S&S Air Conditioning

I called them when I received a $700 electric bill. They came three days later and needed to order the part. Twice they ordered or, as they say the company shipped the wrong part. It was two weeks, I believe before the job was completed. As a part of this I made the decision to go ahead and get the semi-annual checkup plan. ($270) They did this checkup and as a part of this ordered a unique filter that goes in the conditioner in the attic. As has happened before, I now three weeks later needed to call them to ask about the installation of the filter. They picked up on my irritation that it had not been done and said it was on order and would be coming in tomorrow and they would come on Wednesday. This is Monday. I asked them if they had a service to call for the next semi-annual checkup because I had had the yearly plan before and they forgot me. They said they did not, that it was the home owners responsibility to remember. She then took this back and said she was putting it into the computer. I frankly, wondered if they wanted residential customers or not.

They were very professional to deal with. They did a nice job on what I asked them to do. The work was just fine as well.

They are very responsive and they send out a service technician within 24 hours if there is an issue.

Our air conditioning stopped working on a Tuesday evening. We have a Preventative Maintenance contract with S & S which gives us priority service. We called the emergency line and left a message. We were contacted in about 15 minutes and described the problem to the technician. He stated he was about 1/2 hour away and would come out immediately. He arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem. He was able to get the system running using a temporary part for us. He did suggest our system would not last for much longer and it was possibly time to repair it and said he could have an inside salesperson contact us to which we agreed. Ron Hampton called us the next morning and setup an appointment to come out and give us an assessment. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of detail and time that was given. He checked the entire duct system out and measured all the vents in every room. We were surprised because the prior year we have someone come out and give us a quote. We decided not to proceed and crossed our fingers that we could buy some more time. We are certainly glad we did because the company from the year before did not do even near the complete assessment that S & S did for us and the other company was very pushy. Once we agreed to purchase the new system from S &S they scheduled us for the following week. They arrived promptly the next week and installed our new system and replaced a lot of our ductwork. Everything about the install was completely professional. Our system has been working without fail for almost 2 months now.
