I took my car to Full Throttle on the recommendation of a family member. I explained the problem I was having with my transmission running roughly when I accelerated. After the problem was diagnosed, I was told I needed to replace the valve body of the transmission which would cost approximately $1600. I was very impressed that instead of just doing the work, they called to tell me this was a common problem with Volkswagens built during that time and suggested that I asked the VW dealership if they would replace this part under warranty. I did contact VW but was told the warranty on this part had expired in 2012. The dealership quoted replacement of this part at a price considerably higher than Full Throttle. I decided to let Full Throttle go ahead with the repair and they kept me up to date with when they were able to locate the part, when they could install it and when the car would be ready for pickup. I had some additional work done while the car was there and estimated what my total bill would be. I was suprised when I picked up the car that the price was lower than I thought it would be. They had given me a discount I was not expecting. What a nice surprise when you have to spend that much money to get your car running well again! The part they replaced has a lifetime guarantee (they gave me the warranty information in writing) plus the work they did has a one year guarantee. I could not ask for more. I could tell how smooth the transmission was running as soon as I hit the road. I have waited four days before writing this review to be sure the car was performing as expected. It is like it is a brand new car. I did not realize how long I had been dealing with an almost and quot;ready to breakand quot; transmission until this work was done. I will definitely be a permanent customer of Full Throtte. I would recommend this company not only for their quality work but for their integrity and customer service.
Description of Work: Repaired a major problem with the transmission in my 2005 Volkswagen Jetta.

I knew for a while my clutch was going out so I had time to research pricing and quality. I had been taking my car to Shannon at Full Throttle for a few years but I always like to check to see what the competition is like. As always, Shannon's service was A+. My clutch was replaced, at a fair price and I have had no issues with it. Two years ago he repaired my AC on my car. Again, excellent work and fair price.

This place claims to love VW's and is an alternative to dealership service, but they are arrogant and give bad advice. I brought in my own rotors and pads for install and the first thing the and quot;service managerand quot; if that's what you want to call him scoffed at me. They do not want you to bring in your own parts,my mechanic now and in the past don't care about bringing in your own parts, most places don't. But I got the guilt trip treatment over that, that I paid too much, what I bought wasn't good quality, etc. Even though I have been driving dubs for over 20 years. In any event, I wanted to test this guy and ask him how I should break in the pads and rotors. He told me to go about 60mph and hit the brakes as hard as could do really and quot;burnand quot; them in, and repeat the process like 10 times. I thought to myself and quot;ok, this guy doesn't know anything because that's the opposite of what you want to do when breaking in brakes.and quot; I also brought the car in because the transmission was jerking in second gear, so I had them inspect it. They told me the fluid had to be replaced, so I said go ahead. Then after paying they tell me I will have to bring it back in a few days to test the level of the fluid, this is after they had my car for two days. I drive off and the car still jerks while shifting into second gear. I said to h*** with that place as I got a bad feeling about them overall, nobody there is nice. So I took it to my old mechanic and he said the AT fluid level was a quart low, I said I just had it flushed at Full Throttle, he said they didn't fill it all the way. So he topped it off and the jerking went away. The two reasons I tried Full Throttle was because of there supposed good reputation and its closer my house. I could go on about other stuff but what's the use, just avoid this place. THEY DIDN'T REFILL MY TRANSMISSION FLUID TO THE CORRECT LEVEL! WHO DOES THAT? FULL THROTTLE, THAT'S WHO. Update: After reading the response only affirms what I said in my review. Now they are calling me a liar about what the service tech told me about how to break in my new rotors and pads. I specifically remember him telling me to and quot;brake as hard as I canand quot; several times. I was never told about a part they couldn't get and needed to come back for that, they said to come back so they could check the fluid level. Why would they need me to come back to recheck the fluid level they just changed and supposedly refilled to spec? I Everything I stated in my review is 100% accurate and I wouldn't go through this trouble to make this up. I am clearly stating facts and warning other consumers who read this, that this was MY EXPERIENCE. If you have other happy customers great for you. My car transmission was worse when I picked up the car than when I dropped it off. Had another mechanic check the tranny fluid level and he said the simple reason it's and quot;buckingand quot; is because the fluid was way too low. This was two days after picking up my car from FULL THROTTLE.

Response from Full Throttle of Orlando
In response to the review by (removed member name), Full Throttle of Orlando has always had a warranty on parts and labor on all repairs and service that we do. We wished (removed member name) would have called us with his complaint. We value all of our customers and feel disappointed that he did not allow us the opportunity to make things right. We have been in business over 8 years and have always put customers first. If you do enough business you will have a chance to prove yourself by standing by your work. Full Throttle of Orlando has completed hundreds of brake jobs over the years and has never had a complaint as such. In addition, Full Throttle of Orlando would never advise a customer to use the 'brake-in' procedure stated by (removed member name). The issue with the transmission was not resolved because the part was not available through the dealership or our parts supplies the same day. We advised the customer to return so that we could complete the job correctly. Please give use a call so that we can take of your complaint.
