After the first 3-5 days, the catching slowed down and he would check them every other day. While placing the 2 traps in the kitchen area, he was careful to make sure that our dog couldn't get to them. When I told him that my toddler grandchildren were coming, he pulled the one trap that was exposed. When we noticed the odor of a dead animal from the cabinet, he came out immediately, located the source and carefully removed it without damaging the cabinets. I don't think we'll have any more problems, but if we do, he'll be the one we call.
Description of Work: After examining our house, Bryan set traps inside (2) and outside (including on the metal roof) of the house to catch the rats that were coming in due to the cold weather. They were in the walls and under the kitchen cabinets. 2 were caught inside in the traps and another one had died under a cabinet. Bryan carefully removed the board under the cabinet, removed the smelly vermin and put the board back. He trapped several more outside over the back porch near an opening he found going into our attic. Once he felt secure that he had caught the troublesome lot, he covered ALL the openings that he found that could be used by a creature to enter the house/attic.

BRYAN CLEVELAND IS AN EXPERT AT WHAT HE DOES. HE GENEROUSLY SHARED HIS FASCINATING KNOWLEDGE OF ANIMAL BEHAVIOR WITH ME, AND IT'S EASY TO UNDERSTAND WHY HE'S BEEN CALLED ''THE PIED PIPER''. HIS METHODS ARE PRECISE AND AS ''HUMANE'' AS POSSIBLE, SOMETHING THAT WAS IMPORTANT TO ME. MY HOME REQUIRED EXTENSIVE REPAIR WORK, WHICH BRYAN HANDLED NEATLY AND SECURELY, GIVING ME COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND AND FAITH THAT MY PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED. HE CAME DAY AFTER DAY UNTIL THE JOB WAS FINISHED, AND IT DIDN'T TAKE AS LONG AS I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WOULD, BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE COST WAS VERY HIGH, BUT CONSIDERING ALL HE DID AND WHAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED, I RATE THE PRICE FAIR AND REASONABLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRYAN FOR ANY ANIMAL REMOVAL/REPAIR JOB. HE'S ALSO A NICE PERSON.

TRAPPER BRYAN WAS A GOD SENT. I CANNOT THANK HIM ENOUGH. HE RETURNED MY CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND ARRIVED ON TIME. IN FACT, HE TRAVELED TO MY HOME WHICH WAS APPROXIMATELY 30+ MILES AWAY 4 TIMES WITHOUT COMPLAINTS OR HESITATION. HE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE, CARING, INFORMATIVE, METICULOUSLY CLEAN, AND MOST OF ALL SELFLESS. OH,I ALMOST FORGOT THE AMARDILLOS NOW HAVE A SAFE HOME SOMEWHERE. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH. BRYAN CLEVELAND GETS 10 STARS FROM ME BECAUSE HE WENT OVER AND BEYOND THE SERVICE CALL.
Description of Work: REMOVAL OF TWO AMARDILLOS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, BRYAN TREATED THE AFFECTED AREA WITH SNAKE AWAY TO DETER ANY FURTHER AMARDILLOS FROM RETURNING. FINALLY, BRYAN ADDED SOME PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE. HE ACTUALLY MESHED,SCREWED AND SEALED THE METAL COVERS INSTALLED ON THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE LEADING TO THE ATTIC. THE METAL COVERS SEAL THE AIR CONDITIONER WIRES ON THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE AND BRYAN INFORMED ME THIS PROCEDURE WAS NECESSARY TO KEEP OUT THE RATS. FINALLY, BRYAN CLIMBED ON THE HOUSE ROOFTOP TO CHECK IF THERE WERE ANY OPEN AREAS TO GIVE RATS OR ANY OTHER SMALL CRITTERS AN INCENTIVE TO VISIT THE ATTIC.

BRYAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE, EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL. THE PRICE SEEMED HIGH AT FIRST BUT AFTER I SAW ALL THE WORK AND TIME INVOLVED I REALIZED THE PRICE WAS MORE THAN REASONABLE. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE OUTCOME OF GETTING RID OF ROOF RATS WITHOUT ALL THE DANGERS TO PETS OF USING POISON. I HAVE NEIGHBORS WHO HAD A POISONED RAT DIE IN THEIR MASTER BATH WALL AND I KNEW THAT WAS ONE EXPERIENCE I WANTED TO AVOID. MY THANKS TO BRYAN.
Description of Work: BRYAN INSPECTED THE HOUSE AND FOUND MULTIPLE ROOF RAT ENTRY POINTS. HE EXPLAINED THE EXCLUSION METHOD HE USED TO TRAP THE RATS AND GRADUALLY SEAL OR BLOCK OFF ENTRY POINTS UNTIL HE WAS CERTAIN ALL RATS WERE OUT. THEN HE WOULD SEAL THE LAST ENTRY. BRYAN CHECKED AND RESET THE TRAPS EVERY DAY FOR A WEEK, THEN EVERY OTHER DAY FOR ANOTHER WEEK.
