Badly. If they were not a sub-contractor, I would have fired them at the beginning. I eventually did (read on) They did not communicate at the beginning to the main contractor what they needed done, so the initial prep work was not done correctly and the permit failed. That cost me $. Later, when they re-attached the water heater pipes, literally immediately after they left, the pipes burst, flooding my house. That cost me $. They installed the hole for the toilet incorrectly. That cost me $. When I refused to have them back to the house for the "final inspection", they threatened to pull the permit, which they could not actually do because it was not in their name. They were extremely rude throughout the entire process. You do not "show up" when you want and "leave" when you want - without telling the home owner (who is home) that you are have arrived, or are leaving. They have zero communication skills. Months after the project was finished, I wanted to install a bathroom (in the wall) medicine cabinet. Fortunately I had taken pictures before the walls were put up, so I showed the pictures to the contractor installing the cabinet. He was flabbergasted that they ran the pipes directly across where the cabinet was to go. He said that's not how it's supposed to be done. So I had to rip open the wall and move the pipes. That cost me $. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Update 5/30/17 - Their responses are all lies. Except for the initial tear down, I was home every day (I work from home!). And I told them I wanted to be informed when they were here and when they left, and they ignored my request every single time. And yes the 1/2 bath where they did the re-piping did flood, there was water everywhere. Just a total lie on their part! All I can say about the permit is that St Pete license board closed it and that I believe the permit was under my general contractor's name, not theirs. They did all the plumbing work (except attaching the toilet). When they reset the toilet "hole" in the proper place, um I paid them DIRECTLY for doing that, I have the receipt... so that is yet another a lie from them. The fact that they cannot even remember basic details of the job, what they did, etc just proves my point that they are a horrible company/customer service staff. Their attitude that they worked for the "general contractor" says it all right there. It was my $ that was being spent. I was THE CUSTOMER. They claim that I had a bad attitude, yet in the same paragraph claim they never dealt with me -- well which is it? I can tell you it's the latter - they never dealt with me. That they fail to realize I was the customer is a fundamental customer service failure on their part. Hire them at your own risk.

"Everything he stated was not true, all the work was being done at the rear of the house and only if it was unlocked we would go in and work. at no time were we in the main part of the house and there wasn't any reason to inform them when we leave, also he was out of the country over 75% of the time. that was our permit and it had our name on it, we paid for it not him. also he never paid any extra's as a matter of fact we never got paid the balance of our money. we worked for the contractor and only have to answer to him, the contractor paid us extra for re-setting the toilet, we didn't do the toilet at first and that is why the contractor paid us. his house never did flood and he never had to pay any extra. The only thing left to do was set the toilet and he got a handi-man do it and we got all of our inspections. This mans adittude was that it made the working experience a very difficult process! The room addition was permitted and was done according to code, there wasn't much communication with every one. We do have to answer to the contractor in which wasn't very good, when you have home owner s calling in your inspections with out your permission and by the way we passed all of our inspections"

Emory has actually been out to our new home on 3 separate occasions due to some sketchy work by the previous owner. He has been constantly professional and efficient. I will be having him out again in the near future to do more work. Highly recommended.

Emory arrived early before I had to leave for my office. He wasted no time getting the completed very quickly. We had tried to get the clog ourselves for about an hour, but we were unable to clear it. Emory had no problem getting GONE. He was very professional yet friendly and courteous. We will definitely have him back again for our future plumbing needs.

Prior to arriving at the house we had agreed on a price of $95 but when he was done he wanted $155. He got obstinate and started telling me that he has to pay for all of these travel costs and he shouldn't have to pay them. Bottom line is that he was completely deceitful about the price and therefore I'd never have him back. 20$ is more than 20% of the price I thought I had to pay. When you agree on a price and then it changes once the work is done, it doesn't matter what the reason, it is a matter of integrity to not share a standard travel fee when discussing what the price of something will be.
He was also not very nice or helpful with the replacement of the faucet, once it was installed the faucet was a little wiggly and I asked him why and told him to fix it and he said that there was nothing he could do and if I buy garbage then that is what I should expect. I told him that I had asked him initially what he thought of the faucet and if he thought it would be okay and he didn't say it was a cheap brand he just was like 'yeah lady it's a faucet'. So I said, why didn't you tell me that and he said buying the hardware isn't his problem he was just there to install a faucet.
He also had a pretty creepy partner. So, I'd say you can find better. Good luck.

Emory quickly figured out the problem - one left behind by contractors who erroneously installed the toilet. Emory not only cleaned up the mess, but reinstalled and caulked the toilet, as it should have been done by the contractor. Emory was professional, courteous, and I would only be too happy to call him, should I encounter another plumbing issue in my house. Thanks!

The install itself went well. Once it was done being installed it worked fine until the unit had to regenerate. When the water would regenerate it would leak water into the house. He came out once to attempt to fix but it kept leaking. He would not return phone calls and did not respond to BBB request for information. Does not stand behind his work.

"our company did go back and fix the leak in his house. he is right we did go back one time but never heard back from him again."

Emory was recommended to us by Stuart at Taylor Tile & Wood. Communications were between Stuart and Emory, with an occasional e-mail from us to Emory. Emory did excellent work with the new plumbing for our bathroom installation. When he re-sealed the master bath toilet, he found a large clean-up job that he did for no extra charge, which we appreciated (although we offered to pay extra). The only odd thing was that the old bathtub that was removed sat in our yard during the renovation. We had to ask for it to be removed. Most workers that we have had in our home have removed the old fixtures when something new was installed, so that seemed a little odd. Just make sure it's understood up front that any old fixtures will be removed. Other than that, he did a good job with the plumbing and I would recommend him.
Response from Emory M Garland Plumbing
"I was happy with the response from the members and the plumbing we did for them is just an example of the 100s of jobs we do all the time and everyday. We exemplify quality in everything we do, whether in personal or business and we take a lot of pride in honesty and integrity. The freemans never asked us to remove their bathtub, although when asked to do so, we did so for no charge."
